From there!))

Kian had been taking care of Dee, surprisingly. The toddler was trying to dance as her idiot father had signed her up for class and she was in a simple white leotard. It didn't make her feel any prettier. A show was on the television, with gymnasts all across the screen; Dee was staring at it as if it was something that had sprouted an extra head and ordered a pizza. Kian, personally, couldn't see how she even participated in class.

Maybe it had to do with her father screwing her teacher. Or she could be talented. Take your pick.

The dark alien had been caring for her in the manner that, while he wasn't watching her per say, he was in the same room. Avrin, before he left for his job, had sparred with him and as a result, was wearing only a pair of jeans and a towel around his neck. His hair was piled up on the top of his head, although strands of it fell out when he turned to face Rusty.

.....huh. Strange person. Kian scrubbed at his neck with the towel for a scant moment as he stared at Rusty. Poor Rusty. Faced with an emotionless mask from a wide, muscular, shirtless alien and - as Dee turned as well - the insquisitive peek of a toddler who had previously shrieked at his son.

"Who are you?"

"I...Um...." Oh my. Poor Rusty looked quite surprised, and a little frightened. Though Kian's height wasn't too imposing, he was quite sturdy, and had a bigass tail.

"I'm Ruthty." He said softly, gnawing on his lower lip. "I... I wath given thith addreth by Iamel. I thought I'd check it out before Hoth growth bigger." There was a grumble from his baby-backpack thing.

"Iamel." The tone wasn't all that warm when that name was said; in fact, it got a bit more frigid at the mention. Kian turned fully to face the duo; his third eye slid towards his niece while the main pair remained cemented on the Rusty and the hidden-Hoss. Dee blinked at him and then back to Rusty. She raised her little four-fingered hand to wave at the duo.

Kian started for Rusty, the towel being wrapped around one of his hands. He reached out and, instead of being rough with the other man, merely placed a hand on his shoulder. Rusty was turned around, like a small child at the doctors, so Kian could come face to face with the little brute who had been sent to Earth.

"Hello, Comrade." Kian rumbled. "Welcome to the Unit."

Rusty made a little tiny noise, but it wasn't like he could stop himself from being moved even if he wanted to. He was passive as hell, probably hardly tipped the scales at 100 pounds, and Kian was very very large.

Hoss blinked at the sudden swirl, giving a hiss. His large purple eyes regarded Kian for a moment. Hmmm. Odd skin, three eyes, quite ugly. Nope, Hoss did not like you, strange thing! When Kian spoke to him, Hoss's eyes narrowed slightly. This language, he was learning it. He gave another little hiss. Nasty beast.

All three eyes narrowed in on him at those two hisses. While Kian knew another alien who spoke such a language, he rarely did it in aggression, such as this little one. That said - Autsu had more tolerance for angry little aliens then Kian had, himself, for anyone. The children he worked with learned it soon enough.

This would just not do. Aggressive children grew up like Rothe had - disgusting, angry little things with no concept of others or themselves. So, his lips pursed and he took the entirety of the pack.

"Take this off." He wanted to see how Hoss acted without being restrained. Perhaps that was it. Kian had never been very cheerful when locked in that cage that he once slept within. There was the chance this child was the same. "Let him out."

Rusty nibbled on his lip again. Oh, my. Large, frightening alien boy wanted to deal with the little ball of purple rage? Rusty seriously hoped he had a baby to take home after this was done.

"Okay..." He carefully undid the wrappings, extracting the baby. Hoss growled at him. For sure, he did not like the backpack thing. As soon as his 'hands' were free, he took a swing at Rusty, catching him on the wrist. even if the hooks were wrapped, they were still rather heavy.

The minute the wrapped hooks touched Rustys wrist, Kians hand wrapped around Hoss' wrist in return. The babys arm was jerked away from his Guardians and the child in question yanked into the air to dangle by the single appendage.

It didn't last for long. Kian grabbed the infants other arm and twisted him to hold Hoss upright, arms pinned to his sides, and he shook him. Yes, Kian was shaking an infant. In his mind, the child was an adult, and that adult damn well deserved it.

Someone should have smacked the s**t out of ROthe as well.

