Chapter 13 :
The next day Kacey didn’t tell anyone about what her and Erik had found. She had put the letter from Xavier in her drawer. The night before she had read it again for reassurance. When she realized what Xavier was going to ask before he died, she couldn’t believe it. She would have said yes she would marry him. But now she would never get the chance to.
Kacey sat with everyone else in the living room, and they were all just joking around with one another. This had been the first time that they had been able to joke around since Xavier died. They were beginning to recover from shock. “Yeah Bridget you know you like that.”, Maria replied as everyone laughed.
But suddenly out of nowhere a voice rang. “Go ahead laugh all you can. Because once I get finished with you, you won’t been around to laugh anymore.”, and with that Ciaran appeared out of the darkness. They all jumped up ready to fight. Kaley, Taylor, Maria gathered together. “Why are you here?”, Arianna asked angrily. “I am here to propose a final battle between you and us. Fight till the death.”, Ciaran replied. There was a moment of silence. Everyone looked at one another. Then Arianna spoke. “We except.”, she said. “Alright then. We will meet out in the country. Away from your elements and mine. Tomorrow night.”, Ciaran replied turning to leave. “Oh hey Ciaran.”, a voice said. Ciaran turned around and came face to face with Kacey. “You can tell you little buddy Alex, he will be the first one that dies by my hand. And he can count on that.”, Kacey said in a low voice. “I will make sure he knows that.”, Ciaran said as he disappeared back into the shadows.
“Guys, are you sure about this, I mean, it could be a trap.”, Kaley spoke up. “We really don’t have a choice. If we don’t end it now, they might end it for us.”, Bridget replied. “Bridget’s right. So we need to be ready. Come on.”, Erik said walking towards the door. Everybody followed. They followed him to two big wooden doors. He pushed the doors open, and revealed a huge room.
It was a training room. It had hardwood floors, practice dummies, punching bags, and other training equipment. “Wow!”, Maria said in amazement. “Yeah wow. Why didn’t you guys ever show this to us before?”, Taylor asked. “Because you never asked.”, Andre replied, as they walked to the middle of the room. “Well we better get started.”, Erik said as he unbuttoned his shirt and revealed a white wife beater, Andre did the same. Erik and Arianna sparred with their powers. Andre and Bridget sparred together. Kacey just went and began punching the punching bag. She punched it until her hands hurt and even then, she didn’t stop. Arianna saw that.
Later on that night, Kacey went and sat in Xavier’s secret place on the roof. The place he had gone to think. Kacey began to wonder about what he would think about. Did he think about their future together? Did he think about if they were going to have children? He had, had such a complex mind, it was hard to ever know what he was thinking. But he seemed to know what she was always thinking.
Kacey knew that tomorrow night, they would have a long battle ahead of them. It was not about revenge for their parents anymore. It was revenge for Xavier and the others that Ciaran and his followers killed. They had to make Ciaran pay for the pain he and his followers caused for so many people. People who were helpless. And Kacey knew that she and the others would have to be strong in order to win this battle.

Chapter 14:
The next night seemed like it took no time to get there. The day had passed by so quickly. It felt as though they had just closed their eyes, when the sun rose. And then the night came even quicker.
Kacey, Arianna, Erik, Bridget and Andre each dressed for the battle. Each of them wore crosses around their necks and small vials of holy water on their belts. When it was time to leave, Arianna told Kaley, Taylor, and Maria, “If anything happens when we’re gone, get to the attic, and stay there.”. “We will, you guys just be careful. And come back safe.”, Taylor replied. They nodded.
They were on their way. Kacey drove Xavier’s street bike, and behind her was Arianna, Erik, Bridget, and Andre in Arianna’s Volvo. Arianna was driving. Arianna looked at her sister who was speeding in front of them. “I hope she’ll be ok.”, Arianna said. “She’ll be fine. She needs this Arianna. Once Ciaran is gone, she’ll be back to her normal self.”, Erik replied. “To tell you the truth, I don’t think she will ever be the same without Xavier.”, Arianna added. Maybe she was right. Maybe she was wrong. But no one would know until it was over.
