Um...we do sometimes. But it is hard to take the intiative when the guys we ask out are running away from us because we asked them out or hinted that we liked them...a little more than friends. We have lowered self confidence that doesn't always come from being teased and such. Sometimes it comes from guys who don't know how to handle when we actually take the initiative and make a move. After getting repeatedly rejected, you tend to take a break and let the guy do something for a while. One can only take so much and you can only ruin so many friendships with great guys by every once in a while asking one out.

I for one have never gotten drunken jerks or horny old men, I attract creepy mexicans (ok, when I say mexicans I mean the ones that just came over the border from Mexico who probably aren't legal. It's never been ones who can speak english) and black guys... which is alright, some of them were cute. And then white guys who I like back but who I met after I had a boyfriend, so they won't make moves.
...Scratch that, I got one horny old man, but he was my friend's ex-fiancee and a few white guys who will come out and ask me weird questions.
Anyhoo, rambling...
You seem to do the same thing I do. I think it's an awesome tatic 'cause I found an awesome guy (in all fairness, I did pursue him a bit more once I started liking him...but that's 'cause I thought he hated my guts and I wanted him to at least not hate me, so I'd never leave him alone, haha) and I've managed to date two guys at once, not going and throwing myself out there onto guys (long story, yes they knew about one another and were fine with it from the get-go).
If every girl was the way Fuzzy suggest, there would be a ******** of cat fights over "Oh no you did-un! That is MY man! Did you see that b***h LOOKING at my man?!" It's really up to personal preference, if you want to persue or be persued, someday you'll find somebody whose personality meshes well with yours.
