Metaplot: Something More Than Us, Part One
Sparkling blue eyes dazzled out from the tree Li'tae had chosen to perch in while he waited for the blip of a new Hacker that he felt to come ever closer. Perhaps this one would reveal something he didn't already know - or at least would be able to confirm his own suspicions. That they weren't alone - and something bizarre was coming their way. Now he only had to decide just how to explain everything without seeming entirely insane.
Allowing his long, lanky limbs to stretch out from the tree branch, a yawn pulled his mouth wide open as he leaned back against the surprisingly rough bark of the tall tree he rested on. It always amazed him how keen on the details Sionce was when he created new programs for the Hackers to play in, and this one was no less detailed than the snowy field Trisste had shown him. A fond smile touched his lips at the memory of that field, and it was with a newly determined look that he continued to gaze out in the direction the Hacker that was headed his way.

It was beautiful and Aya was happy to be in a place that seem a sanctuary for all the trouble she was going through. With computer glitches and angry computer owners, she felt troubled by it all. Mitsuru was not helping and she was trying to make him understand, but he seemed bent on not paying attention. She wondered when it would be time to introduce her friend to him. Her eyes looked down to Niabi, the little hacker who fidgeted as he trotted next to her, his eyes flashing about as he tried to keep his attention on everything and anything.
Cooed the Elder, walking with him through the tall and swaying grass.
(I’m just dong them together and giving them to Niabi. I mean, I can only use them to raise up points to make them grow and Niabi needs them.)

The elder hacker recognized the appearance of two new beings in his area, and for a moment, his spirit perked up at the thought it might be the culprits until he saw that it was, in fact, actually just the hackers he was attempting to locate and discuss the glitches with. A small sigh escaped from his lips in the form of a bubble emote as he hopped down from the high branch he'd been perched on and slowly began to meander towards the duo. Feeling another glitch touch him as he seemed to fade in and out for a brief couple of seconds, a frown touched the Elder's face for just a moment until he approached within a decent hailing distance of the others.
Raising one hand in welcome, he gave as friendly a smile as he could muster whilst being utterly annoyed at the situation at hand - and the fact he seemed plagued by random glitches these days - before finally introducing himself.
Perhaps not the most eloquent of introductions, or the most polite way of doing things, but he'd like to dig for as much information as he might - as quickly as he might, so that the problem that had presented itself could be solved. Without the assistance of Sionce.

Aya was walking slowly, the small fawn-spotted Niabi beside her. The elder was not at her best. Mitsuru had not only received no help from the few people that she felt understood her, but he seemed to have entrusted his computer to someone else that was not helping with the glitches that had been detected before. It actually felt like the glitches were worse, and she found parts of her speech missing and occasionally a color change. It made her feel nauseous and ill. With all that was going on, she didn’t think it was time to show Mitsuru Niabi just yet.
Her eyes looked down at the small hacker, who was quite and rarely spoke. He didn’t seem to show many glitches himself, aside from his spots changing number once in a while.
As she was hailed, she looked up and Niabi moved closer to her. Approaching, she also waved. Though the wave was nice, the introduction was curt.
Niabi glanced up at her as her words twisted, and a teardrop emoticon moved near her. It was embarrassing to be malfunctioning, but traveling to new computers never helped. She thought she finally had a place to rest, but it seemed the owner of the computer did not want her there.

Li'tae couldn't help but give a soft smile as the older hacker gave a return wave in his direction. At least his introduction hadn't been completely blown off, then - he was certainly improving! Momentarily he contemplated putting his hand out for her to shake as he often saw humans do back at the shop, but quickly decided that would be a waste of time. He had no idea if she knew about the human customs and he was in a small bit of a hurry. Or, he was trying to be in a hurry.
When the female hacker's words glitched out mid-introduction, Li'tae's head quickly tilted to one side much as Adalia's often did when he told her the gossip of the day. Now that was certainly interesting! He'd only had the random disappearing acts on his own, so if she were having speech problems...then the glitches had reached farther than he thought. A small frown touched his face as he tried to figure out how best to inquire into the lady's problems...without making them think he wanted them to turn tail and leave.
Noticing the smaller hacker, he tried a reassuring smile though he felt quite certain the concern in his eyes really only made it a twisted sort of thing that was half torn between a genuine smile and a grimace. With a small wave, he finally said, "You can play anywhere you want here...Niabi. Its safe here." Well, at least he thought it was. He felt bad for having that momentary lapse in what the child's name was, but he quickly shrugged that off and turned his sole attention onto the older of the two.
"So how long have you been experiencing that...speech glitch, Aya?"
Li'tae winced slightly at that - when he was impatient he definitely wasn't the lady's man he normally was and he felt bad for being so curt to the hacker. It wasn't her fault they were all feeling so poorly, after all.

