The Broken Angel Inn is one of the most famous inns in the entire town of Erasade. It is a great place to collect information, rest, recuperate, meet friends, find lovers, and talk. The bar is run by an old man with white hair and a beard. The actual room's part of the place is run by a young woman with blond haired named Sarah. If you wish for a room, inquire for Sarah. Inside is a bar, tended by Abel, a friendly yet spicy senior with a long white beard and mustache. He never passes up a chance to gossip, or hear some. He's always ready to serve at a moments notice, but if he finds someone he doesn't like, he let's them know.

Somehow the young woman, yet to name herself, managed to convince Isaac to allow her to stay by his side. She claimed it was the least she could do for him. She owed him her life. Soon after being put-up at the inn for the night, she pledged her life to serving him. "Be my servant?" Isaac questioned as he sat on the bed. She nodded vigorously. "I owe you, Sir Isaac! I will not take no for an answer!" She replied. He sighed, but finally accepted it. This woman wasn't going to let him wander off right now. Besides, he was weak and having someone around wouldn't be too much of a terrible thing. He sighed and laid back on the bed, a sigh escaping his lips. "How long will it take you to recuperate?" She questioned pouring him a glass of water from the bedside pitcher. He sighed, sitting up and taking the glass from her. He drained it quickly. "A few days." He replied, lying back again. He closed his eyes for a moments rest. "...Sir Isaac..." The woman began. He opened one eye to look at her. "...You're a vampire, aren't you?" She questioned. He sat up and tried his best not to glare at her. Yes, he was. He was a full fledged vampire born of vampire blood... but he... did not drink human blood because it caused too much of a problem. He survived off human foods and animal blood. Which didn't give him much strength. Over the years he had been working on less that maximum efficiency. "I am." He said finally. The woman sat on the edge of his bed and moved her hair, turning her neck towards him. "What are you doing?" He growled. His eyes, however, were stuck on the throbbing artery in her neck. He could see it, gently pulsing, beneath her soft flesh. The rhythmic sound brought him to a state of half-consciousness. The touch of her warm pale flesh under his fingertips... the taste of her skin under his lips... He pulled back, coming back to reality. "Why didn't you drink?" She questioned. "I want you to." She added, tilting her head back again. His eyes focused on the tender spot and he felt his body moving towards the source of life... Fangs bared, he drove them deep into her flesh, bringing crimson rubies to the surface. He closed his lips around the wound and silently, relished the taste of the warm substance as it poured into his mouth and down his throat. 'Why?' He wondered as he drank. Why had he stopped drinking this life fluid such a long time ago? It was empowering, warm and rich. He heard her gasp and felt her body descend into convulsions. He pulled away, wiping a thin trail of blood from the side of his mouth. He hadn't taken too much... She had just fainted. He set her down on the bed, noticing that her face was flushed and the corners of her eyes were wet. He wandered over to a chair in the corner of the room and sat in it, watching her chest move up and down with the steady rhythm of her breathing. Something about this woman... But he could not figure out what it was...

"ARRRRRRGH." Shay shouted. He jumped backwards, flailing his arms. What the heck!? He looked around frantically. Lights from the sky? What had just attacked him? He patted his chest where the strange light had entered him, noting that there was no pain. He was about to pull his shirt up to check his flesh for any curse marks or indentations when he realized the entire bar had gone silent at his cries and was now staring at him. Many men with lustful eyes watched him carefully... He sighed, and held up his hands. "I apologize for the disturbance. I spotted a spider and got a little riled up. That's all. Nothing to worry about. Please go back to enjoying your beverages and... things." He smiled cheerfully. Most of the people went back to what they were doing but many of the men continued to watch him. "I'd also like to take this time to announce that, no matter how feminine I appear I am a MAN." Yes that's right folks. That means I have a...- The men all looked away at that point. He sighed, clearly annoyed. People were always ALWAYS mistaking him for a woman. Just once he'd like to have someone come up to him and say 'Excuse me SIR.' He lifted up his shirt and checked his skin for any marks. His body was clean... no markings, no indentations or discoloration... Just smooth white skin. What the hell could that light have been then? He put his shirt back down and tightened his robes. "Barkeep? Do you have sparkling water, or something along those lines?" He questioned. The barkeep stroked his beard, shaking his head. "Nah, but we might be havin a bit o' water an' ale..." Came the raspy reply. Shay winced at the thought. He really didn't like those types of drinks. However... "I'll just have ale." He mumbled, straightening his glasses. The barkeep nodded and proceeded to fill the order. He slapped a silver mug filled with frothy goodness down directly in front of Shay. "Enjoy." He rasped. Shay returned it with a graceful and eloquent smile. The barkeep blushed and looked away. Grabbing the mug of ale, Shay took careful sips. He spiraled downwards into thought. He was here because the king supposedly had gotten his hands on hellfire. Shay was quite fond of fire, it being one of his most favorite elements to manipulate... however hellfire was dangerous and meant only for hellions. The fact that the king, a mere human, had gotten his hands on it... Shay was worried about the kingdom. He would infiltrate the castle, find the king, destroy the hellfire, and save the kingdom. He felt that there were forces beyond that of their demented king at work, however... He might need the help of others to achieve this. The only thing that worried him was trust.

