from what i was taught- I've read from many that at first it started off as just vampyres. As times came, many started to experiment with bloodletting and magic. (This also deals with alchemy.) Something happened while a few were bloodletting and the chemicals had got inside the blood stream, killing the vampyres cells; or moreso, redirecting them into human cells. These ones were cast out, and began to reproduce. After centuries, the vampyres began to die out, and then they found that the ones they cast out controlled some substance to keep a vampyre sane.
now- your thoughts on how or what YOU were taught

I have never been taught anything about Vampires or the Vampiric condition. Most of what I know comes from my own internal searchings and regular good old fashioned research.
My personal beliefs are controversal. Usually because I refuse to call myself human (although I let others do so.) The rest is still a jumbled mess and not in coherint form, at least not anything that anyone else might understand.

I believe vampires, be they sanguine or psion are just like humans except we have a few added quirks, the need to feed on dwyfr (chi/prana) in one way or another, and the blow it deals to the immune system if we don't to name just a two. We're not supernatural beings but somewhere between 'normal' and preternatural, but all outward appearances we are 'normal' but as stated before science has yet to find a reason why we are the way we are.

My own personal theory is that vampires personal energies function differently than those of the average person in some fundamental ways. Most of the vampires I know function in a way very similar to will workers energy wise. Most will workers I know also have some level of the need to replenish the energy that they expend in will working. I've often wondered if there is a connection there but have no way of proving or disproving it. On another note, I've seen a couple of people get a serious hole punched in their heart chakra and develop the need and other vampire like traits but I wouldn't really call them vampires. All in all I know that there is more that i don't know than what I do know and I'm eager to learn more about the vampire phenomenon, how the need works, what creates it and how it can be adapted to or overcome.

I was never told anything, but the more I look into the subject the more I think that the cause is either completely obscure to us or there is more than one root cause for vampirism, resulting in very similar symptoms.
All the theories could very well be right. There's no one to grade the papers.

We're not supernatural beings but somewhere between 'normal' and preternatural, but all outward appearances we are 'normal' but as stated before science has yet to find a reason why we are the way we are. I've never really taken much thought about why some are vampires but i have always felt like the chakra/chi theory rang true for me. Like I read somewhere it's as if a vampire has a leaky bucket of water that needs to keep being filled up. I also agree that we are not supernatural, just extra-natural :] I feel I have an extreme leak in the way my psi energy is stored. That's why I am mostly purely sanguinarian because I can't hold onto energy in any other form for longer than a few hours. I can't channel it either unless I am unaware of it, for example when in close bodily contact with people and I'm very "thirsty". I guess an act of self preservation. So maybe our energy is just stored in different or less efficient ways than humans?

Eh, my thought on the topic is a bit loose and not set in stone at the moment, I'm still doing alot of research-which is hell trying to sift through all the bs sites...
Currently I believe sanguinarians are humans with a condition/mutation that formed centuries ago. How? I'm not exactly sure. Same goes for psions, I believe tho that there are many more ways to be born as or to become a psyvamp.
Anybody recommend certain sites good on sanguinarianism or psychic-vampirism?

That and for my and of the psi part I can drain the negative thoughts out of people, and make them feel better... A lot of people thank me for this... even though I don't tell them why I have the ability to do this..Even though there is a science behind it, I'm secretive about it, due to the fact that MANY people view us as being of myth.
