"I'm sure a majority of the board of directors understands how beneficial this is for Project Jigsaw. The results," meaning Skitz as Gabriel and one of the assistants to the CEOs he had just addressed headed toward the elevator to head back down to the patient floors, "despite his many psychiatric and psychosomatic conditions, have been promising."
"The board agreed now but how long do you think it will last?" A young woman with light skin, black hair, and pale green eyes walked next to Gabriel, her height up to about his shoulder. Her age indicated she was probably an intern at best. Not much else about her that would say she was important to the hospital.
"Until Dr. McKenna leaves, I suppose." The two entered the elevator and headed back down for another day. Gabriel was in silent thought until the intern piped up again.
"You know, Dr. Gray, I've always found it strange you don't treat Skitz yourself. Why not?" It was a fair question Gabriel had heard over and over again. If he created Skitz, why didn't he want to see that his mental conditions improved?
On his way to deliver Sen's new file to Suma, Skitz hummed quietly to himself as he walked down a long hall facing windows on one side. It was another nice day, warm and sunny. The location of the hospital rarely had any meteorological threats so it was only the patients the doctors had to worry about. Passing a group of investors on tour of the lower grounds, Skitz looked at them when they huddled to the other side of the hall as he walked by. It wasn't his appearance that caused them to shy away but the fact that he was dressed as a patient. Skitz, as far as he knew, was the only patient allowed to freely roam the building. Then again, he was the only patient who was also an employee at the hospital. Continuing through the maze of floors and halls, Skitz came to the room Suma was treating Sen in and knocked lightly before opening the door a crack. "Dr. McKenna?"

Suma turned to look at Skitz as he poked his head in and forced a smile. "Skitz." She stands and heads over to the door. "Is there something I can help you with?"
Sen's eyes narrow at the interruption, clearly he was not used to having people burst in on a session. He did not like things that he could not control, and Skitz was going to be something that he couldn't control.

Skitz was a bit frozen in Sen's presence, not hearing Suma at first. Finally, her voice broke through his fear and he tensed a bit. He could feel goosebumps on his skin and his ears flattened while his tail curled at his feet. "Um..." Skitz, being of a unique composite DNA design, had many naturally super-enhanced senses. Like when a lesser wolf faced the leader of the pack, he instinctively felt the need to cower in Sen's presence. "...um..." He looked down at the file, remembering why he was there and that he could leave as soon as he gave Suma the file. "I, uh, brought you your patient's new file. It's been put into this hospital's databank and Dr. Gray has added some of his perspective into the notes." As he handed it over, Skitz couldn't help but lock eyes with Sen again.

Suma smiled again as she took the file from Skitz. "Thank you. Let Dr. Gray know that I will look this over and seek him out as soon as I am done." Suma looked over her shoulder at Sen, knowing the effect he had on people. "Sen."
Sen had been staring intently at Skitz for a few moments before Suma said his name. He continued to stare for a few more moments before turning his gaze on Suma. A wicked smiled twisted his face before he put his head on the table.

"I,uh...I-I....yes, ma'am!" Skitz backed up to the wall, felt for the doorknob, then slipped out within only a few seconds. What a terrifying man. Skitz could only hope he'd never have to cross paths with him again. He wandered back through the halls before returning to a familiar post. Gabriel was already in a therapy session with Cor so he sat down in the observation deck and got to work documenting the session.
"You know, Dr. Gray, I am deeply disappointed in you." Cor tilted his head and smiled as he arched a brow. He leaned back in his seat and shifted his arms in the restraints of the straight jacket.
Gabriel, having put the meeting with the board out of his mind to focus on Cor, tilted his head. He had no notebook, no clipboard...nothing. He never brought anything but himself to his sessions with Cor. "Disappointed?"
"Incredibly, Dr. Gray. Yesterday was no as eventful as you promised. I met no one new."
Gabriel narrowed his eyes and rested his chin on his knuckles, propped up by the armrest. "I see. I apologize, Cor. I didn't realize you had any actual interest in meeting Dr. McKenna or her patient."
"I assume you only have my best interests at heart. We define curiosity as a desire to learn something we either don't know or don't know enough about. You took the time to tell me about their arrival, peaking my curiosity." Cor, despite his many mental obstacles, was a very eloquent speaker for 15-year-old. However, he only spoke rationally to Gabriel. Other doctors had tried in the past but Gabriel Gray was the only successor. Before the good doctor had come to the hospital, Cor was violently unpredictable and more than likely would have spent his life in solitary confinement.