†☽† ქԷ'Ֆ მℓωმՎՖ ძმԸƘΣՖՇ ßΣԲՓԸΣ ՇխΣ ძმωՊ †☽† Entering the bar, Isaac made himself comfortable as he sat down next to a rather beautiful looking... man? Yes it appeared that this person with pale ivory colored skin was indeed a man, although it would be easy to mistake him for a woman. Isaac also noted that the man was Elven... And appeared to be wearing the garb of a spellcaster. How odd... and daring. Originally spellcasters were honored and revered in Erasade, but ever since the king had turned dark, all those capable of magic had started to hide their skills. Anyone found to be practicing the magical arts, or capable of potential was sought out and captured. They were taken to the castle and never seen again. Even Isaac had no idea what had become of them. So either this man was really brave, or he was just an idiot. "You there." Isaac called. The man looked up and smiled graciously. "Hello there sir. I bet you thought I was a women, yes? Unfortunately for you I happen to be a man. So please don't try to pick me up." Isaac grinned. He must get mistaken for a woman often. "No I can tell you're a man." The man's brow furrowed. "I might be pretty but I'm not into men, so please-" "Rather obnoxious of you, don't you think? When did I ever say I was trying to pick you up?" Isaac sneered. The man appeared shocked. "I just...have never had..." "I don't care about your past. I'm just curious about why you're not trying to hide the fact that you're a spellcaster. You know that if they find you they'll take you to the castle?" "Yes where I'll never be heard from again. I've heard the stories. I originally grew up here... but I left to further my training. Things sure have changed since I was a child. Back then the magician was honored. Now we hide... Don't we?" He raised an eyebrow and grinned slightly at Isaac. Isaac was taken aback. It was obvious that he was a vampire, you just had to look at him to figure that out... but to know that he was a spellcaster just by looking? What manner of man, or Elven creature was this guy? "...Indeed. Years ago this kingdom was a peaceful one. All who lived in it were happy and no one needed to hide... But now..." "But now the hellfire rumor has spread, and the king has gained power. Rumors that the king is going to awaken the devil himself are rocketing about. That's what brought me back home." "Let me just ask..." Isaac began. "How powerful are you? Powerful enough to fend off the guards when they come to take you away?" "I'm powerful enough to control hellfire should I get a hold of it..." He paused. "And I could still keep this state of mind." "I'll have to admit, if you're not bluffing then that makes you far more superior in your magical skills than I am." "Of course it does." He replied, taking a sip of the ale in front of him.

