Umi Fu
~Blank~
Returning to the place from which he was re-born, the Blank child moved through the area of the mindless blanks much bolder than before. He held a little memory of what he was, he now had knowledge as to how he can better himself and become 'whole' again, and he had an ambition to bring those accursed soul reapers to their knee's. It seemed like this area was just flooded with their mistakes that they simply refused to help with; how can one make a mistake yet make little effort to even rectify what you have done? It simply astounded him about the Soul Reapers arrogance to his suffering race and he hoped to ensure that his people will soon be given the help that they needed. But first thing was first...
If what Shira had said was correct, he had to steal others memories to heighten his powers and return his own memories back; in addition to having the memories of those he stole. The 'young' blank still held the memories of those he stole from earlier during his time in the Shadow City, which told him that which Shira spoke of was indeed the truth... a very sad truth at that. Which in fact led him to come back to this place. Why? Because he remembered a large collective of Blanks surrounding a large totem in the middle of the chasm. Umi didn't give it much mind until now. Those Blanks that surrounded the totem were probably Blanks that had regained enough of themselves to start on the rough road towards re-building themselves back to being 'normal.' Umi still held fear of what could occur to him, especially since he wasn't as mindless as some of the Blanks that hovered about the area, but at the same time Umi knew he needed to venture through the danger if he wished to become whole once more.
Upon coming to the totem, Umi raised his red clawed hand and placed it upon the totem which instantly, he noticed, seem to hold the same power that the crystals in the cave held but... slightly different. Unlike in the cave, Umi was getting more memories that seemed to be geared more towards him instead of just plain memories. But for some reason, the 'voices' that spoke to him from the totem sounded far too soft for him to hear, no matter how much tighter his clawed hand dug into the pole. Pulling back from the totem, Umi wondered what he was doing wrong and why it wouldn't accept his wishes to dive into it's memories. Looking up to the other Blanks that were doing the same thing, they seemed to have no problem with accessing the knowledge of the totem.. as if... yes! Umi looked back to the totem and took deep breath, trying to psyche himself up before placing his talon hand back upon the totem; but this time, instead of just trying to force himself into it's memories with doubt and regret in his heart, he noticed that he needed to touch the totem with pride and acceptance in his heart. To accept this curse that was plagued on him, in which only then can he access the abilities that his people can wield.
When Umi finally started to be flooded with the knowledge of the totem, there was one voice that reached out to Umi as he 'closed his eyes' and focused on it. Pushing the other voices and memories of possible souls of his people that laid in the totem out, he focused directly on the voice that seemed to reach out to him the most. Soon, before him stood a Blank, but one that Shira had called, a 'Rosary', or ones that had evolutionalized from the state he is in now.
The Rosary before him was an elderly man that was cloaked in the white cloak that Umi had, but it seemed altered with the ascension that the old man had gained. It no longer clinged to the body like a second skin and seemed more like a true article of clothing. The elderly man had a large, what seemed like, burned 'X' across his face giving he who was aged in years a quite fierce look as he approached the child. While Umi was admiring the geezer for his accomplishments, Umi jumped back when the man appeared before him in a flash. It seemed that within the time it took for Umi to blink his eye, the man was before him if not faster! The elderly man bowed lightly to the child before speaking, in a voice that sounded as if they were in a room that would reverberate someone's voice tenfold,"Would you like to learn of my skills child? You seem young and able to possess the powers that I hold, if you have the will enough to learn it." He said before Umi collected himself. Trying not to be afraid anymore of what he's become and accept it, so that he may hear the voices of his people and receive their blessings of knowledge. "Hai! Show how to do that movement thing you did Oji-san!"
