This board is for anyone to post anything strange that might have happened to them, a ghost sighting, an odd dream, deja-vu, having a psychic moment, seeing bigfoot, whatever you'd like! Maybe you're going someplace that is supposedly haunted or strange in some way, tell us about it!

The only rule for this board is that everyone respect other people's stories and opinions, no making fun of someone for posting a strange encounter, no making fun of a strange encounter. Everyone should feel comfortable saying what they have to say about their experiences!

I'm not sure if my story fits in this category, but I'll share it here anyway.

Let me start off by saying that I started today watching the show Torchwood, a show basically about aliens and stuff. After watching a couple of episodes of Torchwood, I decided to read the AOL news, and they had a story about a UFO. So this whole day aliens have been on my mind. At around 7:30pm my mom, my 2 dogs, Ruff and Freedly, and I went for a walk around my neighborhood. On our walk it started getting really dark really fast. As we were walking down one of the roads I saw this dark shadowy figure moving towards us. My dogs started freaking out, and so did I. It did not look human. It didn't look like it was walking, more like floating towards us, so I asked my mom "do you see that?" and she of course said "no, see what?" Well this shadow was getting closer and I screamed "IS THAT A PERSON?" At first the shadow didn't say a word. Then it got closer and as it was passing us all it said was "yes" and started laughing. It scared the hell out of me. Turned out to be some guy, wearing all black, riding his black bike. About 30 seconds later, I looked up in the sky, my heart was still racing, and I saw a shooting star. My mom saw it too. It looked more like a meteor then a shooting star, it was really bright, and greenish, and beautiful, and had perfect timing.

Ohhh, UFO sightings are cool! Especially since this is a guild board, the story is probably not completely bogus. After all you didn't get money to tell it, hehe. cool Personally I don't have many close encounters, that's my sister's department. I do dream of the future on occasion and have mad deja'vu all the time.

About UFO's, the closest I have seen is a rod. If you know what that is. I swear I saw one in my sis's room by the window. Then there was a long string of cloud going perfectly up in the distance a few years ago. Though living in Colorado it was probably not aliens.

The story I tell everyone about my dreaming of the future I tell because I can prove it, lol. I dreamed of sitting on a porch with people I have never seen before and a friend. She leaned over and handed me a hookah tube. When I woke up it was really bizzar, I even told my sister about it. About a month later I went with my friend to HER friend's birthday party and there I was sitting on their porch with people I never met. When she handed the tube to me I remembered and was shocked the rest of the evening. I really had dreamed that exact moment. My sis even remembered me telling her about it. One of my most vivid 'visions' to date. There really is no past or future, eh? ninja

I'll tell you guys a secret- I'm more afraid of aliens than any other supernatural phenomena. Just the thought that they could abduct me, or do what they like, and I might not even know it later until I realize an organ is missing or something equally horrifying, it, well, horrifies me xD Really, I've had nightmares about aliens. So there, now you know my deep dark secret. Well, not really. But that's one of them, I guess.

I need to watch Torchwood. I've heard it's good.

Once, at night, I was out in the street for some reason, and there was a huge green glow off in the distance. I mean, it lit the sky, it was so bright, and this was like 11pm. Lots of people saw it too, including my parents. They guessed it was a transistor that had exploded, but my mom still thinks it was aliens, lol. It probably was something easily explained, but it was still really creepy.

In terms of the dream stuff- I have deja-vu all the time. It's actually really annoying. But I don't even remember I had a dream or saw it before until it happens again, so I can't so much predict the future as know that I already knew when it happens, so it's kind of useless xD Very, very rarely I'll have a dream that will then happen, but usually not quite in the same way I dreamed it.

Being psychic runs in my family, actually. My gran has/had it, my mom, dad, brother, sister, me, and my little sister all have it. My gran's mom and grandmother had it. You could call it vivid dreams, imagination, or de ja vu, but we call it being psychic.

My worst fear is my worst nightmare coming true. Since normally, my dreams come true, I hope this one doesn't. ( I have another story to back this one up, just incase. )

So I was about seven or eight years old and the day before the event happened, I had a horrible dream where I was talking to my mother in her room and all of a sudden, she just died. I didn't tell her about it until the next day later than night. She had actually wanted to talk to me in her room, and we were set up like we were in the dream and I started freaking out.

I did run away from her and hid in my closet. She found me, unfortunately, and tried to help me up. I slapped her hand away. I didn't want her to touch me incase she did just die. So as I was screaming/crying/what not at her, I told her what happened.

That's that story.

Then, in third grade, I had a dream about a day at school and my teacher was telling us we'd have a spelling test, while she was writing it on the board, and she was writing the words down.

Well, I went to school the next day, and she started writing the stuff down, but before she did that ( just like in my dream ) she couldn't find the piece of chalk. So I found it for her, because I had seen it in my dream, and then I started saying what she was going to write on the board without her even writing. She looked at me all wide eyed, like I was some freak, but said it was correct.

It happened with a math test, I had seen the answer sheet in my dream, did what was there on the test, and got an A. So I cheated ... but that was only the second time. xD

ha, I have a poltergeist in my house. If we ever have air freshener in the bathroom, he knocks it down whenever I go in, and every night at exactly 10:04 he turns the stereo on. it's really creepy, cuz it starts off REALLY quiet, like at a whisper, and it gets so loud, you have to plug your ears. Usually I turn it off before then.

Okay, poltergeists do scare me a little. Ghosts don't really, but I had a bad incident with a stereo when I was very little and I've hated loud noises ever since. I won't investigate a poltergeist unless someone (or a few people) is with me.

