It was a warm sunny day and all Amber cared about was going out and enjoying it. She had dressed herself and was now trying to pull her guardian off the couch. "Come on Nomi, I want to go to the park!" The girl always had a problem pronouncing her name. It took another half hour of tugging, yelling, and whining before Naomi gave in and decided to take the persistent girl to the park. What she didn’t know was that Amber had put her bathing suit on under her clothes.
The park was only a short walk from their apartment and the whole way Naomi had to run after Amber every time she’d break away from her hand in hopes to getting to the park faster. It was too hot for Naomi’s like so she found herself a cooler resting place on a bench in the shade as she let Amber run out in the hot sun over towards the playground where she quickly climbed up the ladder leading to the top platform of the jungle gym.

The sun beat down on poor Lily's head. Neither his dark coloured hair nor the purple headed child tugging his hand was helping. "Daaaadddd!!!! Hurry!!! What if Vergil is there?!" Stas whined at the taller male who he pulled along. He was eager to see if his friend from preschool was there at the park with his dad. "We have to huuuurrrrrryyyyyyyy!!!" Stas whined once more before they neared the entrance of the park.
The park was a quaint little place. There were benches for the adults who were 'less fun' than the children swinging like monkeys on the playground equipment. Stas let go of the tanner hand that was connected to his dad and dashed off towards the equipment where he saw someone else was also playing. He looked up from the ground below to see someone other than Vergil. They weren't Vergil and nor were they even a boy.
"Hi there!" He called up from below before running over to the stairs and climbing up them towards the girl who was playing at the park before he came.

Amber was just about to go down the slide when she heard someone call to her. Pausing and looking down she saw a purple haired boy looking up at her. She smiled when she saw he had a set of wings just like her. "Hi! My name's Amber! You have wings too!" she called out being outgoing. She hadn't met another 'Songbird' as her mother had called her.

At the sound of the girl's voice, he perked up. But at the sight of her eyes, he was mesmerized. He had never seen eyes other than his own gray eyes in the mirror or his dad and his friends' brown eyes. "N-nice to mee you. My name's Stas. andmhm~ I have wings!" He spat out the words as he introduced himself with his nickname and not his full name. His wings fluttered as he spoke. "You have wings too!" He said as he jabbed a finger towards her wings. He quickly pulled back though when the thought of his dad scolding him for pointing and getting into trouble at the market.
"Do you mind if i play with you here?" He said with a shy smile towards her as he saw that she was sitting on the top of the slide, ready to push herself off and make the fast journey down. He asked because he didn't want to make her feel as though he was invading her territory and playing where she wanted to play when she wanted to play it.

Looking down at him through her golden eyes, she was slightly confused as to why his expression changed then started speaking with a stutter. He was weird, but friendly. Amber fluttered her wings, taking the finger pointing as more of a compliment of pointing her out from the rest rather then rude.
She smiled wider when he asked if she wanted to play. She hardly ever got out of the house with other kids. "Yeah! Come up here and I'll race you to the bottom!" she said as there were two adjacent slides which could easily be used for a race. She turned towards the slop of the slide, gripping onto the sun heated edges of the slide ready to take off once Stas was in position. "Ready? One, two, three...go!" she called pushing herself off then sliding down the small slope.

Stas smiled as she returned the point. Maybe dad was wrong about pointing and that all points weren't always bad. At the kind gestrues from this girl, he sort of liked her. It was a different feel when he first met Vergil, but it was also a nice feeling.
"Okay! That sounds fun!!" Stas said as he ran over and crawled into the slide next to her ready to push off. He set his hands down on the slide edges, but backed off before placing them back off. The heat of the slide edges were surprising to him until he knew and was prepared for it. At her count off, he got ready to push himself off from where he was. When her voice shouted 'go!' he pushed and slid down the small slope. To him, it felt like a mountain, but to his dad, it was shorter than him.

The slide was hot and would have been okay if not for her shorts, causing her legs not only to touch bare skin with the hot plastic but also stick causing her to not move until she lifted them off of the surface. By then her competition had already won.
She wasn't too happy about loosing but she could blame it on her shorts. Standing up at the edge of the slide she rubbed the back of her legs, cooling them from the earlier assault of the sun and playground plastic.

Stas didn't know the pain of bare skin on the hot plastic slide. His shorts weren't too short and went well to his knees. He smiled back towards Amber with enthusiasm that could only be found in a child. "That was fun! D'you wanna slide again?" He exclaimed happily, not even remembering about the race's outcome. "or we can go on the swings or the curly slide or the seesaw! But if we go on the swings, i'm going to have to ask daddy to push me..." He said happily, even though having to get his dad to push him was pretty lame. He offered out a hand to her and said, "Let's go together to where you want to play on." It had been a while since he played with someone and he wasn't just going to let this chance go to waste.

Amber frowned at the thought of sliding again. She lost and hurt her legs. She couldn't help but smile when he held out his hand. He was nice. "Let's go on the seesaw," she said grabbing his hand and ran towards the seesaw only to let go when they reached them.
Amber went to sit down on one end but paused as she realized these things were harder than they looked. If one of them was sitting, the other end would be too high in the air for the other to get on. Normally when she was seesawing with Naomi, Amber would get on first and Naomi was tall enough to get on the other end. Stas was not.
"How are we going to get on?" Amber asked, puzzled.

"Okay!" He said back to her as she agreed to the idea of the seesaws. Stas followed along with Amber towards it. He walked with her to the low side and then he walked over to the tall side. "My daddy, when he plays with me, presses the other side down so that he can get on." Stas said as he lay his hands flat on the center of the seesaw and ran along it; trying to push it down as he went along.
Little by little, he tried to make it lower for himself, but he got about a third of the way to the end before he got tired. "Maybe i can slide along it and move to the end..." He said to himself as he straddled the body of the seesaw and began sliding his body backwards towards the opposite end of the seesaw. He didn't know if it would work or not, but it was worth a try, right?
