The Evils of Jealousy
In a time of war and bloodshed, the Great Goddess of Destruction Katrinonus found love in the arms of a dog demon general named Michael. Together they procreated two children, one male and one female, whom they called Gabriel and Nyxiane. After the birth of Nyxiane, Michael discovered the true origins of his lover’s power and banished her out of fear of this power. Infuriated and heartbroken, the glorious goddess swore revenge for this unforgivable betrayal. In this fit of rage, Katrinonus would create what would come to be known as the sexiest and most sinister man alive. Her creation was dubbed Edward and was created for the sole purpose of making Michael live in eternal despair for this life and the next.
Edward stayed with Katrinonus for sixteen cycles of the human seasons, learning every method of murder and torture imaginable and on the final day of the sixteenth cycle Edward was deemed ready to avenge his scorned creator. After being forced down to Earth from Heaven, Edward crept onto the lands of the traitor in the form of a mystical black mamba. The traitor, Michael, had been teaching his daughter the truest way of a soldier. Pride shone brightly in the eyes of the father as his daughter excelled in the way of the sword. Lying in wait for the perfect moment, Edward chose to strike as soon as Nyxiane turned her back, biting into the ankle of the general and injecting his deadly poison into the dog’s system. For the entirety of four seasons, Michael suffered endless nightmares of the love that he had foolishly abandoned. Death refused to show him mercy as it was so known to do. His only caretaker and company was his loving daughter who remained forever loyal at his side until his soul was set free from the agony.
Distraught nearly to the point of insanity, Nyxiane locked herself within her chambers with the refusal of company, food or anything to improve her rapidly declining health. After a season of her self-induced punishment, Edward came to the palace in the guise of a monk. He slowly managed to convince Nyxiane to make him her only companion, to listen only to his words and using her poor health to his advantage in wooing her. In time his efforts were rewarded with success when Nyxiane confessed her love for him on the eve of her eighteenth winter. With this he felt he must make her privy to his evil deed to ascertain her loyalty to him. At this she merely smiled and intoned a heartfelt I forgive you.
The war with the humans ended and with the end brought her loving brother Gabriel home again with no knowledge of his father’s death of his sister’s loving relationship with the evil Edward. All Gabriel could think of was his beautiful sister Nyxiane and all that he wished to tell her. Once he returned home he and his sister would run away to be blissfully married and have many children. But alas twas not meant to be as he saw his sister in the warm embrace of Edward under the leaves of the weeping willow tree he had sworn he would propose under. Pure rage filled his heart and clouded his mind just as it had done his mother.
Nyxiane felt happier than she had in her life with her brother and Edward by her side as she confessed to her loving Gabriel that she had found true love in the heart of the sinister Edward. With his mind clouded and heart blackened by the miasma of jealousy, he decided he would blame Edward for their father’s murder, unknowing of the truth behind his lie. Nyxiane smiled, I know, she said, But he’s a much better person now. He says my love has changed him. Disgust and disbelief was all Gabriel felt as he growled out Like hell and took off towards Edward who held an envelope in his hand. Gabriel’s sword ran Edward through the heart, and Nyxiane’s bond with Edward had been so strong that her health and sanity deteriorated with her love’s life. Her body fell to lay beside his and all Gabriel could do was weep and read the letter Edward had dropped. Its’ contents was the renouncement of Edward’s evil ways.
The End