o o c ;; Sorry, I really have no idea what this setting is like. Kinda ranted on it for a little while, trying to get mah writing skillehz back(notthatieverhadany). XD
After nodding happily towards Vayle, Kavanna skipped over towards the inn, kicking dust into her own face. Twitching as the dirt irritated her skin, and entered her nose and skin, she began a fit of coughing. Despite such stupid actions, however, she skipped onwards towards the ‘Broken Angel Inn.’ Without much care or caution of the creaky sign above her, ( despite early thoughts ) Kavanna merilly entered the inn. Stepping inside, she realized how big the place actually was. People were all around her, speaking of random things; of gossip, of love, of pranks or work. Kavanna smiled, liking the warm and friendly atmosphere – like everyone knew each other, and this was the place they all gathered. Glancing around, she saw a collection of many sorts – old men groaning in the far corner over there, young ladies gossiping away at the bar, little kids getting told to leave as they clung onto their mothers or fathers. The place felt like what one could call home, regardless of that place where people stayed with a family. Perhaps the castle provided fear, and this, this ‘Broken Angel Inn’ was the place for people to gather and chat, possible forgetting the big, tacky castle planted in the middle of such a nice town. Regardless of whether or not this thought was right, Kavanna knew such a thing was ridiculous – that most townspeople hated such a dictatorship.
Past experiences had proved that only to well.
Smirking lightly for about a half a second, Kavanna wiped her face clean of any hate, and slid over towards a bar stool. Waiting patiently, Kavanna watched as the bartender gossiped amongst the young ladies. How old were they anyways? Couldn’t be a little older…naw…younger? Tilting her head to the side, she speculated their age, going up and down, noticing a gray hair here, some wrinkles there. Turning to her left however, there were two men in deep concentration – one elven, and other… Wait, why did he look so familiar? Still in deep concentration as the bartender asked her what she needed, she continued to analyze the nearby men. With a 5 minute delay, Kavanna suddenly turned like whiplash, hair probably lethally injuring anyone nearby with it’s spikes as it flew through the air.
“Oh! Oh yeah! Uh…I don’t know. What did I want again?” Scratching her head, she caught the eye of Vayle who was still dragging along the cute little kid. Smiling like an idiot, she waved them over, motioning to the free seats on either side of her. As the two came up behind her, Kavanna turned back to the bartender.
“Hiya~! Sorry for that weird introduction before! I’m Kavanna! Anyways, I was wondering if you knew the name of the bar down there,” She pointed, directing her finger straight ahead. “You know, it’s right next to that silly looking castle you guys’ve gotcha.” Scratching her head, she debated whether or not asking what she wanted to ask.
“Is it like…one of those places mercenaries gather?”

† ԲՓԸΣעΣԸ მՊძ ΣՇΣԸՊქՇՎ † (( I didn't know if you planned to control the barkeeper or not while he was talking to you. Usually it's whoever comes in gets to control him, but I've controlled barkeepers before... It's just whatever you'd prefer. So that's why I didn't use the barkeeper to respond to Kavanna. 8D And it's cool about the rattling on... wasn't really rattling it was fine. Only thing is that it's dawn and you've got like kids in the bar. xDDD It's fine, don't worry. We've got us an interesting town. It's not a big deal really. I just kinda laughed thinking of like five year old kids getting drunk at dawn. XDDDD Ahhh... Sorry. I'm kinda bored over here.)) 'The lass sure is happy...' He thought, plunking Kruz down in an empty seat to Kavanna's right. "Behave kid, ya hear me?" He growled. Kruz narrowed his eyes at Vayle, but appeared to be more hungry than angry. Spinning around he slapped his hands on the bar top and demanded he be brought a basted turkey leg and a large ale. He didn't appear to follow the rule 'ladies first'. 'The kid's going to run my pocket dry...' Vayle though, sighing as he sat down to the left of Kavanna. "Twirp, can a kid like you really hold his liquor?" Kruz spun himself towards Vayle, eyes burning. "I can drink you under the table, pops." He sneered. "HAH!" Vayle exclaimed, clearly amused that he had just received a challenge from the pint-sized pipsqueak. "Are you TRYING to get yourself into a drinking contest with me? I'm usually drunk before noon! I can handle far more than your little man-kid body could ever hold!" "You're usually drunk before midday? That's...not something to brag about, pops." Kruz responded. He appeared to be reconsidering. He'd have no chance against a drunk... "I knew it! He's still a toddler." Vayle replied, nudging Kavanna. He grinned at her. "A real man can accept a challenge without fear." ...It appeared Vayle was looking for an excuse to get drunk, as he sneered at Kruz, knowing fully that provoking the kid would change his mind. They'd both be drunken and stupid soon enough... "THAT'S IT POPS, YOU'RE ON!" Kruz shouted, grabbing a drink off a tray as a serving wench passed by. She jumped and paused to stare at him, slightly insulted. He downed it in one large gulp. Vayle sneered, watching the kid as he slapped his cup down triumphantly, having drunk the first mug. "That was great practice kid. Except we're not having a water drinking contest." Kruz's face flushed, the tips of his ears becoming red as he glanced at the now empty mug... Running his tongue along the roof of his mouth he realized that the old geezer was right. He'd just chugged a glass of water. The bar erupted into half drunken laughter as those who had been paying attention to the ruckus laughed at Kruz's childish mistake. "Then get us some beers! So we can have a proper contest." Kruz growled. Vayle chuckled. "Why don't you just eat your meat and go to bed, little boy." Kruz's determination grew and he fired off a warning glare. Vayle slapped his hand on the bar top. "Oy, barkeep. Once you're finished filling this lovely lady's order, bring us some beer for a contest. My little friend here and I need to settle something." The bartender nodded and proceeded to collect Kavanna's order.

