Training Session 2
Session No: oo2 Instructor(s): Char-Langui and Svarsika-la-toa Type: Required Focus: Introductory Additional Sessons: Unlimited
The two temple Masters returned to the room, their steady gazes sweeping over their young audience. Sva'La smiled and gave a small nod in greeting. "Welcome back to your second lesson." She began, making eye contact with each student as she proceeded. "A path of Jedi or a Sith requires much practice, discipline, and repitition. Some lessons will be impossible to grasp in a single practice session. Others still will benefit from multiple practices."
Char Langui cleared his throat as he joined in. "Today we want you to work further on establishing your connection to the Force. In your private sessions we encouraged you to begin to set up the foundation of your relationship with the Force. To some, it might have been difficult to reach out and connect with such power but you should all have been able to at least sense its presence." He paused momentarily, allowing his words to sink in before continuing. "Over the course of the next several lessons you will be expected to discover a way to open yourself up to the Force. As we mentioned previously there are various channels and methods for you to experiment with."
"In the first lesson," Sva'La began, folding her hands together as she spoke. "We recommended first seeking personal tranquility in a private place. The solitude would then quiet your mind and allow you to open youselves up to the energy around you. During this lesson we are going to demonstrate another approach to the Force." Sva'La paused for a second and her eyes closed. With her next breath she gathered the Force around her and let it ripple among the students seated in front of her. Like an ocean, the Force crested over each student like a wave. The Jedi Master slowly opened her eyes and the energy that had filled the room slowly ebbed away. "Could you feel it then? It's power, it's security, it's energy?" She asked the students rhetorically. "The Force resides in every living thing: every individual, every animal, and every plant. Each individual thing has it's own unique presence in the Force that can be sensed and felt."
"For you second lesson," Char Langui continued "We are encouraging you to find a partner to work with. Work together to access the force, feel it build between you. Some students find this more successful than attempting to reach out on there own." Sva' La nodded in agreement as she added the final instructions."The Main Hall or the Courtyard are both suitable locations for two students to meet. The alignment of the pair does not matter at this point, a Jedi may work with a Sith if they so desire. If there is an odd number, some students may be expected to practice with multiple partners until everyone has had a chance to complete the second lesson." She paused before continuing. "If anyone has any questions, you may contact a corresponding master or knight present." The two temple masters bowed slightly as they turned to exit. "May the Force be with you all"

((OOC: Sorry for the delay; life got a little crazy there for awhile. XP))
Jhordaan had taken up residence in the courtyard, sprawled against the lip of the fountain--for once almost completely devoid of students, maybe due to the heavy clouds that had taken precedence in the sky--as he contemplated his datapad. He had thought to maybe to distract himself with correspondence, but his attention hadn't held long. His thoughts continued to drift back to his training session with Camlan, mulling over the progress they had made. And the progress there was still to be made.
Being naturally attuned to the emotions of those around him had required that he develop a substantial mental shield early on so as to not be overwhelmed. The weaknesses and limitations of those mental barriers were what troubled him now, and the compromise that had to made in order to effectively work in tandem with another Force user.
That nagging doubt had been what led him to the courtyard, though to what end he hadn't the slightest idea. He leaned back and closed his eyes; maybe a nap would illuminate things.

Charsiir entered the courtyard, his translating robot with him. He saw a boy against the fountain, 'I knew there was some reason I wanted to come here.'
After a small period of hiding, his courage took over and he decided to say something, the droid translated for him " Hello, my name is Charsiir. I am new to this academy, are you the same?". On hearing the translation he smiled, it worked as well as it did with the other kids.
Charsiir looked around, unsure uf he was going to make a new friend or not, he wanted new friends. He had so few here at the moment.
(( OOC: Same here, three of the B/C's I have pets from, have become active again.))

Hope and trepidation brushed against Jhordaan’s shields; mild irritation of a ruined nap made him slow to open his eyes, regarding the newcomer half-lidded for a long moment before he gained his feet. A Wookie, then. Interesting.
“Not so new, actually,” he gave an informal sort of half-bow, “Jhordaan Tri’kule at your service.”
Maybe this interruption could work to his benefit. If Charsiir was interested, if he’d completed the first lesson, and if he hadn’t progressed farther than that. Jhordaan rolled his shoulders to loosen a kink in his neck, not particularly pleased with his chances. Still, for a chance encounter, he wasn't loosing anything by trying.
“Are you finding the classes to your taste? I’m actually just about to start work on the second lesson.”

"I'm having trouble with them, I find it very difficult to understand." Charsiir said reluctantly, the droid translated this and Charsiir frowned.
He sensed that Jhordaan was judging him. He realised how he wasn't the best student and that telling a partner your not good at work isn't the best idea.
"What do we have to do?"

Jhordann allowed himself a brief moment of self-pity--what was it about him that he attracted insecure waifs; all he wanted was to run across someone marginally competent for once--before pushing it aside. He would make the best of the situation; he needed the practice, even if the company wasn’t overly stimulating.
“It’s a continuation of lesson one,” Jhordann settled down, cross-legged, and gestured for Charsiir to do the same. “The goal is to aid each other in accessing the Force, as I understand the lesson. It seems to be easiest while meditating.”
Eventually, Jhordann would need to be able to use the technique without the aid of meditation--a daunting possibility; it was hard enough to read auras without closing out the superfluous data streaming through his senses--but that was something he would worry about at a later date.
He was loathe to ask, but as it was relevant to the completion of the lesson, he inquired politely: "What are you having trouble understanding?”

Charsiir smiled, he had found a very nice boy indeed. "I don't really know what to do... Are we meditating again? I don't like meditating."
He then sat down, it was going to be another boring session of meditation. Why couldn't he go back to playing. "Do we cross our legs?". He decided to anyway.
After thinking to himself for a while he decided to ask what he really wanted to know. He started to frown, "Well, What do the things mean? The feelings. The... The... They say it's the force but it just feels weird." After the droid finished translating Charsiir stared at Jhordann.

Jhordaan felt suspiciously like he was developing a tick. He must be cursed, because there was no other explanation for his atrocious luck; what had he done in a past life to end up with such bad karma? He didn't deserve this.
He kept a neutral face, however, nodding absently as he tried to process the boy's not-answer. Everything, it seemed, would have been the correct response. Which didn't help Jhordaan, because even he only had the vaguest idea of what was going on. He felt the beginnings of a headache.
"Eventually you won't have to meditate, but for the moment it's your best bet--"what did it matter if he crossed his legs or not; talk about inane--"just get comfortable."
"I think what the Force feels like is different from person to person, but basically, it's energy, I guess? It's life. It's bound to feel a little--weird--I suppose." Jhordaan started to relax as he sunk into his own thoughts, "It doesn't mean anything, specifically, or if it does I don't know. It just is."