They finally reached their destination. A barren place out in the country. Very few trees and lots of rocks and boulders. A perfect place for a battle. Ciaran and his followers were already there. The first person Kacey laid eyes on was Alex. He grinned at her and revealed a pair of sharp fangs . That’s when she realized that Ciaran had turned him.
“Alright, since you five have decided to show your faces. Lets get it started.”, Ciaran said as Carmilla, Ruthven, Alucard, Claudia, Armand, Mekare, and Alex stood next to him. Kacey, Arianna, Erik, Bridget, and Andre readied themselves. Silence was heard as the groups stared at their opponents. Suddenly Ciaran said, “Get them!”, and his followers charged towards Kacey and the others. Kacey, her sisters, and the brothers, eyes turned black as night as they too charged.
Kacey went for Alex first, Arianna and Erik went for Carmilla and Ruthven, and Bridget and Andre went for Alucard and Claudia. Kacey used her telekinesis to throw Alex into a tree, which just seemed useless. Alex knocked Kacey to the ground and kicked her in the side, and she heard one of her ribs crack. She howled in pain, as she threw Alex off her and quickly healed her cracked rib. She took out a vile of holy water and threw it at Alex, but he dodged it.
Arianna tripped Carmilla who tried to punch Arianna. But Carmilla rebounded and kicked Arianna in the back and knocked her into a boulder. When Arianna got her feet, she put her fingers to her mouth and discovered that her lip was bleeding. “You bimbo!”, Arianna said as she punched Carmilla in the nose. Carmilla quickly covered her nose. And when she moved her hands, there was blood pouring from her nose. While Carmilla was distracted, Arianna threw a vile of holy water at her. It hit her and shattered, Carmilla screamed as she burst into flames. “Revelations honey, Revelations.”, Arianna said smartly as she rushed off to help the others.
Erik was running around Ruthven, invisible, sucker punching him when he got the chance. Ruthven couldn’t seem to grab him. But finally, he tripped Erik who fell on the ground, visible again. Ruthven grabbed Erik by the throat and held him up in the air. Struggling, Erik pulled out a vile and poured the water into Ruthven’s eyes. Ruthven screamed as he burst into flames.
Bridget had already defeated Claudia, and was now helping Andre who was still fighting Alucard. Andre had completely knocked Alucard unconscious, Bridget poured holy water on him and he burst into flames. Arianna had already defeated Mekare. Now it was down to Kacey and Alex.
At this point, Kacey had scrapes and bruises on her arms, and a cut above her eyebrow. Alex seemed almost unscathed. Kacey tried to kick Alex, but Alex grabbed her leg and tossed her on the ground. “I’m gonna kill you, just like I killed your boyfriend.”, Alex said smiling evilly. Then suddenly out of nowhere, Kacey jumped up and stabbed Alex with a stake through his heart. “Not today your not.”, she said as she poured a vile of holy water on him. Alex screamed in agony as he burst into flames.
“No! How could you defeat my entire army?!”, Ciaran asked angrily. “We’re good like that. So Ciaran you can give up now, or we will kill you by force.”, Bridget said. “Force me”, Ciaran said throwing off his cloak. That’s when the battle began again. Andre made his hand turn into iron and he tried to hit Ciaran but he dodged it. Ciaran grabbed Andre’s hand and tossed him into a huge boulder. Arianna threw Ciaran to the ground, but Ciaran rebounded and kicked her into a tree.
Erik tried to trip Ciaran, but Ciaran tossed him to the ground. Bridget tried to stop time so that she could kill Ciaran, but Ciaran wasn’t affected and Bridget was thrown into a boulder. “You are all so weak.”, Ciaran said laughing. Kacey charged at Ciaran, she threw him into a tree. Ciaran got up and grabbed Kacey by the throat and shoved her up against the tree. Kacey’s breathe escaped her. She could feel his hands tightening around her throat. “Finally, I will kill you. And there is no one here to protect you this time.”, Ciaran said as a dagger appeared in his hand. Kacey’s eyes grew huge, then suddenly closed as Ciaran brought the knife down on her.

