Demigods---and the occasional demi-Titan---exist, and most are hiding in the Appalachian mountains. They fight the Hordes---when a monster 'dies', it releases some magic, which spawns a new one, and that gathers magic and spawns more over mere hours. After a monster spawn is killed, they release Souldust, which has an odd effect on demigods, strengthening them.
Of course, it is inevitable they must move... and meet many more surprises along the way.
And, of course, they must let humans join their group or let them die... whichever they prefer.
