"Oh. Well, it was kinda cute..." Lyu called from behind a shelf. "I was going to catch it." She emerged, pouting.
"Did you find e=anything else out?" She seemed completely underterred by the watcher, now that she knew what it was.

Sokra studied her carefully. Then he burst into laughter. "Oh, oh that's rich. God of Disease is cute. Oh, that's a good one." He glanced down at the book. "The thing about the God of Disease is he isn't one of the most powerful of Gods, and he is the most powerful of Gods. Disease can lead to Death - that's where the Kant come in. But before he can hurt anybody, there has to be something already wrong with them. And if you have a non-lethal disease, he can't do anything to harm you. But my disease - now ours, I guess - is fatal enough that he can collect on his down payment. When I got this disease, it was because the previous owner was diseased. Disease is hoping for a chain reaction." He blew out a harsh breath. "But here's the thing - like I said, he can't harm someone not fatally ill. He can cause them to become fatally ill from a reaction like mine... but you have that collar. That's a blessed object, specifically to fight him. So he can't kill whoever has the collar. And since his brand of death is only followed by his diseases, he is not immortal. Only those who control life and death are immortal gods..." He turned to look at Lyu. "We can kill him. Rather, you can."

"Even dark things have their endearing qualities. Or else I would not be where I am...I think perhaps once I knew someone who...who was..." She faltered, and sat down, a little shaken.
"Ah, well. Continue on. I can kill him. How?"

He glanced at her out of the side of his eye and continued reading silently, but he spoke his thoughts out loud. "How would you kill a man? Surely, I would help you, but he has me firmly under his hold. All that stopped him before was the necklace. If I meet him face to face, it will be my end. I can't strike him down, but I can help you get to him."

(Aw, crap. I've completely forgotten where we were going. XD)

"I really have no idea. You said I could, so I can. How? I'll work that out at the necessary time." She nodded curtly, and leaned against the bookshelf behind her. Running her fingers over the gilt edging she wondered just how long it had taken to store so much knowledge.

(Discussing Disease's method to kill and how to kill him. Since he is a lesser god, he is mortal...ish.)

"Well, I mean no offense to you in any way, but the way you're in... I'm not sure you could kill an elite guardsman, much less a demi-god. We need to start training... and getting some sort of blessed weapon might help."

(I don't want to turn this into a whole quest-y thingy if you don't want to. The good thing about fighting Disease is that this 'blessed weapon' could be anything that helps or prevents sickness. If we don't go for finding Excalibur or sumthin, we could kill him with Soap.)

{Wewt, soap!}

"Hmm. I guess that could be interesting. I don't knwo what I'm supposed to be doing, but that sounds like a good enough plan." A flicker of the shelves she'd seen - not the booklined shelves that sat in front of her - hovered behind her eyelids. It was almost there, but not quite solid enough to grab on to.
She tilted her head, staring blankly.
"First step is?"
