Within this folder are records and documents pertaining to the Actor known as ???, a child who was once called ??? on the Other Side. This child is now in the care of a man named Kaden (or Nikiana). Only the master of ??? may contribute documents, unless otherwise granted permission by the keeper of these records. Any violation of this rule and complaint from a master will result in disciplinary action.

Physical Description :: If he stood completely upright, Kaden would reach an average height of 5' 8". However, he keeps himself hunched over, causing his height to shrink by a good 6 inches. His brown hair is kept cut rather short, even for a male. It's hard to tell the color of his closely set eyes, since he's almost always looking down, but some investigation would reveal that they are a muddy brown color. Kaden's facial features are not quite normal, with his brow dominiating his face. He is thickly set and also has puffy cheeks.
Personality :: Sweet and rather docile, Kaden is rather simple minded. He can perform simple tasks, but cannot be given a large list of them at once. He does best when told to do one thing and come back for the next. He has a fasciantion for shiny and pretty things and takes care not to cause harm to anything that he deems pretty. He has a small vocabulary and a stuttering problem, hence he tends not to talk to strangers. In fact, he avoids strangers when he can because of his speech problems and his own appearance.
Kaden doesn't care much about the future, hardly even thinking ahead to the next task. His mind is in the here and now. He likes to touch things, finding a solace in touching pretty things. Though he likes to touch pretty objects, he doesn't like being touched by others.
Background Information :: Kaden was born in Wynander years before Sehket took over to a middle class family. It was apparent right away that Kaden was not normal, but he was loved as any parent loved their child. His childhood was rough, filled with children poking fun at him and adults unsure of how to treat him. Kaden soon blossomed into an awkward young adult and was betrayed by one he thought was a friend, leaving him to scorn the friendship of most.
When Sehket took over, money (and more importantly, food) got tight for Kaden's family. The boy was an extra mouth to feed and unfortunately was not much help in the family's store. Though he was an adult, Kaden's mentality kept people thinking of him as no more than an overlarge child.
He was sold to a rich family, who realized that a simple-minded man would be happy for shelter and food and not complain about the tasks set to him. Kaden became part of the kitchen staff, though it was soon discovered that his abilities were rather limited. So Kaden learned some new rules: No cooking, no fire, no sharp objects. Often times, when the kitchen staff is preparing a meal, Kaden is sent to the steward to perform household chores and keep him out from underfoot of the busy cooks.

Home is a small corner of the kitchen of a large estate in Marsalle. At night, a small pallet is laid out for Kaden to sleep on. His first task of the day is to pick it up and store it away in a nearby cabinet.