Chapter 15:
Kacey waited for the pain from the searing blade. But it never came. That’s when she realized that someone had stopped the blade. Kacey opened her eyes, and she saw a man with the most beautiful brown eyes and black raven hair. Kacey could not believe her eyes. The man that stood in front of her and had fought Ciaran off, was the man she thought she had lost just 2 weeks ago. “Xavier?”, Kacey said as her eyes welled up with tears. It was him. He stood fine and well.
“You? I thought you were dead?”, Ciaran said angrily. “Well I guess that’s what you get for doing your own thinking.”, Xavier said as he threw the dagger at Ciaran, stabbing him in the stomach. “Now Kacey!”, Xavier yelled as Ciaran fell to the ground. Kacey pulled out her last two vials of holy water, and threw them at Ciaran, and he burst into flames. Forever paying for his sins..
Kacey still stood rooted to the spot that she had been when Xavier appeared. Xavier turned to Kacey. They stand into one another’s eyes. “Kacey.”, Xavier said. She couldn’t stand it anymore. Her heart had been broken for so long. She had been without his kiss and his touch. Kacey broke into a run, and ran into his embrace. “Xavier I thought you were gone. Why didn’t you tell me you were alive?”, Kacey asked a tears fell slowly down her cheeks. “I couldn’t risk Ciaran finding out.”, Xavier replied, he too had tears falling from his eyes.
They were about to share a kiss, when the others appeared. “Oh my God. Xavier is that you?”, Erik asked stunned. Xavier nodded. Erik hugged his brother.
“It’s good to have you back.”, Andre said also hugging his brother. “How is it possible though?”, Bridget asked. “When I died, I did actually die. But my human half was still alive.”, Xavier replied. “But what about your vampire half?”, Arianna asked. “I can now control it. It will only come out if I want it to.”, Xavier answered. “Which means you can come home.”, Kacey replied grabbing his hand. Xavier smiled and nodded.
With that, they all headed for home. Xavier rode with Kacey, but this time, Xavier drove. When they arrived home, Kaley, Taylor, and Maria were waiting. They were ecstatic to see Xavier. A little confused, until Xavier explained what happened. Kacey healed any injuries that were sustained during the battle.
Xavier stood on the roof, his favorite place. He stared out over the estate. And looked up at the sky. The stars twinkling ever so brightly. “I see why you liked it up here so much.”, a voice said. Xavier turned around to see Kacey standing there. “While you were gone, I would come up here whenever I felt lonely. When I was up here, it felt like you were here with me.”, Kacey told him as she walked up next to him. “It’s because I was with you.”, Xavier replied. Kacey looked at him. “You mean all those times I felt another presence. It was you?”, she asked.
He nodded. “I would go to your room at night and watch you sleep. I wanted so bad for you to know that I was alive. Every time you cried, I wanted to be there for you. To comfort you. But I didn’t want to put you in danger.”, Xavier told her. “I know.”, Kacey replied. Xavier glanced down at her hand and saw the ring. “So, I see you found the box.”, Xavier said. “Yeah, with a little help from Erik. If he hadn’t found the key. I wouldn’t have found the box.”, Kacey replied.
“Well I meant what I said. I was going to ask you but all these things started happening and I never got a chance to. So I guess now is a good a time as any.”, Xavier said. He took Kacey’s hands into his.
“Kacey. I love you so much. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. As long as you’ll have me.”, Xavier asked. “Yes. Yes I will.”, Kacey said as they shared a warm embrace. Xavier gently pulled Kacey’s chin and closed with a passionate chaste kiss. They had been through so much. So many trials they had to go through.