Speaking of weird dreams, I often dream about the end of the world. And it always ends in a different way too. Once I had a dream that all the mountains had turned purple and the earth was collapsing in on itself, and another time my dream was that the other planets were getting too close to earth and were going to knock it out of orbit. That one was creepy because all the stars in the sky were really huge, and some planets took up almost a third of the sky. The moon was really close and a bright orange too. My last end of the world dream was a little more "normal", if you can call it that, I dreamed it was the apocalypse, and fireballs were raining down on earth. That one was really odd for me, though, because I'm not religious and all I know about the apocalypse is what I've seen in movies and cartoons. Mostly The Simpsons xD

But anyway, I hate it when I have those dreams because then I wake up and I'm not sure if the world really is coming to an end or not.

That's really creepy, Neko. But it shows you have a vivid imagination, at least. I have SO many realistic dreams, it's crazy, and half the time, I get pissed off when I realize they aren't real. That happened last night, actually. *sigh* I HATE when that happens.

I can only talk about some of my dreams. I either don't remember them or it just feels horribly wrong to tell someone. Like it's another life and I would be violating privacy if I did or something. All I know is that my dreams weren't meant for anyone else. If I try to tell it will slip away or I feel so wrong I have to stop. Like standing too close to a busy street, you just have to take a step back.

So many 'poltergeist' stuff has happened, I don't know what to believe sometimes. The most obvious and easiest to feel would be coming up our stairs from downstairs. You get this feeling and it makes you run. We have a door in our kitchen that leads to the stairwell, and you only feel better after you have closed it. The best way to describe it would be clingy. It feels like something is desperate for you not to go. As a kid I would panic, slam the door shut and run all the way into my parents room.

Hmm not much happens to me, since it's all attracted to my sister. I do get to see the street light go on or off when she walks by all the time. Not every time, but it happens a lot. The street light right in front of our house hasn't ever worked properly.

Yea ghosts and poltergeists are kinda scary. Aliens are only scary if I know they are REAL aliens, though fake ones are just as scary, for different reasons. A lot of that paranormal stuff is pretty scary, though only if it happens to me. Or is extra creepy. O.o

(Biggest fear = Big / ugly fish or any higher power messing with me.)

I think ghosts are really just things we can't perceive with the senses we have, so our brain registers it in the only way it knows how. That's why some people see stuff, some feel cold, some smell roses, or hear a scream. It's our brain perceiving it in the only way it can. biggrin

That is such an awesome way to look at it Gotunks! I never thought of it like that before, but I can see how that might be ^.^

I know this is going to sound weird, but you guys are so lucky. My house isn't haunted in the least (even though my mom likes to claim it is) and I wish it was. My old house used to be haunted in one room (and possibly the bathroom, sometimes my clock radio would come on at night), and I lived alone there for a while, so that was pretty cool. But now there are no ghosts, and it makes me sad ;_;

Eh...yeah....I know ohw you feel Neko. I watched his thing on the History channel with my dad. It was about aliens, and for months I couldn't sleep well at night crying I kinda got over it, but of all the Supernatural beings, I detest them the most.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 21, 2008 4:02 pm
Well...I'm absolutely IN LOVE with the supernatural. ^^
I watch the show "A Haunting" on the Discovery Channel. And also "Paranormal State" and "Most Haunted". There are a slew of other shows that I will watch on occasion, but I won't bore you.

So anyway, my family and I moved to a new house a couple years ago(will be two in July), and we're still living here. Of course, my mom doesn't believe me when I tell her my emotional problems and teen angst and all the other emotional baggage/wreck I am has created its own entity(ie a poltergeist).
I'm pretty sure it's trying to scare the hell out of me.
So there've only been a few times it's gone whacko, and both of those times I was under a lot of stress and either a)crying, b)yelling, c)just generally fuming with anger or frustration.
Coincidence?

So, naturally, in my basement it's dark, cold, dreary, and lonely. But I also hear weird noises coming from my laundry room(which I am terrified of, but I can't avoid it). The first time my creepy friend made itself known was when I was home alone in the basement. My comp is down there and so is a tv and radio, PS2, blah blah blah, so I was having a grand ole time freezing my arse off and the tv was on, the comp was on, and two lights. I was on the phone with one of my friends, as well.
I was talking to him about life and everything and crying and I started yelling like a crazy person in the phone and out of nowhere, all electricity is cut off. The comp, lights, tv, everything was off. It was pitch black. I started screaming and breathing harder and I kept whispering in the phone: "Oh my god, please don't hang up, please stay on the phone. Don't leave me alone down here. Oh my god." Yeah, that's how scared I am of basements. Kill me. -____- XD
So, of course, my friend was already worried about me because I have bad tendencies when I get upset and all, but he was promising not to hang up and still laughing at the same time. -____- l.o.l...-_-
Anyway, I get upstairs and all the lights up there are still ON. But I look down in the basement and everything is off and I tried to flick the light back on, but to no avail. I was thinking, "Oh hell no. There is no way that all the bulbs down there burnt out at the exact same moment. No way in HELL."

...That was the first time.

Now let's skip a few other weird things including noises, voices, blah blah blah.

The most recent time was just two days ago. I was really pissed off at the world at that given moment(it was just one of those days) and I had my iPod in my ears, listening to really angry music. I walked down in the basement with a basket of laundry and as soon as I got passed the pole right outside the laundry room, my iPod started getting all staticy and crackly. So I figured it was the batteries or bad radio reception, and then I realized it's an iPod. No batteries....no radio waves...
It was just weird. And as soon as I got back upstairs, it was working again.
...

Done with my rants now. XD
I hope all who read this aren't bored to death.

EDIT
I also get deja vu a lot....-shrug-

I get a lot of deja-vu...I have dreams about stuff and then a few days later, that happens. I never remember the dream until the event happens. It stinks
I'm really afraid of seeing things in those dreams because sometimes...I will remember the most vivid part of my dream.
