Hey there! This is the thread where I'm gonna keep updates on how my Scare Seeking is progressing! If you wanna do the same in your own thread in the main forum, please do! We can get ideas from each other 3nodding
19th July 2009 - Rang my Aunty and organised a camping trip with her and my little cousins. We're going camping near to a place called "Whitby Abbey". There's many local legends about hauntings in the ruins of the Abbey, including the spirit of a nun that can be seen stood in one of the windows. The most well known legend is that of the nun who founded the abbey - apparently once a year a dragon came to the abbey and tried to smash it down, the nun ("Saint Hilda" I think it was) is said to have banished the dragon. All true! So, the plan is to go down to the abbey at midnight with our cameras and see what we can uncover! I'm going to research into the myths surrounding it a little more so I have a better chance of finding something.
I also know my way around the abbey pretty darn well, as I built a 3D replica of it as part of my masters project at uni. So, it seems the perfect place to go! Plus I now have a team of Scare Seekers as backup, which will make it even more fun 3nodding

2nd of August 2009 - My cousins arrive in a few days, so the camping trip is imminent! I have a wedding to go to on my days off on the 20th and 21st so it'll have to be before then. I seem to be getting days off on Tuesdays now instead of Thursdays, so maybe it could be Tuesday the week after this coming one!
I'll be taking torches (which I may have to buy from the pound shop beforehand 'cos we don't seem to have many in the house!) and I might take along some candles to put around places and get some cool atmospheric pictures (being very careful not to put them anywhere flammable lol!). Oh yeah, also my mother's digital camera as it is a million times better than mine xd May also take along my fancy non-digital camera and a stand to get some time-lapses.
My nice warm coat is also a must-bring, along with my old walking trainers that I can get nice and muddy 3nodding

OK, the trip has been put back a little, but it is imminent! As soon as I get my hours for next week I'll be off to see the Abbey, the wonderful Abbey of Whitby! My cousins are still joining me, and my mother has decided to come along for the trip as well as my Aunty so it's gonna be a full tent and lots of cameras to record anything that happens!
I've been reading up on troll legends too, the abbey seems to be in an ideal spot with lots of cover as well as open natural spaces. I'm going to buff up on the signs and see if there's anything to track!