It sometimes felt as though they would have never been happy. But now they could. Now they could live together forever and not have to worry about anything coming between them ever again. When the kiss ended, they went downstairs and told everyone the good news. Arianna also had a little surprise for everyone as well.

Chapter 16:
Eight months of planning had come and passed. Now it was time for a huge event. Kacey and Xavier’s wedding. Kacey stood in front of a full length mirror. She wore a simple white wedding gown. The sleeves hung loosely around Kacey’s shoulders. Suddenly Kacey heard the door open and turned to see Arianna standing there. “You look beautiful.”, Arianna said as she looked at her sister.
“Thank you. So how is my little niece doing”, Kacey said rubbing Arianna’s round belly. “She is doing fine. But is causing mommy to have to go to the bathroom every five minutes.”, Arianna replied. Kacey smiled as she turned around and looked in the mirror again. “I can’t believe this day is finally here. I have waited for so long. It’s just hard to believe.”, Kacey said. “Well believe it. You deserve it. Both of you do. And we are all happy for you.”, Arianna replied as she helped Kacey put on her veil.
“Thank you.”, Kacey replied hugging her sister tightly. When the embrace broke, Arianna stepped back and said, “You better get out there, everyone is waiting.”,. Arianna turned and left out of the room. Kacey grabbed her bouquet and joined the others outside.
Xavier stood at the alter, with Andre and Erik standing next to him. He too couldn’t believe that today was the day. But it was. The wedding was on the beach. It was also under a full moon with candle lit lanterns. Xavier wore a white dress shirt and black dress pants, Andre and Erik were dressed like that also. And he was barefooted, like everyone else was. Suddenly, the music began to play. First came the flower girls. They both wore little white dresses. Then came the ring bearer, who was dressed similar to Xavier.
Next came the bridesmaids. There was Maria, Kaley, Taylor, and Bridget. Each of the bridesmaids had on sky blue dresses. Then came the matron of honor, which was Arianna. She wore a blue gown also. She was being escorted down the aisle by Erik. Then it came time for the bride.
As everyone turned to watch for Kacey, “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion began to play. Then she appeared. Kacey walked down the aisle wearing her white wedding gown and see through veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses. When she made it to the alter, she stood and faced Xavier. He took his hands and lifted her veil. She saw him mouth the words “You look beautiful.”,. Then the preacher began to speak.
“Today we are here to witness the marriage of Xavier Leviette and Kacey Thorn. First I will ask if there is anyone here who thinks that these two should not be married speak now or forever hold your peace.”, the preacher said. Everyone seemed to glance at Arianna. But she didn’t say anything. “So be it. Now Xavier do you take Kacey to be your wife? To have and to hold as long as you both shall live?”, the preacher asked. Xavier looked into Kacey’s eyes and smiled. “I do.”, he said. “Kacey do you take Xavier to be your husband. To have and to hold as long as you both shall live?”, the preacher asked. Kacey looked into Xavier’s eyes and smiled also. “I do.”, she replied.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”, the preacher said. Kacey and Xavier smiled and shared a passionate kiss. Everyone around them clapped and cheered. Xavier then picked Kacey up in his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and he carried her down the aisle.
Later, it was time for the reception. First, they cut the cake. The cake was white with red roses decorated on it. Kacey shoved cake in Xavier’s mouth and Xavier shoved some in Kacey’s mouth. Everybody laughed. Then It was time to catch the bouquet. When Kacey tossed it, Maria caught it. Then it came time for the bride and groom’s first dance. “Everything I do I’d Do It For You” by Bryan Adams began to play. Xavier and Kacey walked to the middle of the dance floor and began to dance. Then slowly, everyone began to join them. Kacey laid on her head against her husband’s chest as they danced. Once the dancing was over the gifts came after that. Once everything was taken care of. All of the guests went home and left the newlyweds alone. Since they were alone, they decided to go walk on the beach under the moon light.