o o c ;; I have no idea what I'm even doing anymore. LADIDA-shot-
Kavanna watched the two boys fight amongst each other, thinking the same thing about both of them. With a smug smile, she chuckled lightly to herself. Raising an eyebrow, she played around with the glass filled to the brim with what appeared to be beer. A light brownish-yellow, foamy at the top, ready to overflow. Kavanna nodded to the bartender as thanks, and he left to obey Vayle’s large order. Her slim finger played with the rim of the glass, using only a bit of force to push it left, the fluid almost sliding down the edge, yet just in time, she’d catch it, and push it to the right instead. As Vayle and Kruz continued to bicker amongst one another, Kavanna’s gaze continued to stare at the glass, rather, stare through it, as one might observe. As a single golden eye glazed over, Kavanna found herself staring at a tall glass filled with crimson liquid. She smirked at her thoughts and blinked the shade away, turning to Kruz as practically the entire room seemed to laugh at him. Kavanna gave him an empty glance, eyes seemingly looking past him, right through him, past the two men speaking with one another, past the annoying woman over there, even through the wall. She didn’t laugh, she didn’t smile – she just gave him a look of blank amusement.
Sighing with little enthusiasm, Kavanna clicked her tongue. It was so boring without Allusian – there was no one to tease. Of course there was this little elven boy, but what entertainment did that provide her? Already her typical attitude was beginning to set in – lazy, unmotivated, and uncaring. Quite a difference from her usual self when annoying Allusian.
Sliding her chin on the table, Kavanna looked towards the ceiling with quite the i-am-so-freakin’-bored expression. She scratched at her right eye, nails dangerously close to ripping through the flimsy patch. The bartender stopped her short, however, slamming another glass of beer on the table, his reason for doing so unknown. Kavanna hadn’t even finished the first glass. He watched her with mismatched eyes, Kavanna only raising an eyebrow. He asked her what she needed, and she responded with the same question. The man watched her silently, and then slammed both his hands down on the table.
Kavanna didn’t flinch, she just continued to stare onwards with her single golden eye.
I don’t like you.
Smiling back, she tilted her head sideways, cradling her head in her arms. The bartender continued to watch her, the air between the two tense.
Yeah, mercenaries gather there.
With a sudden urge, Kavanna yawned loudly, and moved from her strange position. Twirling around on the bar stool, she tilted her head to the left and bounced it around, to the right, and so forth. Finally deciding on how to sit, Kavanna re-placed herself, and plopped back down on the bar stool right between Vayle and Kruz. Smiling once again like an idiot, Kavanna regained her original position that she’d had in the first place. “Thank y-“
You’re a very warped child.
She covered her mouth, trying to control herself from breaking out in laughter. As her attempt however failed to work, Kavanna broke out in a fit of laughter, unable to control herself – seemingly unaware of the bartender’s fierce glare.
“Pfffttaaaaaaahahahahahaha~!”

He quickly turned towards Kruz whose eyes were wide as well. "It wasn't anything I did... She just started laughing." He responded. "You think the bartender put something odd in her drink?" Kruz mumbled, trying to get a better look at her. "For goddsakes, boy... She's right here and can hear us." Vayle replied. "What's got you so tickled, fair lass?" He questioned.

