Acrid smoke fills the air, the humans have destroyed most of the forest where many animals live. Food has become scarce as prey and predators flee from the devastation of their home. They begin to starve until a rumor of a clan of wolves stealing from humans reach their ears and now they too begin to find a new way of feeding themselves.

Kaylin pawed at the ground in search of scraps from the remains of a wild boar. The bones would be plenty for him to munch on but there wasn't many of those left either just the hooves and tusks and a bit of fur. He decided there was nothing edible left and moved on trying to sniff out some food if not just berries and nuts.

Chika poked her head out of the hole in the ground she had found while escaping the fire. She shook her soot darken fur and looked around feeling very thirsty and hungry. She doubted she would find food here and went in search of water.

((hey I snuck on just so I could post here =^_^=))
He stretched a bit then moved on from where he was. He wasn't going to find any food in this barren land now it was just to...dead. He could go a day or two more without food but he really needed water so that was what he started to look for next. He walked slowly sniffing around trying to pick out a source of water in the air.

Chika found a water source and nearly dipped her head down to drink but noticed a dark sludge oozing into the water. She backed away and decided to move on. Everything was dying or was already dead where she passed. She wondered if she would find anything at all as she walked.

It didn't take long before he found a scent, as weak as it was, but it was a clear scent of water. He followed the scent as far as he could until it reached it's peak. He couldn't see the water anywhere but when he started to sniff around he found the water was under the ground. He started to dig at the spot trying to get to the water.

Chika kept walking sniffing the area around her. She paced a bit on her paws as she tried to find a good water source but none was coming to her.

Finally Kaylin struck gold six feet into the ground as fresh clean water started to fill the hole he'd dug. He loved to dig but he didn't like to dig for no reason. He lapped at the cool semi-clean water that'd started to change color slightly from the dirt.
