It is better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all right? But the also say love hurts. So my question once again, is ignorance really bliss?

Truth is don't know because all my love is unconditional love. So even if I have a few exs we are still friends and all. I don't know it is like to fail out of love so I can't tell you want it is like without it. You would think I would be on the ignorance is bliss side but I'm not. Because those you have lost can truly see and joy what true love is like. Namely unconditional love.

Then I guess you may be counted among the lucky. There are those who have "the emotional depth of a teaspoon". Not all get to experience unconditional love.

I would say that, yes, it's painful when the one you love leaves in one way or another [either because they actually leave you, or because they die], but I would still say it's worth it for the time it lasts. smile
At the same time, the loss of love can make a person terribly bitter, and cause them to have a vengence against the world, so really, I think there isn't really a blanket answer for this question.

I think it depends on how much you value emotion. Losing Zin-chan was the worst thing to ever happen to me, and if I had never met him, I wouldn't be the mess I am today. But I also wouldn't have had the experience of knowing him, and he contributed to some of the best experiences of my life. So while it might have been easier if I'd never loved him, I think it was kind of worth it to be in love, even if we weren't able to grow old together.

Ignorance gives you as much bliss as you let it. If you are hungry for knowledge, or you are suspicious of circumstance, it will give you very little happiness. But if you only take things at face value and are happy with your knowledge, it will give you lots of happiness. Ignorance is only bliss if you don't know you're ignorant.

Love's always worth it, it's called living. You just have to not kid yourself that it will last forever.

in my opinion ignorance is bliss to those who no nothing otherwise, and because I'm always heartless I do not love so I wouldn't know if it is better not to love.

I say yes in terms of life, no in terms of love. You cant be ignorant about love and still have it (in terms of love). In terms of life... Compare a 20 year old paying bills and worrying about cash, food, living, class, friends... with a 20 year old, may i say, learning disorder. He's happy with a juicy fruit and a scooby doo lunch box. Take of it what you will.

innocence is not blissful when you're going through it, but once it's behind you it's so idyllic that you yearn for it... once you have cold, hard reality to compare it to.

Ignorance is SAFE. Safety can occasionally be bliss. But safety can also occasionally be BORING AS HELL. I prefer to take risks - occasionally, the same risk. I've gotten hurt multiple times attempting to make the jump up to the Fire Escape ladder at my school - but eventually I made it, and I was thrilled when I climbed up to the roof and scared the jebas out of anyone who walked below me.

dudete98 in my opinion ignorance is bliss to those who no nothing otherwise, and because I'm always heartless I do not love so I wouldn't know if it is better not to love. I agree that on some terms I didn't care either way about love until I met my bf and even now I do nothing but hurt when he's not around. Though when I talk to him I get really happy or even more so when we can see each other smile All in all i say it just depends on the person. You can love any one or any thing. Though to those who are oblivious to it there kinda missing out. Some people don't want love cause they feel to scared of getting hurt or they're just not into it 3nodding
