OOC: Okay. Legal Stuff: I don't own Harry Potter or related items, that's property of J.K Rowling.
And RP stuff: I need AT LEAST one person from each house for this. (Canon characters will appear, but for the main part of the adventure, your original character pls biggrin ) Please say in an OOC what your character's name and house is- just so I know if I need to do any filling- in of my own. Jump in, hope you'll enjoy!

I'll be using Jade Astelle of Slytherin.

IC:

Everyone, both Muggle and Wizard, knows that one should clean their vials, beakers and cauldrons when they're done using them. It's common sense, and stringently insisted on by both chemistry and Potions professors. After all, who knows what could happen if certain unnamable chemicals and/or potion residues got mixed? There were already cases of super-doxys because they drank the dregs of various potions, and mutated micro organisms from exposure to chemical waste...

There's a not-oft heard ghost story in the school, not well known, and mainly localised within Potions members. It was back in the day over fifty years ago...

There was a student. He was a bright student, but was well known for his eccentricity and absentmindedness. Nobody remembered what his name was, but he was, as the story goes, very partial to experimenting with various potions, trying to find the key brew for the oddest purposes, like making a lion speak human, or bestowing fairies with human size and intelligence. Once he attempted to make a potion for turning a person into an angel without dying- that is, giving them wings.

But that's besides the point. As already mentioned, he was absentminded, and most people who had seen him (which wasn't many), noticed that he had a habit of forgetting to clean his cauldrion until it went technicolour with scum.

One day, he was once again experimenting, late into the night at Hogwarts' Potions room. He hadn't cleaned his cauldron for quite some time, and was trying to create a human flowering-hair potion. It had been a long day, and he was tired, so he fell asleep at the bench, his potion still bubbling under a controlled fire. That night was also the night that new, young magical creatures were being brought into the school. The Magical Creatures professor had been injured and the substitute was unable to control all of the creatures. Four young animals escaped, and ran into the school. They smelled the oddly-delicious scent from the cauldron, and ran towards it. Finding the human asleep and unresponsive, they drank the potion, which had by now bubbled for so long that the residues from previous potions had mixed with the brew.

That potion changed them forever.

The boy woke up, and finding his cauldron empty, was confused...until he saw the four creatures.

