The Road --- Make your first apperance!

Alaska watched the dog, wide-eyed.
"She's pretty." she said, looking at the two enviously. "I always wanted a dog. If I had the time, that's one of the things I would treat myself to. Now that I'm out of the city, maybe I will." she said, thinking out loud.

Robert gave a nod to Alaska. "It's always good to have a canine companion. Just make sure you get one that fits your life, not just because they're cute. Lilly here is always energetic, and since I use her to cart things around with that sled there and have her work with me, keeping her calm is easy. But if she were put into a home where there is no room to run around or owners who never excercise her, she'd go insane. You'll want to look at each breed, thier energy levels, how high or low maintanence they are. It's almost as complicated as looking for a marriage partner. But like that, once you find the right dog, the rewards exceed the time and care invested." Robert spoke before patting Lilly on the side. He then gave a chuckle. "Sorry, I tend to get long winded when talking about animals."

Alaska shook her head.
"It's okay. I think it's cool when people care about something that much." she said, smiling crookedly. "'Specially about animals. I've always liked them, but I've never actually had time to have any other pets than hamsters." she admitted with a shrug.

Robert gave a nod. "Well a few low maintenence dogs would be greyhounds, boston terriers, boxers, pugs and Shiba Unu. But regardless, they all still require attention and daily excercise, along with food, water and occassional health check-ups, usually once every two seasons." Robert explained. "Besides, I know alot about animals. In being a Rune Knight, a person must be at one with the land around them, with the plants and animals that inhabit the land. And now that the wars are over, I can turn to a life of relative peace as a farmer." he replied to her

"A boxer... they're definately sturdy dogs... and that would help with work and such." she muttered. She shook her head. "A Rune Knight? Well, if swordplay's still your fancy, then you'd benefit from visiting the Blacksmith. My swords probably aren't as attractive as yours, but they're very sturdy and multi-functional to boot!" she said with a wink.

Robert chuckled a bit. "Blacksmiths are a mainstay, no matter where one travels. But the only time I plan on drawing my blade outside of regular practice is if there's an threat to the town or a threat to my farm. But in any case, I already spent a good amount just to get the farm. It'll be a little while before I can afford much. As with any business, the first season of a new business is generally the slowest profit-wise. Once I have a general idea of my average weekly profits, I'll be able to figure on what things I need, what I can afford and what surplus I'll have to splurge on." Robert replied.

Alaska nodded.
"Especially for me, since I'm thriving off of you." she pointed out. "So hurry up and get your farm going so that you can help me make a living!"

Robert chuckled to her. "And since most everyone will be relying on me for thier meals once the farm is in full swing." He teased "However you still never told me your name." He replied with a coy smirk

"You never told me yours, either!" Alaska defended with a fake scowl. Her grin broke through. "I'm Alaska Young. Or Your Highness. Whichever works."

Robert blinked a bit. "Um, yes I did, right after I handed you the flask. but I'll humor you. My name's Robert." he teased. "It's a pleasure to meet you Alaska. And now I need to head to the farm and get things started." He spoke before giving a light bow of his head. He then turned and looked to the mayor. "One question before I go to the farm. Will there be anyone to pick up the harvest goods from the bin? And if so, when are the pickup days and times?" Robert asked

Alaska blushed at her pure lack of memory.
"Sorry." she said, looking at her feet. "I'm not the brightest crayon in the box." she explained, picking up her bag and heaving it over her shoulder. "See ya 'round."

Gabriel jumped, suprised. A new citizen had just passed by and he hadn't introduced himself! How rude! He had spaced out for just a moment and it seemed like ages flew by. He jumped up and down looking for her, "I'm Gabriel, by the way! The Mayor!" He said, his small voice reaching not as far as he would have hoped.

Alaska had forgotten in her embarassment. Which didn't help much. Turning she walked quickly up to the mayor and shook his hand quickly.
"I'm Alaska Young, tool shop owner and engineer extrordinaire. A pleasure, Mr. Mayor." she said with a quick grin.
