// A canyon that once was a magnificent wonder, then the fire engulfed it and it is slowly recovering. Ash still lays everywhere and few green things are hard to find. The river that runs through it's belly is slowly starting to clear the ash that tainted it. Llahs that would live hate hearts as black as the charred cliff walls, it is a harsh and unforgiving land. //

Rahl let out a low snort, ears flicking scanning like dishes as he glanced around the area..It was desolate in a way but it also held the possibility of life, they would have little to worry in the way of..ah unwanted guests out here in this scorched land.
He shuddered beneath his own pelt, it was getting warm, and he wanted to make it down close to where the river ran before the sun got to high in the sky. "Keeh..come on the rest of you.." they weren't much, really just a bunch of misfits, two shut ins an over exuberant little yearling, and of course his little prince..Feh foals, sometimes he couldnt even believe it the fact that hed bore sons, but he was proud of this one, had even chosen to take him along when hed left the foals mother.
The littlest one let out a small high pitched bray, hed been playing with kibri this whole time as theyd followed his father into the hot canyon, the two youngest kept in the middle of the herd for the most protection well if you could call it a herd.
Reno nipped at kibris heels again grinning as it made her giggle and playfully kick back at him. Occasionally he picked up tidbits of conversations between shards and razor..those two were so weird and quiet all the time.."Kruu..How far!" I whined slightly, not that I was one to complain but I was starting to get tired, I couldnt understand why wed left the sunny soft meadows to come all the way out to this place.
"Not to much farther" Rahl huffed, glancing back to catch razor and shards gaze, misfits that they were they were good creatures always on alert, heh they made wonderful sentry's really. I was thinking of making this place our new home, our permanent home. It may be desolate looking now but I knew over time it would change, green things always sprouted up out of the ashes if you just gave it time. Yes I was determined to claim this place, mark it as my own, and from it I would raise a great herd heh the likes of which had never been seen..I have high ambitions I know but it goes along with my ego, and the fact that I feel I'm a king.
I grinned slightly to myself, keeping careful footing as I led them down a path that would take them safest to the waters edge..
"Shards..Razor.." catching the silent pairs attention as the younger ones rushed by me to drink "You'll keep an eye on them while I'm away..especially kibri" yearling or not I didnt expect that girl to stay out of trouble, rahl was still to young to get into much mischief..
"Of course" the pair said in unison, giving rahl a light nod as they flanked the younger pair following them and watching them closely at the great rivers edge..
I smiled satisfied with that, taking back up the path..I had a bit of exploring to do before we made our new home..

A small chuckle made its was through the canyon, I grinned watching this lone pack march into the canyons. They're not yours yet brute. Pistons carried my bodiance through the ash, my darkened pelt blended well, but my white streaks stood out. I leaned back on my haunches to stop myself from catapulting over the plateau's edge above the beast and his crew. I Stood up on my hindquarters, my frame towering over the edge, I let out a piercing scream to those below. Notice me. Look up. I have a bone to pick with you.
My forepaws gripped the edge as I hung above them, perfectly balanced I might add. My lines were untainted, pure in every way. Thus making me capable of such stupid things.

(-shuffles- Not all of them..kibri is only staying till she grows up..ah if thats allowed? -shrugs- Besides Im lonely!!))
Rahl snarled head snapping up to the high canyon walls, bearing my fangs at the call of a challenge..her claim how dare she put a claim to anything! The scream shouldnt have enraged me so, but I knew a dominant female when I heard one.
Glancing around had it not been for the sound I would have missed her, her bright white fur standing out like marking stripes had it not been for that she would have blended in completely against the rock. "This is mine!" I bellowed back taking a charge up the path, stopping with a slight skid as I looked for a way to get up..or to bring her down.
"Come here little female, let me see you closer so I can shred you!" I laughed cruelly with that, I wasnt feeling in my usually playful mood at the moment. Dragging my claws over the earth, tail held high with my head as I glared upwards at the perched demoness.

I merely chuckled at the sight of the stud below me thinking Im claiming his lands. Im purely the overlord of everything in this place. I placed my head between my forepaws and looked down upon the herd even more. Snort ripped though my nares as I peered down the hill, my gaze meeting Rahl's. I remember you, you have a stubborn side upon you. One that I don't care for as much and anything else.
"Im not claiming this land brute, Im just seeing if your worthy for these lands." I spat.
"Why do these lands intrest you so much? What makes you think your the best leader? For you to step any farther into the canyon without giving me an answer is complete banishment from here." I smiled.
Im being nice for once, It is part of the job.

I sneered fur ruffling along my coat, raising in irritation. My tail swishing swiftly as I dropepd my anger to a managable level. The demon..so she thought she owned this place..all these places. Which made him what? Merely a trespasser on her property! Hah, he wouldnt stand for it.
"Then I'm worthy, you dont need to come around and check like some mothering beast" rahl huffed softly gaze softening ever so slightly as he shifted his head pawing at the ground for a moment in thought.
"They interest me so much, because there barren. I seek to bring life to them, feh besides what better place of defense then in a canyon! There's water here, tough greens. Its not perfect but its suitable if you wish to raise a strong brood" he grinned proudly holding his head high as he paced closer to the canyon wall. "I suppose I cant be to mad at you, simply for doing what you as a queen feel necessary" yes a queen, he would lable her one even if she wasnt. Besides he didnt wish to be banished not when hed just gotten started that would be horrible.
