Isis was sleeping in her hammock which, believe it or not, was simply a silk hankerchief tied into a hammock shape. She rolled out, landing feet-first on the floor and proceeded to groom herself for a bit, getting all of those random hairs to lay down flat and beautiful. Satisfied, she looked about her. There was absolutely nothing to do. Well, that was bloody boring.
She jumped from shelf to shelf of the bookcase, using books that were stuck out just a little too far (on purpose, of course) to manage this feat. On the ground, she shook herself out again and started looking for something to do.

Red was napping in his favorite corner, when a movement across the room caught his eye. He turned his head slightly and saw a female cat he hadn't seen before.
*She's a pretty thing* he thought to himself, and decided to watch her for awhile.

Isis sighed, scratching her claws in the carpet at the base of the bookcase. A dust bunny in the corner caught her attention. She glanced around; she didn't see anyone. Well, if no one was there to see, what harm was there in being a bit childish?
One . . . two . . . three . . . POUNCE! She missed! The rush of air from her pounce instead pushed the dust bunny further away from her. Narrowing her eyes, she tried creeping up on it instead, still entirely oblivious of anyone around her.

Red couldn't help but smile as he watched the lovely female attempt to capture a dust bunny. He had spent many a day doing the same thing. Of course, he considered himself too old for such childish indulgences unless he was playing with his siblings who were still kittens. In that case it was excusable. He chuckled quietly to himself as the female readied for another pounce.

Isis crept stealthily, hardly daring to breathe. She crept . . . she was within an inch now . . . she extended her paw . . . and got it. She stood up with a sigh. Now what was she going to do? She looked around the empty room, but suddenly had a feeling of being watched. Who's there? she called out, unafraid, and actually feeling a bit up to a challenge. After all, whomever it was had watched her play! That was simply unsatisfactory!

Red poked his head out of the shadows. Don't mind me, I'm no one important he said with a grin. The female looked a bit angry and her claws looked fierce, as did her eyes. Nope, definitely did not want to get on her bad side. You look like you're having fun.

Isis sat and licked her paw in a rather high-and-mighty manner. Finally, she looked up at the male. Well, he wasn't bad looking; she'd give him that. And, just maybe, he was entertaining as well! One could hope. Oh, but how to proceed . . . Does this 'no one important' have a name? she asked, standing up and stretching.

My name is Red XIII, but everyone just calls me Red. The XIII is just a formality. He stepped out of the shadows with a smile, revealing his color and markings. He was beginning to like this female.

Now that she could see him properly, Isis' eyes swept over him, pausing on the tattoo on his shoulder. A bit proud of our name too, eh? she said, purring now. He could be fun. He wasn't intimidated; that much was good. Not that she was really going for the intimidation card, but still.
She circled him, as if examining him, stopping at his head. She nodded. You'll do she said simply, a devious smile on her face.