Suma walks out behind Skitz a few minutes later, file in hand. Deciding she needed some coffee, Suma headed for the elevator, head bent as she started to read the file.
Aurielle walks into the session with Cor. Keeping to the shadows so as to remain unseens.

When the elevator stopped on the next floor, Dr. Rain stepped in with a smile on her face when she saw Suma so distracted. She walked in and stood next to her in silence. Once the elevator started moving again, she decided to interrupt. "Must be an interesting read."
Gabriel narrowed his eyes very slightly, indiscriminately enough so Cor didn't notice right away. He knew someone had entered the room but Cor and Skitz would need to see Aurielle. He leaned back in his chair, dropping his hand to lay flat on the armrest. He then proceeded with the session as if she wasn't there. "Would you like to meet Dr. McKenna?"
"Dr. Gray, how generous of you to offer me a choice. But do I truly have one?" Cor found this amusing. "Come now, Dr. Gray, any and every person loses their right to choice when they become a patient."
"Free will is lost. You can still make decisions. There's just a high probability they will be ignored."
"Ah, yes. Intriguing argument, Dr. Gray. Free will is a conscious determination, is it not?"
"It can be. What do you think is the line between free will and conscious determination, Cor?" As usual, Gabriel and Cor always had the strangest, but most intellectual, conversations. It was usually never concerned with finding the route of Cor's mental health issues. They'd already established the harm from his youth as the cause for his personality but to number his personality could risk his intelligence. Or so Gabriel theorized.
Cor laughed a bit and crossed his legs on the chair as he leaned forward against the harness that kept him seated. It was clear he was getting into the conversation now. "Dr. Gray. I perceive that line to be when conscious determination mingles with primal instinct. We are aware of our decisions until instinct forces us to make them."
"And free will...?"
"Allows us to make decisions against our primal instincts. Intuition becomes secondary to choice." Cor straightened up as Gabriel nodded in agreement.
"So then choice becomes irrelevant because we don't need it for survival." The conversation had taken quite a change of course. It went from a simple meeting with a new doctor to a discussion over the relevancy of choice in comparison to instinct.

color=purple]Suma looks at Dr. Rain as she closes the file. "Yes it is." She smiles. "Where are you going?"
Aurielle watches interested in the turn of events. She was going to know everything about Dr. Gray and Cor if she was going to get Sen out from under Suma's watchful eye.

"Tough call. I don't have a therapy session until 2 so it's either break in the new interns or listen in on today's episode of Cor's twisted mind." Rain was acting much nicer than she was the day before. It could have simply been that Suma was new and considering the reputation of the hospital, it was a tightly knit group of doctors. "Cor really is a fascinating patient. You'll have to tell me how it goes when you meet him."
"I have a question for YOU, Dr. Gray..." Cor said as he narrowed his eyes, looking a bit maniacal as he lowered his voice.
"Curious. I'm inclined to answer if I'm able." Gabriel's mind was on the extra presence in the room but he couldn't let it show. Besides, he always enjoyed his conversations with Cor.
"Well, that's just it, Dr. Gray. That was my question. Do you have free will...?"
Gabriel stared at his patient in silence for a moment. "...interesting. Truly, Cor, you ask me an interesting question..."
"You have a status that proceeds most, Dr. Gray. A mind unrivaled...but if you had a mind UNraveled, would someone like you be better off?"
"In a question of free will. If we are all born with free will and inherit the power to use it as we grow, then yes. However..."
"However...?" Cor leaned forward in anticipation.
"To obtain that status you speak of, sacrifice was required. I have to separate free and will. I will remains but the freedom is restricted."
"To maintain one's position in life, they must adhere to what's expected of them. Like a primal instinct born from free will itself. You now act accordingly to what's expected. Not from within but from society around you."
"Brilliant deduction, Cor."
"A brilliant truth, Dr. Gray. Society promotes an act that doesn't exist...it is simply a phase, not a right."
"I agree. Each person must decide if they want the responsibility of free will."
"Responsibility, Dr. Gray...?"
"Free will allows us to do as we desire. If we relinquish it, we don't need to worry. Free will is quite the responsibility."
"Brilliant deduction. One day, I feel we shall see each other from the opposite side, Dr. Gray..."

