Alex had a pretty regular childhood. When he was a teenager he hunted in his hometown forest so he learned to use knives and guns. He also can shoot a bow very well. When the nuclear war hit his parents grabbed him and ran to the nearest military base but on the way there the car hit a mine and his parents died in the crash. He made it to the base only to find it had already been attacked and everyone had left or died. He loaded up on weapons and supplies and began to look for a place where others were hiding out. His radio heard some survivors were on a boat about to leave for America. He made it to the boat in time and began his journey across the Atlantic...

((I'm going to go to first person for Alex's story from now on. Just putting this in so I don't throw anyone off.)) I left the boat and the others when we arrived at the New York Harbor. The crew of the ship left soon after it landed so I had to move into the hellish city quickly. As I ran to the city with 15 other people large birds rose from the tops of the skyscrapers. They had huge beaks with teeth and began to swoop and dive toward us. Only a couple of the group made it the the safety of what we later found out was a library. The group that made it was myself, an older man named Kelly, an middle-aged woman named Melody, and I girl who was the same age as me named Haley. I was 19 at this time. We made the library our base of operations but we all called it home. In the way of weapons we had little. I had learned to handle a rifle long before hand but Kelly had been in a couple wars and could handle any firearm. Melody always had her powerful magnum with her and was quite handy with it. Haley had no experience with firearms but she had a very strong sword and knives. I never did figure where she kept all those knives...

After a while, it was just myself and Haley. We had a very good working relationship and we heard about the Alliance from a passing group of survivors. We decided it would be a good idea to join these people so we could have an easier life and we had started to run out of supplies. We started out heading toward the west coast in an abandoned truck we had found a week before. While we were in the midwest Haley was bitten by a snake that wasn't in any of the field guides we had so I had no idea how to counter the venom and...and...she passed away in front of my eyes... She died before I was able to tell her how I really felt..It took me a couple of months to get over it...I think it was several months I don't really remember what happened after she died. After I joined the Alliance I felt a lot better being around others.

In the Alliance I do a lot of guard work. Our camp moves sometimes and I'm responsible for defenses for the base. I moved about the walls around the camp and watch people approach the camp through my scope of my sniper rifle first then if I deem the approaching object safe then I will watch through my telescope which Haley found in New York but gave it to me after we began to move around more. After Hicronimous came back with news of the enemy guild. More survivors from the Brotherhood of Steel began coming around the camp. I asked whether I should stop them from coming but he told me not to. "It's good for our men to see others and trade with them" but I could tell he was a bit uneasy. I remain suspicious of the brotherhood but for now I'll wait.