They walked hand in hand down the beach. The waves gently washing up against the shore. They had already changed out of their wedding clothes. Xavier wore his normal wife beater and jeans. Kacey, a red spaghetti strap tank top and shorts. They stopped and looked up at the moon shone like a diamond on the surface of the water. Kacey looked up at Xavier. “Well, we made it.”, she said. He looked at her and replied, “Yeah, and I’ve never been so happy.”. Kacey smiled and pulled Xavier’s hand to her lips and gently kissed it. Xavier took both of Kacey’s hands and kissed them gently.
“All this time I truly believed I was a monster. I never thought this was possible. I was surrounded by darkness, and had no intention of bringing anyone else into it. But you ran into my dark world head on, and saved me. You showed me that I wasn’t a monster and even I could be happy.” Kacey smiled and touched his cheek. She then kissed him. Xavier looked at her and smirked. He then suddenly lifts her up, and runs head on into the water, and throws her into the water. “Xavier!”, Kacey yelled as she laughed. She grabbed him and pulled him down into the water too. After wrestling in the water for a minute, Xavier stood up and helped Kacey to her feet.
They walked up the beach, a safe distance away from the waves and sat down. They both laid down and stared at the stars. Xavier had his arm wrapped around Kacey and held her tightly. They laid there, sharing kiss after kiss. They were finally together forever and nothing could tear them apart. They could only wonder what the future held for them. As long they were together, they would be able to overcome anything.

Chapter 17:
One Year Later -
Xavier stood by Kacey’s side, holding her hand. Arianna also at her side. Kacey lay in a hospital bed, pains wracked her body. Xavier and Kacey were expecting their first child.
“Alright, in just a few minutes, we are gonna have ourselves a baby.”, the doctor said, as he allowed Kacey to rest. Kacey looked up at Xavier. “You’re doing fine. Everything’s going to be okay.”, he told her, giving her a reassuring smile. She smiled back. Then the doctor spoke again. “Alright, now it’s time to push.”.
“Ok, Mrs. Leviette. Push! Push!”, the doctor said. Kacey did as she was told. “Come on Kacey, you can do it.”, Arianna said coaching her sister. “Ok, just one more big push and the baby will be out.”, doctor said. Kacey nodded. She gave one last push. Then baby cries filled the air. “It’s a girl!”, the doctor said as he cleaned the baby off and handed her to Kacey. “She’s so beautiful.”, Xavier said.
“She looks like her dad.”, Kacey replied. Kacey and Xavier shared a kiss. Kacey was right. The baby had black hair like Xavier and she had her father’s beautiful brown eyes. Kacey handed the baby to Xavier. He looked at his daughter with loving eyes. “Wait, you haven’t named her yet.”, Bridget said. “Yeah, what are you gonna name her?”, Arianna asked.
“I thought about it, and I want her to have a name that means something. So I have decided that she shall have the first name of Hope. Her middle name will be Annaleise, after Mom, and of course she’ll have the last name of Leviette.”, Kacey replied. “So there you have it. Hope Annaleise Leviette.”, Xavier replied.
Once everyone left, Kacey took a nap to regain her strength. When she woke up she looked over in the corner and saw Xavier sitting in the rocking chair, holding Hope. He rocked slowly back and forth. He just looked at her with a sort of glimmer in his eye. “How does it feel to be a father?’, Kacey asked. He looked up and saw that she was awake. He got up and went sat next to her on the bed. “It feels wonderful.”, he replied smiling.
“How can you love someone so much, that you just met?”, he asked. “It’s not too hard. That’s how I felt about you.”, Kacey replied. “What are we gonna do about her powers?”, Xavier asked. “I guess we’ll have to teach her how to use them as she grows up. And you no that’s gonna be fun.”, Kacey replied. Xavier smiled. “Yeah, but we’ll enjoy it every step of the way.”, Xavier said. Kacey nodded.
There they sat, looking at the new addition to their family. Now their family was complete. The next generation of Leviettes and Thorns had been born and the legendary families would continue their magical heritage to make the world a better place.