"Stop it." His voice was a growling hiss, pausing in the shaking to glare at the child in question. "You are an ADULT. I do not tolerate such things. Stop. It." At the end of each sentence, there was a little shake, although they were all much less angry then the first one.

Rusty made a little terrified noise, both hands going over his mouth. Oh my! "Uh-um!" The small man 'said', his eyes huge. Excuse me, mister large alien, but babies were not supposed to be shaken.

And Hoss stared. And stared. He worked on understanding the words, putting the puzzle together. And the whole time, he was quiet.

Finally, after a bit of thought, one corner of Hoss's mouth perked up. Hah. 'Adult'? So, he'd met someone who wasn't going to treat him like a soft little baby, huh? The little purple beast let out a little tiny laugh, watching Kian. Well, well, thing. You had intrigued him!

Kian scowled the entire time Hoss was contemplating the situation, ignoring Rustys little noises. Who cared what the guardian thought? This was a criminal issue - it was why the Unit was there: to help criminals meet with others, and help one another.

He squeezed the chuckling infant, just gently, to make his point, and then carried him to the living room where Deidre was still standing. Kian sat down, kneeling back a little on his heels in order to accomidate his tail, and he put Hoss down on the ground.

DDR smirked at her new fellow inmate, skinny arms crossing over an equally skinny chest. She hissed. Kian didn't bother reprimanding her but instead kept his gaze on Hoss. Curious boy. Then, the unthinkable. DDR sat down and reached over to the younger criminal. Under Kians watchful eyes, she (clumsily) started unwrapping the child and his hooks.

Rusty followed them into the room, nibbling on his nails. Oh, great. This probably wouldn't end well.

Hoss gave a slight hiss back, not necessarily a nasty one. Instead of watching DDR as she unwrapped him, his eyes moved to watch Kian. Hmph. Bald girl could do what she wanted. He had a feeling that the large one wouldn't put up with him beating her, after all.

It was only then did Kian realize he hadn't yet given the Gaian his name. Once satisfied that Hoss wasn't going to gouge out his nieces eyes, he turned slightly to look at Rusty. Poor squirming little guardian. He reminded Kian, briefly, of Mordread. Squirming, insecure, not sure how to handle such a dominating little prat of a baby.

At least He had the Unit, right? Right.

"I am Kian." He said finally, letting his third eye rest on the toddlers. "The Unit is for Hoss. Iamel sent you?"

Deidre didn't bother to move away once he was unwrapped. Instead, the girl picked up one of the hooks - or tried. They were heavy and she was weak. "Anne strong."

Rusty smiled again at the slightly less terrifying Kian. He tended to put one in mind of a kicked puppy. Initially frightened, skittish, but he'd forget that you were mean to him right quick and come back for more. "Mmhm. I met him in the thtore. Dee wath littler then." He said softly, looking at the pair. "He... Iamel.. He thaid it might help Hoth."

Hoss was watching DDR carefully. There seemed to be no aggression, but that was probably because she hadn't thrown anything at him yet, she'd unwrapped his hooks, and Kian would rip them out if he touched her. Hoss carefully lifted his hook, holding it out for her to touch if she wished.

"Mmm." Kian was watching the children as well, letting Rustys words sweep over his mind. It took him a minute to respond, that third eye flicking back to the human now. "There are rooms, a kitchen. Television, here. You are welcome. He may use them as he wishes."

The dark skinned girl was stroking her finger down the hook, green eyes intense, when Kian spoke. She glanced up wordlessly, fingers wrapping around the metal.

"Avrin lives here. He is large. Tsu comes and stays, often. There is Lissel. You will like her. he may not. There is me." Kian turned to face Rusty then, his face happily blank. "I am in charge. Tsu is my second."

A pause. "He did not come through Archie. Otherwise, he would have told you of us.. So. One of the ones we look for."

Rusty nodded carefully, now looking like a bobbleheaded puppy. "I... Uhm..." He turned slightly red. "Archie wath there, when he landed." He said softly. "But I think he wath buthy. He didn't tell me much. I have the paperth from hith pod."

Hoss watched them as well for a moment, then deemed their conversation important. His eyes moved back to Dee, watching her touch his hook. For a moment, anger welled up again. This was what he had instead of hands. Cold steel that, while useful in injuring others, couldn't feel.

"Pleh." He muttered, making a face.