o o c ;; OHNNOES, WRITERS BLOCK! D; [/cowers in fear]
With her single shrill laugh that had ripped through the air, already, Kavanna had taken the attention of practically the whole room. Eyes easing as her tone came to a rough stop, she continued to glance towards the bartender. Their eyes leveled for a short while, the bartender the one to pull away first. He turned to his left, eyes diverting her careless gaze. Smiling widely, Kavanna felt a triumphant win, and finally turned to face Vayle, who’s question had been hanging in the air for a bit of a while now.
“Aah…it’s nothing…” Ending it with a smug smile, Kavanna ruffled her hair and watched Kruz out of the corner of her eye, knowing that he had been staring (whether or not he had known it,) for quite the long while now. With little warning, the tall, silver haired beauty stood up all to quickly. Turning to Vayle and Kruz, she placed her hands on her hips and smirked gleefully.
“Glad to meet’cha guys. I’ll probably meet up with ya later, sounds like fun! But right now, I have a little business to attend. See ya~!”
Cheerfulness seemingly back into place, Kavanna skipped out the door, arms swinging through the air. She skipped through the town, through the tiny groupings of people despite the early hour, into the man probably only a few years older than her, into the dark alley around the corner. Her pace slowed she stepped deeper into the long and narrow alleyway, now swinging her hands behind her back. Kavanna clicked her heels together, footsteps behind her echoing louder and louder.
She stopped, after reaching the end – a tall wall, probably the back of a building – the chimney exerting smelly fog, smoke from a morning log fire. Nothing more than an innocent want to warm up the house. A faint smile remained as Kavanna tilted her head to the side. She stood still, but she knew she wasn’t alone. Hands still held together behind her, Kavanna listened as the steps came to deafening silence. As she felt her neck pulled backwards, muscular arms constrict around her seemingly frail and delicate figure, Kavanna’s face froze; the faint smile glued in place.
With a sigh, she waited. The man allowed himself to let his arms explore around her body, an altogether way to creepy laugh for Kavanna’s liking. With a disgusted laugh, human arm became claw. Skin tissue was ‘torn,’ black gloves were ripped, nails were sharpened and elongated. Palms became tough leather pads, thick and protective, surrounded amidst pure white fur. With her hands still behind her back, Kavanna pierced through the man’s skin, stopping his actions completely. He stood, reaction delayed, for about a minute, face open, eyes bursting open with a mix of fear, shock, and curiosity. Even if he had screamed the second she’d attacked him, it never would have done him any good. Already, Kavanna had ripped her paws upward through his weak, pale, flesh, the scent of blood all too thick. As she continued to rip apart his body, Kavanna licked at the gouged wounds here and there, careful enough to not get any blood on her clothing. Blinking her eyes with no horror at the crime she’d just committed, Kavanna merely laughed with disgust, rather, it was pure and utter hate – for herself.
BLEED FOR YOU
Standing atop the roof, right beside the chimney, human hands held the minced remains of what once was a human – fully alive and kicking just minutes ago. The meal had been all to quick, unbelievably quick for it to be the feat of a human. With little care, mismatched eyes through the remains down the chimney one by one, that job as well done quickly. Even before she was fully done, Kavanna heard the shrieking cry of horror from inside the house, or shop – whatever the residence was. With a twisted smirk, she threw the last piece down the chimney – the head.
With her feet now taking her away, Kavanna ran – and she ran fast. Sure, tracing her would be nearly impossible, but she knew the other…’similar creatures’ of the town, would probably feel disgust towards her regardless. She flew across the rooftops at a seemingly un-catchable speed, eyes darting about, as the ever so famous, super-tacky castle came into view. Descending downwards into yet another dark alley, Kavanna slipped into the darkness, cast by the overhand of the bar. With a triumphant smile, and a full stomach, she walked bravely into daylight, around the corner, and smack into the bar.
Now to find Allusian~!

