Laptops are advanced, but they call them notebooks now i believe because you can't really put them on your laps anymore. The reason why is because they have a very small fan that sometimes can't keep up with the demand of air to keep it ventilated. I suggest you get a notebook fan that you can get at your local computer store or hardware so it won't cause future problems. Also laptops components are usually integrated which means you can't customize your notebook with better hardware. But desktops is totally different and have a longer life span, and if you are a hardcore gamer you should pick up a desktop with a lot of Ram and a good battery supply lol and the graphics usually don't need to be really good unless you are playing a game like age of conan.. Desktop is my pick :3

I am certainly a laptop/notebook fan. I love the fact that I can travel with them--either long distance or to town! So many places offer WiFi...it's very convenient, in my opinion.

I seem to go through laptops a lot.
For a while I was way too mobile with them. Then my power cords wold burn through themselves. Aaaand my charging port would give away.
The best of the laptops I had was probably the HP. That bugger took so much damage (from being dropped down stairs, banged against walls, and so on). R.I.P. HP sad
Currently I'm using a Compaq. It's no so bad, but I'm so used to having a built in web-cam and mic. And I'm working on customizing it more personally and it's been fun. Yesterday I felt really achieved with the stuff I was doing on it :3

HP sad That is certainly a lot for a laptop to go through...dare I ask how it was it ended up being banged against a wall? lol In all seriousness, though, that must have been one tough machine. The first laptop I got was an HP, and had I not trip over a cord, yanked it out, and ruined a port, it probably still would have been going strong today.