[ Prompt I ] Prompt should be written in first-person perspective. Write a statement on your character's philosophy. What motivates your character? What is your character's perspective on life, society, and his/her place in the world? What is your character's driving goal? This should reveal why your character interacts with other people in a particular way or makes certain decisions.
Wakey, wakey! Cook wakey me. Time to get up. Yummy food. Pretty bowl. Oatmeal good. Warm food. Warm in tummy!
Work time. I work hard! Fetch water from well. I good fetcher. Bucket heavy with water. Fill barrel in kitchen. Many trips. Water pretty in sun. Bucket not pretty. Barrel not pretty. Water pretty! Many trips. Outside. Inside. Outside. Sun bright. Barrel full!
Clean oatmeal pot. Not pretty! Oatmeal stuck inside. Hard to get out. I scrub hard! Cook not happy. Wasting food bad! Pot all clean now. I do good.
Cook send to Housekeeper. Cooking time. I clean now. Clean house. First empty chamberpots. Chamberpots stinky. Not like smelly pots. Yucky chore. Not like.
Back to Cook. Lunch time. Yummy lunch. Bread good. Small piece of meat. Meat yummy! Not get meat much. Only when Master not eat all. Now is cleaning pans. Soapy water. No splashing. Splashing is trouble. I good and not splash.
Get firewood. Stack in kitchen. Cook need lots for fire. Fire make kitchen warm. Not cold time outside yet. Only fire in kitchen.
Back to Housekeeper. Now sweeping! I like sweeping! Dust is bad. Makes pretties not so pretty. But not dusting right now. Sweeping! Oh, Master has a new pretty. Can't touch. No touching Master's pretties. Sweeping, sweeping, sweeping. New pretty is pretty. Sometimes Master lets me touch pretties. But not now. Now is sweeping. Oh, tummy made noise! Empty tummy. Sweeping now, though.
Done with sweeping! Tummy making more noises. Take broom to Housekeeper. Housekeeper nice. She nice to Kaden. I like her. Oh, look. Cook has food for me. Food for tummy! Make tummy happy. Happy tummy not make noises. Yummy bread and apple. Good food. Apple pretty and yummy. Extra good!
Cook say bedtime. Sleepy Kaden. Nice bed in kitchen floor. Soft blanket. Warm fire. Much good. I happy. Tummy quiet. I warm. Yawning. Me sleepy. Sleepy...
[ Prompt II ] Prompt should be written in third-person perspective. Describe an event in your character's history that has significantly influenced the course of his/her life: marriage, the birth of a child, first love, death of a family member, etc. The event you describe should be one that took place prior to Sehket's Awakening (in other words, something that occurred in the past when Wynander was still "normal" ). This should not involve your character finding a Persona, the Fortune Teller, or anything of that sort.
Kaden could barely force his legs to propel him towards the doorway. He was nervous. Sera was a friend, a good friend. She never laughed at his speech problems or tried to finish his sentences for him. He brought her flowers and pretty rocks and she always treasured them just as he would've. He was in love. The teenager thought back to the conversation that he'd had with a mutual friend just the other day.
"H-how do I t-tell her?" Kaden fidgeted, unable to meet Lucas' eyes. The other man just sat and looked at the younger man for a few moments.
"Just... ask her out to dinner. Or to walk through the gardens."
Kaden smiled. "The fl-flowers are pretty," he agreed.
He looked down at the flowers in his hands. She liked it when he brought flowers. He liked it when she smiled. She had a very nice smile. He raised his hand, gathering his courage and finally knocking his knuckles against the wooden door.
In what seemed to be both an enturnity and no time at all, the door was pulled open. Sera beamed as she spotted Kaden. "Oh, Kaden! I'm so glad you're here! I have news for you!" She grabbed his arm and pulled him into the house.
"These are for you," he managed to get in when Sera paused to take a breath.
"They're beautiful," Sera gushed, but her attention was only briefly upon the flowers. She finally blurted out her news. "I'm engaged!" She giggled and danced while Kaden just stared at her in shock.
"W-w-w-who?" The shock caused his stutter to become more prominent than usual.
Sera turned, beaming at a male who was entering the room. The man stepped forward and the light fell across his face, allowing Kaden to recognize him.
"Lucas?!" Kaden's hands balled into fists, tearing the flowers that he still gripped. Petals fell to the floor as Lucas put an arm about Sera.
The woman was oblivious to Kaden's reaction. "We've been dating for so long! I thought he'd never ask!!" She turned to her fiance, who gently kissed her upon the forehead, his eyes darting to see Kaden's reaction to the affectionate gesture.
The flowers fell from Kaden's hands. "I'm... glad you're happy," he muttered, turning on a heel to leave. He'd seen the smile on Sera's face. It was the smile he thought she only used with him. His feet carried him to the gardens, tears streaming down his face by the time he reached them. How could Lucas do something like that to him? The man knew his feelings for Sera!
Frustrated, Kaden kicked a rock in his path, stumbling as the movement caused him to lose his balance for a moment. He had no real friends. Lucas was not his friend! And Sera... he couldn't stand to see her happy with that traitor. He wasn't like other people and they would never bear him. They just pretended to be his friend. They probably all laughed about him behind his back.
"People are mean!" He announced to the flowers around him. Only the flowers would be his friends.
