Procedure:
First, take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Hotdog style.
Draw half of a tie starting from the folded edge.(like in the picture) and cut it out.
Another option is to trace a tie you already have!

Next, lay down some duct tape.

About 4 strips is good. I usually make my duct tape overlap every 1/4th of the width. Continue until you have 4 strips, then flip it so the sticky side is up, and cover it up to make a piece of duct tape fabric.

Lay your template onto your duct tape fabric and tape it on with clear tape.

Cut around the template, and add peel off the rest of the clear tape.

You can finish your tie design now by adding a border, or you can add or a design.
To add a border, lay down a strip of duct tape and cut that in half length wise. Then put it at the edge of the front of your tie, and fold it back.

Now you need to make the little triangle that shows up at the top of a tie when it's tied. I don't know how to tie a tie, so I'll just make that triangle a design!
Lay down tape at the top corner of your tie, and fold it back however big you want the triangle to be. Experiment with this to see how you want the triangle to look.
Next comes the strap that goes around your neck. Take a piece of duct tape and fold it hot dog style. Take another piece and fold that onto your first piece. continue until it's long enough to fit around a collar of your shirt (or neck)

Add a piece of velcro to it, and you're done!
