Frequently I hear individuals talk about a deeper meaning to martial arts , and personally after my experienceswith martial arts I don't really feel there is one. It's like saying there are ultimate techniques in a style that fire beams of energy, that just is not the case. I understand there are of course "advanced moves" so don't split hairs with me. To be more direct, my belief is that martial arts is in fact for fighting someone else, when done between martial artists it's like two opposing instruments; they can harmonize as a draw or one rhythm will over power the other. That's all there really is in my point of yiew and I'm curious to know if other people feel differently and how so.

To me, Learning the marital arts is about mastering the self, its about self discovery. The ability to kick peoples asses when you are forced to is just a very nice bonus.
That's something that's occurred to me as well. I don't know if I put the subject the right way though. Nice signature though; nearly cried I laughed so hard.