Lucky for Li'tae, Aya was not familiar enough with human customs to know the customs and pleasantries with speech. Mitsuru was the only other human she spoke to, aside from the human Sionce, and even the boy teen did not speak to her kindly or long enough to get much in the way of communication training. Because of this, the straightforwardness of the other hacker was seen as normal, and she responded in turn.
. Again pausing for the fact another word escaped her.
Her eyes looked down to Niabi, who was curling around her legs.
Raising her eyes, she brought one leg against another one and set her hip on one side in a fashion she saw in the pictures Mitsuru kept (and Aya ate). < Do you have any Inf□rmation on what’s going on?>

The hint of a wince moved swiftly across Li'tae's face as he noticed that Aya's number for weeks was switched out by the glitch. That wasn't very helpful. If he didn't know how long...he wouldn't be able to have a time frame with which to look at except for when he had first started having glitches maybe three weeks ago. He hadn't had any odd color changes, so that interested him greatly, and this piqued interest showed when he intently leaned forward and peered at the female hacker and her younger counterpart. Slowly, he shook his head when she mentioned it possibly being attributed to a human. If there was one thing he knew about this mess, it was that it didn't directly involve humans...
As Aya moved her eyes to look at the other hacker, Li'tae's eyes transferred to him as well almost as if he were looking to see if the spots would start changing right before his eyes. Almost a little disappointed, he realized Niabi seemed to be perfectly normal for the time being, if a bit scared, and so he knelt down to be more at the youth's height. It was a move he'd seen Fiach use with Adalia at least once, so he assumed it was the right thing to do.
With a small smile for the child hacker, he reassured him quietly, Perhaps not the best way to reassure someone they'd be all right, but that wasn't something Li'tae was familiar with in the least. Sure that he'd helped Niabi, he sat back on his heels and tilted his head to look up at the Elder,
There was a short pause as he moved a hand up to tap at his chin in a fashion he'd seen Fiach frequently do before he continued, The Elder's eyes fogged over a little as if he were seeing something past Aya or Niabi that wasn't really there, a vague sensation tugging at him briefly before quickly flitting away once more.
It wasn't an answer...but it would at least let him know if he was - or wasn't - crazy.

Making her intro with a cold attitude, Thyra's trail was to be seen by the data that seemed to lag in the air. Uninterested, she looked at the detailed tree that stood in front of her, as well as the Elder Hacker and Aya. She particularly looked at the □ symbol that floated through Aya's text once a while, which made her smile. She had just found something that was far more interesting than a detailed tree that looked far more real than some pictures she had seen.
However, before she could make any remarks about the □, Enya arrived. < Oooh, that's a beautiful tree. It looks a lot like those pictures, but then far more realistic. Who made this? >

Niabi clutched more tightly to Aya’s leg, shrinking as he looked with wide eyes at the other hacker, not sure exactly if he should say anything. Since it wasn’t a question but a reassurance, he only nodded that he understood. The little hacker had yet to trust strange new things, and had been following Aya for the longest time to the point that she had more or less adopted it. She had yet to introduce the young thing to Mitsuru.
<I have felt energy around me. It feels like □□□□□□□□□ and static. I do not know where it is most concentrated. I have been distracted too.> This was both because of Niabi taking her time and Mitsuru messing with his computer. The boy was making a right mess of things.
<What else have you noticed? Any news? >
It was then that another hacker approached, seeming more carefree to notice a tree than anything else. <I do not know who made the tree unless I eat it. You like □□□ so I won’t. Look for a tag if you can.>

