No, NOT a Zelda thread, otherwise it wouldn't be in the Smash topic. Just an attention grabber.

Fenny/Kyoda proposes another Brawl tourney, if for no reason than to try and get this place going again, even IF it's just for a little while.

... Also because she (FINALLY) got a new controller whee

I feel like my Ike's better (actually that's a lie - he's probably worse due to extreme neglect and lack of Brawling) and my Marth is DEFINITELY better xDDD

So, anyone interested?

...

Anyone still here? sweatdrop

This is a post. Dedede and GaW ready and prepared.

Also, anyone who wants to get really good at brawl, I'm giving free lessons. You have to give hard work and dedication though.

If we can reorganize and reget everyone to do it again I'm for it. I propose a round robin this time. I'll have to look into trying to get attention for a 2nd tourney sometime this week.

Round robin is where everyone fights everyone basically, and the one with the most wins... wins.

Also, I think that a double elimination would be better imo. They're funner really, and I totally will rock this time. Instead of no match losses in the winners bracket, I'm going for no stock losses. >.>

As for rules... can we have a more competitive ruleset? I'm quite swell at organizing tournaments, online ones at least: I'd greatly like to organize or co-organize this. Maybe get some advanced slobs in there, eh?? EH!? Advanced Slobs >>> double blinds.

Also, if someone wants me to make a legal stage list, just ask. <3

Round Robin sounds like you get to play a greater variety of people, though. I mean, in the last tourney I didn't get to fight half of the actual participants and I wanted to fight Ginji and Shuri D:

Eh, but both sound like cool beans to me so it's all good xD

Also feel free to help organize this, because you probably (no, definitely) have a TON more experience in tourneys than I do. xD Go free, Mercain! Go free!

Legal stagelist would look something like this, I'd imagine:

Battlefield
Final Destination
Delfino Plaza (I know, I know, it moves around but the stage is just so... PRETTY. ;-; I love this stage to death.)
Yoshi's Island
Lylat Cruise
Bridge of Eldin
Smashville
Pokemon Stadium II
Halberd
Shadow Moses Island
Pictochat
Corneria
(Pirate Ship?)

Anything I forget/added too much?

I'm game.
Edit: If there's gonna be a legal/illegal item, stage, or character list, I'm out.
Game to be played the way it was made.

For the stage list, I'd take off Bridge of Eldin (constant walk off) and Pokemon Stadium 2 (tooooons of problems, like lowered gravity, ice (not a big problem really), conveyor belts), and Shadow Moses Island (either walls or walk offs, meaning Dedede has an extreme advantage here over anyone), and add on Luigi's Mansion, norfair, frigate orpheon, distant planet, jungle japes, rainbow cruise, brinstar, and pokemon stadium.

Tossups I'd say are Castle Seige, Pirate Ship, Green-Greens, and Hanenbow; i'm not going to deliver judgement on that.

@Shoy- There's a thing called "dumb stages" which is if two players agree, they can use a banned stage. You can try to dumb all the banned stages, and the other player can say, "No, I don't want this stage, I don't want that stage, but these ones are okay." We really need enough as is, but since I'm a disgruntled melee competitor, I'll probably end up picking Eldin or Shadow Moses Island or some other very unfair stage and be some broken cahracter on the stage to prove my point of why it should be banned. My list above is very leniet, having Jungle Japes, norfair, and I'd give the thumbs up easily to Pirate ship in my lenient mood.

How about instead of banned/nobanned, everyone can choose a stage or more (maybe 5 max).

Say

Roy Salamandra: I block Skyland, Hanenbow and 50mm.

So when someone goes against me, those stages are not allowed. If one of those stages are picked, a redo of the match is required.

But with this, at least those who both say are ok with Skyland can play on it while others who don't do not have to.

As much as I hate the banning items and such, I'll have to say give the "no items" rule a chance. I've noticed how drastic a single item can affect a match sometimes and I hate to death the dragoon.

I'm no good at the whole tourney scene and am more out to hope everyone has fun and such. -shrug-

The problem with that is that there are TOO many exploitable stages. For instance, using the maximum of 5, lets say I use this to ban Green Hill Zone, Mario Bros, Rumble Falls, 75m, and Wario ware, there are still many other exploitable stages such as Spear Pillar, Mushroomy Kingdom, Port Town Aero Drive, Temple, New pork City, and Big Blue, as well as many others, basically any permanently walk off or Shadow Moses. :/

That's the flaw I have with it. If tehre were much less exploitable stages, I'd be perfectly fine with it.

Roy, Kyoda, Shoy, if we are going to do another one of these, we have to really be active and on the ball. I was hoping for some reply back (just got access back from a forced hiatus), but there was still nothing. I can run a competitive tournament easily, but it seems that isn't really what is wanted. So, I'm going to be doing some comprimising, and I'll be needing your guys help with that.

Sound good, guys?

I'll try but I can't guarantee that I'll be enthusiastic about it. I've had a hard time focusing on anything these days and been trying to figure out what are my future plans. Having ADD and being distracted easily are horrible traits to have.

I've got the traits too, so no johns. Yay for smash jokes.

On a serious note, I'm going to get you to round up people. You're basically the epicenter of the people around here, knowing all of them and whatnot. Just spread word and point them here. I'll do everything else, or try... with their cooperation.