"I have seen him before. I am hoping to introduce Cor to Sen." Suma answers back friendly enough, she remembers the events of the day before, and though she is willing to over look them, she knows that people do not change that easily. "I will let you know my opinion when I have formed one."

"Ah, yes. The patient you brought with you." There was a strange tone in Rain's voice. Not exactly a disdain or fear but some strange combination of the two. No doubt, the word of Sen's personality had spread around the hospital since the day before. Fortunately, the chime from the elevator stopping broke the awkward silence. "Eighth floor. More or less, Gabriel's private floor. All of his work is performed here." Ok, NOW there was a bit disdain in Rain's voice as she stepped off. "Everything from therapy to surgery." She stopped a few feet from the door and looked back. "Are you looking for Gabriel, Dr. McKenna?"
Back in therapy while Skitz was typing up the conversation with his three-fingered hands, Gabriel and Cor continued to square off in a sort of battle of words. Cor's last remark about seeing Gabriel from the other side one day was interesting. "I truly hope so, Cor..."
Cor raised an eyebrow at this counter. He huffed a bit and leaned back in his chair. "Dreams and reality...ambition and truth..."
"You don't think it will happen?"
"Are you not a realist, Dr. Gray...?" Cor was now gazing off to the side, still with an arched brow and glaring at nothing. "My place is not debatable, Dr. Gray."
Gabriel stared at Cor for a moment. So intelligent yet so...insane? That is the word used to describe the 15 year old patient admitted against his will solely on his upbringing. After a moment, he stood and this caused Cor to look back to his doctor. "That will be all for now, Cor."
"Already...? It's only been 49 minutes and 17 seconds, Dr. Gray. Are you not interested in the full hour? Do my words strike a nerve within yourself, Dr. Gray?"
"Not nerve. A revelation of free will. Perhaps free will is debatable." With Cor's silence, clearly going into thought, Gabriel turned to leave.

Suma smiles and steps out of the elevator. "Yes I was hoping to speak with him before I left for the day. I won't be long, but if you need to speak with him as well I can wait here." Suma understood the impact Sen had on the patients and the doctors. She was not willing to change hospitals again, however.

"Speak with him? Oh...no. I just wanted to listen in on his session with Cor. Plus, I need to reschedule my therapy session with Skitz. He's a very...troubled patient." Troubled? Yea, Rain would know. It was pretty obvious, even in the short time Suma had been there, that that was an understatement. Most of the patient's seemed that way...good thing the doctor's were the polar opposite. Just like Suma and Sen, it takes a great mind to counter great insanity. She walked right into the observation room, scaring Sktiz right out of his chair. However, she paid no mind and walked over to see if Gabriel and Cor were still talking. "It's not 11 yet..."
"W-We...w-well, D...D...Dr..." Skitz couldn't even speak as he crawled back into his spinning chair. Cor was sitting down below, deep in thought about his conversation with Gabriel. The seemingly terrified Skitz recovered a bit when he saw Suma with Rain, smiling weakly at her. "Good day, Dr. McKenna." Not a single word stuttered and Rain noticed.