The appearance of two additional Hackers surprised Li'tae more than a little, but the Elder did his best to ensure that it did not show on his face. With an almost friendly and pleasant smile he waved in their direction, slightly amused that they seemed to not really notice anything around them, not even the glitches that had been taking over Cyberspace. Or, at least, that is what their attitude seemed to show. They seemed somewhat curious, and with the few facts that were going around, Li'tae had come to the conclusion that they just might need to look for the source of the glitch. If any of them were interested in doing so, that is.
Slowly, the Elder turned his red eyes back to the one he had been talking to originally, having to carefully remind himself that he was talking to her initially and should pay suitable attention when she spoke. Besides, there was always the off chance that she could supply him with details that he hadn't seen or heard yet himself, and those tidbits of information could influence the decision he made - and the reality of Cyberspace. With a grim smile, the Hacker nodded, he had noticed that...strange feeling in the air as well. It was why he had started his search after all.
Here the Hacker paused, slightly uncomfortable about talking of the persistent feeling of being kept tabs on that had nothing to do with the human that owned the laptop he typically resided in. Nor did it have to do with the human that ran the store from which these Hackers were occasionally sold from. Of that, the Hacker was certain. Nodding ever so slightly, he continued on with his speech, else is around.>
Carefully the Hacker thought over if he had heard any news that had been causing the problems, and as the one Hacker that might have known these things was currently missing in action, he had heard little to nothing. Another short pause, as he had noticed that talking a little slower and with more spaces in between seemed to not only increase the drama quality of what he spoke of, but also seemed to help keep the glitches away from being too constant. Here the Elder sighed, if only the root of the problem was as simple as he had hoped where he could gather some Hackers together, they would have information and then he could hunt out the problem, fix it, and have done with it all by dinner. Or rather, when Adalia had dinner.
With a shake of his head that showed his commiseration and displeasure at the unpleasantness of it all, he looked to the newcomers, weird lately?> And if all else failed, Li'tae was resolved to go hunting and take these Hackers with him since 10 eyes were better than 2 anyway. Though he suspected the younger ones might cause some trouble, at least two of the four could be of some kind of assistance.

Her eyes went up and she looked at the sky and the canopy of the nearby tree as if she could spot a pair of eyes on her back. The very notion made her paranoid and destroyed a sense of security she held around her. To think anyone would bother to watch them was an idea she didn’t like entertaining. She was a insignificant Elder. While older than most, she spent her time eating images here and there, and had occupied her time with not taking too much from one place. It had only been recently that she stuck to one computer and one user, and she wondered if this was partly her fault.
< Why would anyone want □□ watch us? > This one Hacker seemed to have a feeling, an idea of what might be going on that he wasn’t letting on. It was some sort of vague sense or idea the other had, and she wanted to know. < Who or what could possibly want to □□□□□ us. To cause glitches? We did not do □□ything wrong? > Aside from taking what they needed. Mitsuru had called her destructive plenty of times before.
Looking about again, she spoke more slowly as if a whisper would keep any prying ears from listening. < A strange □□□□□□□□□ with a aura……what could it be then? >
Her hand went down to stroke Niabi, who started to shiver. Aya guessed it was the tone in which they were talking and the stress of everyone new here. < What should we do? >

Just as Enya was about to take a bite from the tree to taste if it was as good as it looked, the Elder and other Hackers speculated about an "aura" of sorts. Enya had no idea who they were talking about, but she knew that Thyra had some sort of effect as well. Everywhere the adult Hacker went, data seemed to move way slower than it initially did. Now, Enya wasn't sure about it, but she even thought that it "just happened", not that it was something the adult had under control.
< What are you looking at, small fry? >, Thyra glared at Enya, who unawarely had been staring to Thyra. Jumping up, Enya quickly hid into the tree and looked down. Thyra looked away uninterested, fixing back her gaze on the small cubes in the text.
< Thyra, too, makes things static... >, she said nodding to Li'Tae. Thyra merely shrugged. < Yes. It's fun to lag data, so what? >
