Kylie's hand shook as a will not her own forced her to raise the knife. Please, she pleaded. Don't do this.

You have to know. You have to know what it's like! Only then will you understand! Answered the crazed mind of her twin. She could feel him standing behind her, his body shaking with the effort to keep her under control.

"Kylie what're you doing?" Mae whispered. Her dazed eyes only registering that her friend was holding a knife in front of her.

Tears filled her silver eyes at the look of trust mingled with confusion that occupied Mae's face. "Trust me," her traitorous mouth said.

Kail turned at the shout. An evil look of rage and pain twisting his face. He raised his hand and halted Shoko's flight through the air. "Another friend Kylie? You seem to have so many these days." He sneered. He paused, considering the paralyzed girl for a moment. "Two for two. Wouldn't that make sense dear sister?" He crooned, with a sadistic smile.

Kylie didn't answer. Couldn't answer. Her twin was sweating. She could feel it. He was exhausted, the strain of keeping her under control was harsh enough. But, now he was using telekinesis as well. She didn't answer because she didn't want him to hear what she was planning.

Kail's control on her was slipping, cracking. She could feel the hairline fractures in the shield he had woven so carefully around her unguarded mind. With a little more pushing maybe, just maybe.....

Her thoughts were interrupted by Kail's once again ruthless assault on her thoughts. She felt the knife wielding hand begin it's ascension again. She closed her eyes, shutting out what she was about to do. Instead she concentrated on breaking free.... Just a little, all I need is a little...

The knife plunged downward. Warmth gushed over her hand. Someone screamed.




Kail screamed. "NO!" He caught her before she slipped to the ground, the knife still lodged deep in her abdomen. He felt her pain as if it were his own. And why wouldn't he? She was his twin, her pain was his pain.

Clyde approached slowly with Ayeka in tow. "Is she okay?" He called out warily, not sure who he was asking about.



He hugged her to his chest, staring with broken eyes at the six inch blade embedded in Kylie's stomach. "I can fix this. You're gonna be okay. I can fix this," he repeated over and over to himself.

He shivered as Kouja slithered over his skin. "I'd wondered why Glaeda disappeared." The ebony dragon said. Kain looked down and watched as the reptile surveyed their predicament from the skin of his forearm.

"I can't live without her," he sobbed. "I-I'm not sure if I can s-save her."

Kouja's head snapped up. "Don't be ridiculous," he snapped. "Of course you can live without her. Family is for the weak!"

Kain watched the blood form a small river down Kylie's navel. "You're wrong. I need her." He whispered.

A red form scurried across her skin. "What have you done?!" Kylie's guardian demanded, her voice panicked.



"Check her wounds for glass," Clyde instructed Shoko as he got closer. "We need to do at least that much before we move her."

Mae was unconscious now. Her tired mind had not been able to accept her closest friend's actions.

Pain, that's all she could feel. Pain. Why won't it end?

Suddenly something warm swept through her body, stripping her of the pain. A red presence appeared in her mind. Glaeda....

You have to fight this. Fight! The red dragon instructed. Don't let the darkness win. Don't let your brother be destroyed by this.

At the thought of her other half, Kylie felt herself rise up slightly out of the black mist that enshrouded her consciousness. Her damaged physical body waited for her she knew. It'll kill me, she said with conviction. There is too much pain there. The body is too broken.

No. The red presence had now transformed into the massive behemoth that Glaeda had become over the years. The great head lowered until it was eye level with Kylie's mental self. You will fight.

Kylie gasped as her body was thrown from the astral plane. The pain she had expected to hit as she reentered her physical form never came. Everything felt numb.



Kail heard a small gasp and felt his twin awaken. "Kylie?" He whispered.

No answer.

"I'm going to pull the knife out.... I'm not sure if I can heal it.. there's so much-" He choked. "I'm going to try," he finished.

Kouja slithered angrily over his skin but, Kail ignored him and wrapped his fingers around the hilt of the six inch stiletto.

(Don't mean to get your hopes up about another post because I'm too tired tonight. Just wanted to let you know that I read it and it's cool, you can change the names, I think I've changed her evil twin's name a few times because I keep forgetting it. razz Just let me know who's who and I'll try to reply sometime this week)

*sigh* Or I'll just reply now since you take forever and you can like it.







Clyde gently pulled Ayeka away from Mae. "It's probably best that you don't squeeze her like that," he whispered. Carefully, he cradled Mae's damaged body against his chest and stood. "We should take her to a hospi-" He stopped, his words caught in his throat at the scene laid out before him.




Without almost any sound at all the knife made it's slow ascent from Kylie's abdomen. A rush of crimson flowed past the blade.

Kail placed his other hand over his twins heart, willing his power to save her. Finally the weapon came free and he felt her convulse slightly at it's absence.

"Hurry," Glaeda groaned, appearing to grow translucent against Kylie's skin.
