Grapheme > color: When you read a certain word, or see a certain number or letter, do you see it tinged with a color? Do you favor a certain word because it looks like a rainbow when spelled out? Do certain words or numbers have a certain color association? Then you have Grapheme Synesthesia.
Sound > color: Are certain songs "green", yet others are very "red"? Do different instruments bring up different colors? Do you remember your scales because they each have a different color pattern? If so, then you have Narrow-Band Sound Synesthesia.
Do you experience the symptoms above, but find that atmospheric noises, such as barking dogs or a loud truck cause your mind to light up as well? Then you have Broad-Band Sound Synesthesia.
Number Form When you think of a certain number, does a little web appear with associated numbers? Do you see connect-the-dot esque scenes in your head while doing math? Then you have Number Form Synesthesia.
Personification Do you find that you can trust the letter O, but Y is a shady character and must be avoided? Do certain words seem more cute, while other words seem malicious? Then you have Personification Synesthesia.
Lexical > Gustatory When you hear a certain word, does an overbearing taste involuntarily appear in your mouth? Do you like certain sentences because they're 'sweet'? Then you have this rare form of Synesthesia called Lexical to Gustatory.
If anyone has first-hand experiences in any of these, and want to correct or "update" my information, feel free to post 3nodding

I've got personification synesthesia. Numbers have personalities for me!
For example, 5 is a female number. She's a bit of a rebel and she stands up for what she believes in. I see her protesting against the cruelty enforced by number 9, who rules over the numbers. 5 and 9 hate each other. 7 is a male number. He's a kind of failed evil villain.
I think I might have a hint of grapheme synesthesia too - I feel that 7 is dark green and 10 is a whitish silver.
I've heard that it's quite common for people with synesthesia to experience a few different symptoms.