He was never heard from again.
~~~~~~~~
Years later after that supposed incident, the residents of the four House Dormitories of Hogwarts sometimes hear suspicious bumps...strange noises, and even see the shadows of some unnameable creature. Some students disappear, but reappear suffering a nervous breakdown or even total insanity. Lately these incidents have been getting more frequent. They're never harmful enough to threaten school closure, but they are bothersome...frightening...and sometimes parts of the house rooms are mysteriously vandalised.
Discover the cause of these disturbances. But what will happen when the answer is found?
-----------------------------
Another autumn Monday had dawned at Hogwarts. People were already tired, 'cause Monday meant classes and classes meant work. And for the new students, Monday meant either another day of excitement or another day of getting hopelessly lost in the passages.
For Jade, it was another day of having to deal with dunderheads, thickheaded bullies and subjects that she hated. Like Divination. She was already introspective enough as it was, that class was not helping matters. She had a constantly stormy expression as she munched through breakfast. She had Divination first that morning...and it was making her REALLY, REALLY grumpy.
Hannah stumbled into the hall, she looked spooked, she kept looking over her shoulder, as if something was following her. Her shirt sleeve was torn.
((Woooot this sounds interesting, at least. I shall be Snapeh... 8D))
Severus rather pitied Mondays.
They were largely hated and occasionally feared for their penchant for creating mischief. He knew many people, fellow teachers included, who joined in the Monday-despising ritual by describing in detail to all who would hear their previous Monday woes.
Once, he had overheard that dratted werewolf telling Shacklebolt that his joints always seemed to pain him more on Mondays. Severus had also seen Pomona dramatically gesticulating a story to Filius that her Flaming Snapdragons had been particularly ornery every Monday of that month. Frankly, Severus always found them horribly vicious and particularly hard to handle, preferring to buy their extremely valuable roots from someone else stupid enough to harvest them.
Then again, Pomona also thought that playing Mozart in the greenhouses made her plants grow better. Severus had never really understood her.
But really, Severus liked Mondays. There was something about the beginning of the week that motivated him to do better in the coming days. Or perhaps he just wanted to disagree with the rest of the world and laugh in the face of their misery. There was always that.
Nevertheless, as he sat at his desk grading papers, he felt like his Monday had perhaps taken a turn for the worst. He had known this was coming... ever since Sybill had found out that he had a free period in her time slot. She had squinted at him one crisp day at lunch with her globe-like eyes and pronounced he would suffer a terrible death indeed unless he assisted her in a class demonstration. Of course, he had said no, but, of course, it seemed that the Headmaster did not find that acceptable. Like always.
Severus,
My dear boy, it has come to my attention in the form of a very distraught, and, if I do say so myself, rather hysterical, Divination professor that you are again refusing to spend any of your valuable time to assist a colleague. To say I am disappointed at your lack of regard for a highly valuable member of the staff at Hogwarts
- Severus snorted at that - would be a supreme understatement. I understand that Sybill may be a bit difficult to get along with at times, but I trust you will attempt to put your differences aside and work together in harmony. Severus, I know you may think it too much to ask, but please consider being more chivalrous to your fellows in the future.
Sincerely,
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
Severus had read the letter through three times before he slammed it on his desk so hard that some ungraded essays scattered and fell to the cold stone floor. Screw chivalry, he thought bitterly, sulking for a few minutes while he imagined hanging Sybill in a room by her ankles and locking her in with a Blast-Ended Skrewt. In the end, Severus admitted defeat, since his only other alternative was to grade papers, which was never a task to look forward to.
Therefore, with a heavy heart and a sour expression, he exited his office in a flurry of robes and drama and headed up the stairs.
OOC: Thanks, but I also need one original character from you. Be anyone from Gryffindor, Ravelclaw Hufflepuff or Slytherin- although a Gryffindor or Ravenclaw is preferred
Jade wore a similarly stormy expression as she went up the stairs, to enter the stuffy Divination Room. Oh JOY. More incense, heat, and that irritating woman's mystical hee-haw. I wish I took Muggle Studies instead. Anyone who passed her averted their gaze and gave her a wide berth. She sighed heavily as she went through the trapdoor and entered the hot, stuffy attic.
((I've got a Gryffindor one, but he's Draco Malfoy's son, technically... is that alright? I'm not sure what time this is set in.))
((Hn...could pose a few issues with the space-time continuum...since by then Snape-sensei is TECHNICALLY and CLINCALLY dead. But bah, this is an RP, who cares. Since Snape-sensei is still alive, he shouldn't exist, but whatever. I'd love it if you could make one that stays, but I'm not picky.))
((Well, I could always make him Draco's half brother or some other weird junk. It will work. xD I'll edit this post for his intro after school. Lol.))
Hannah rushed into the classroom looking nervous, the whole class watched her go to her seat. There was a tear in her jumper sleave
[[OOC~ If it's okay, I'll be using my OC Raven Sterling of Gryffindor.]]
To say that Raven Septima Rose Sterling hated Divination was an understatement. She loathed, detested, abhorred it with every fiber of her 4'8", 97 lbs., black haired, ever-changing(but normally grey) eyed body. So you ask why she still takes it? Because she's too shy on the outside. So,
as Raven trudged up the North Tower stair case to Divination, being careful not to get stuck in the trick step, she contemplated the ways to get out of Divination, fiddling with her tie as she went.
Jade sat alone at her table, projecting a stormy atmosphere that even Prof. Trelawney seemed to want to avoid. The Professor welcomed everyone with teh typical third eye speech, and launched into a lecture on divining through dreams. Which made Jade want to fall asleep.
Rose was glad that she gave up Divination. She instead took Ancient Runes, which she found very interesting. In fact, Ancient Runes was the one of the only classes that she was actually good at. The only classes she was good at where Ancient Runes, Potions, Astronomy, and DADA. So she made her way over to the class early.
Ps. My character is to be like me. Her name is Rosa Zoraida Ortega Iannelli, but people call her Rose, she is in Slytherine, plays the viola and the guitar, and is vegetarian.
((OOC: WOW, it's dead in here. PHOENIX DOWN! XD))
Jade struggled to remain awake. She couldn't care less about dreams of the future- she was thoroughly convinced that dreams were a message from within, not from the "later". She sighed impatiently. People were masters of their own fates, no one else could be.
((OOC: Hey this sounds interesting, mind if i Join? I'll be playing Blaire Sparrow, a Gryffindor.))
Professor Trewlany was a bat to be sure, but she knew what she was talking about when it came to her subject. you know... besides all the terrible terrors that awaited them all. Blaire looked around and wondered why so many people were alseep. She chuckled to herself, this class was on dream interpretations maybe they were getting a head start! She actually enjoyed the art of Divination it seemed hokey but it was actually pretty complex. Suddenly, two large eyes were blinked at her and she noticed the silence...more than before.
Crap! she missed the question...
"well my dear?" asked Trewlany, Blaire felt very small all of a sudden.
"i was daydreaming professor, what did you say?" she replied meekly
"The flight!" she exclaimed loudly, Blaire even noticed someone jump. "the meaning of flight, the power what it repsresents!"
"Dreams of flying are lucid dreams, meaning you know that you're dreaming, and depending on how you fly it repersents differend things-obviously."
"If you were to waver let's say? what then?" she asked eagarly.
Blaire thought for a moment. "Well if you're stuggling to stay aloft then that means that in the waking world you lack control of a situation. if in the dream you're avoiding certain obstacles then someone or something is stopping you from moving forward."
"Exactly! Exactly, the third eye see all not every dream has to be prophetic...." Whatever the professor said after that flew over her head, she just wanted to go to potions, which sadly was at the end of the day.