The man smirked to this eager new blood before him, "Do you know about your powers yet child? Or rather should I question, do you know how I am able to move at such speeds?" Umi thought for a moment about it before shrugging,"I'm guessing your just a really fast old man..." With that instant Umi was 'hit' with a cane as the youthful Blank wailed out in pain to the strike to his mask,"H-Hey Oji-san!" Umi yelped out in pain as the elderly Blank shook his head,"Indeed you seem to hold the talent yet your maturity has not yet reached it's peak I see... Nonetheless, if you were able to tap into the secrets of the totem then you are ready to learn how to perform techniques of our race." He waited until the child gathered himself as he began,"The reason we are able to perform techniques, with rather any race, is due to Reiryoku and Reiatsu. Reiryoku is the amount of energy a being has stored within our bodies or souls, whereas Reiatsu is the pressure that a people's Reiryoku exerts. The difference is much like energy and power. When a person has high Reiryoku, they can exert more powerful Reiatsu. Meaning that a technique can become much stronger if you hold more Reiryoku. Yours, is rather small due to you just beginning your journey and I'm sure you can't even sense mine at this point. But as your grow stronger, you shall soon be able to hold more Reiryoku and exert more powerful Reiatsu to then do more powerful and extravagant feats. Now..." The elderly man stepped back a couple of feet to Umi and pointed his staff before him,"Come to me though do not walk. Leap to me, utilizing the least amount of steps that you can do in the shortest amount of time possible." He said as his beady eyes watched the child carefully as Umi made the attempt. Awkwardly skipping towards the man as he was slightly uncomfortable with skipping about as when he finally came to the spot that the old man was pointing to, he was smacked once more by the cane. "Ouchie!!" He yelped once more as he made a swipe at the irritable man an that cane who utilized the very technique Umi wanted to learn to move away from the young Blank's slow strike."Try again, and this time with feeling. If you cannot take this basic practice seriously then you are not worthy of my time." The man said before Umi stopped the comical rubbing of his head and glared at the man for his words; as if that was somewhat of taking a stab at Umi's inability to do the technique or more so his pride. Focusing on the man, Umi leaped further, trying to get the man once more by jumping further but just as he got to the man again he saw that annoying cane swiping at him, which he ducked under it after seeing that strike too many times,"Bleeeeh! That's what you get you ba-" Unfortunately Umi seemed to have spoke just a little too soon as he felt a foot pushing firmly into his stomach and him being launched back into this white area he was getting trained in. Growling Umi spout off his mouth,"Oi! b*****d-ro! What the h*ll was that for?! Think your funny beating up defenseless kids?!" The Old man swung the cane hard onto the ground, as this time he somewhat snarled the instructions,"Come to me... At the least... Amount of steps possible, and at the least amount of time." Umi was about to skip once more before thinking about what the man said more thoroughly this time around. 'Least amount of steps and least amount of time? And maybe... if what he said about that... energy and what not... can it be possibly influenced into this as well? Or why else would he tell such things early on....' Umi pondered about it before putting one foot behind the front and lightly bending his knee's. Focusing on one solitary spot in-front of the old man, as if projecting himself there mentally before physically going forth.
Leaning forwards, keeping that mind set of being there before even actually physically being there, Umi shot off his back leg with all of his might. With five tiny steps, each pushing forth with a large amount of strength, Umi appeared before the man in a much faster speed than he did when he simply went to bouncing on his foot. The blank looked up to see if he indeed did the technique correct, only to see that cane raise again,"S-Still?!!" He said as he tried to dodge it before feeling a kindly hand be placed upon his mask." Very good child. Continue to hone your abilities of the 'Spectral Step.' Attempt to master it's abilities and continue to extend your speed. You will do great child... remember, keep your pride up of what you've become, or else the resent you feel will become like a poison and kill you." The man said as he began to fade back, and Umi was once more immersed into that bundle of voices until he removed his talon hand from the totem."Pride, huh?" He said softly to himself as he looked to the others of his race; both mindless and acting like parasites to feed their wants to become whole. The child clenched his fist and nodded as he thought about what the man said,"Yes... I shall be the the pride of my people..."