† ԲՓԸΣעΣԸ მՊძ ΣՇΣԸՊქՇՎ ...ქԷ'Ֆ ჵԱՖՇ მՊՓՇխΣԸ ՖωΣΣՇ ძԸΣმɱ... † Vayle was rather shocked when Kavanna stood up suddenly and pranced out of the bar. From the look on Kruz's face, Vayle suspected he hadn't seen that coming either. "She's like a nymph..." Kruz muttered, not even realizing the words had come out of his mouth. It was true, however. She left behind an aura of mystery and enchantment. Perhaps it was just that she was inhuman, but Kruz himself was inhuman and should be immune to that. Vayle broke the silence, suddenly snapping back to reality. "Kid I don't actually have the money at the moment for a drinking contest. Besides without a fair beauty around there's no reason for me to prove anything. I'm not here to impress you." He stated scratching the back of his head. Kruz was actually quite glad for the excuse and just nodded. He didn't know for sure how much he could drink before passing out. Vayle's bloody eyepatch caught Kruz's attention. "Hey pops, what happened to your eye?" He inquired, tapping his own left eye as a visual aid to his question. As if Vayle needed a reminder of which eye was now useless... "Glad to know you're not shy." Vayle mumbled, taking a large swig from his ale. He set the mug down loudly and sighed. His manner suddenly became serious and he stared deeply into the bar top. For a few minutes he said nothing. But then... "...It was a mistake on my part. It was dark, the area was unfamiliar, and I was young and reckless... My better half figured we should turn back but I didn't listen. Whether it was pride or ... or just ambition..." He trailed off. Was it Kruz's imagination or was Vayle's right eye a bit cloudy at the moment? "VAYLE! Behind you!" "...You fool... Why would you save an idiot like me?" Vayle thought to himself at the sudden memory. He sat in silence. Kruz reluctantly respected it until Vayle spoke once more in a misted tone. "I suppose I had something to prove. I really do regret it..." He turned and looked directly at Kruz. "Don't ever let your young and reckless attitude cloud your judgment, kid. It's not worth it... It never was and never will be." Kruz swallowed, the intensity of Vayle's gaze suddenly spooking him a bit. Vayle's past appeared to be worse than he let on with his carefree, playboy manner. "I'll keep that in mind, pops."

Shay and Isaac continued to talk for a few minutes, paying no attention to the random fits of laughter that the bar's participants seemed to be experiencing. Shay's glasses flashed as he tilted his head at Isaac and threw a question at him. "Do you plan to get involved in the destiny of this kingdom?" A woman's laugh rang out randomly, but the two were so engrossed in their conversation that they failed to notice. Isaac's expression grew more serious. 'Destiny'. Now that was a word everyone seemed to be throwing around recently, including himself. But what exactly did that mean, really? "My future seems to be intertwined with that of this kingdom. And not only because some ice demoness appeared and told me that. So yes, I suppose so." Isaac replied.Shay appeared far more interested at the mention of the strange woman and leaned forward. "Ice demoness?" He questioned.Vayle sighed and looked over to his right to see both Isaac and Shay deep in conversation. His eyes light up and a devilish smile snaked across his face as he caught sight of Shay, mistaking this extravagant beauty as a woman. To Vayle, even if a woman was standing at the altar with her fiancee he could stroll up and hit on her. The fact that Shay was now speaking with Isaac didn't bother him in the least. "I may not have enough for a drinkin contest, but I have enough to get that beauty loose." He muttered. "BARKEEP!" He shouted, summoning Able. Able sauntered over to Vayle and raised an eyebrow, awaiting his request. "The strongest thing you've got... for that lass over there." He said quietly. Able chuckled and nodded, grabbing a mug and filling it up.Kruz frowned at Vayle. "You're pathetic, pops. All you seem to think about is booze and women."Vayle threw a glare at Kruz. "And you're a shrimp. Nobody gives a rat's a** what you think."The barkeep deposited a mug of some sort of alcoholic beverage -apparently very strong judging by its smell- directly in front of Shay. "Compliments of that gent o'r thar." Able replied. Shay nodded and smiled graciously. "Thank you." He accepted. Able nodded and retreated.Isaac couldn't help but chuckle. "This happen to you often?""Far too often..." Shay mumbled. He raised the glass turning towards Vayle and smiled gracefully in thanks, and then returned to the conversation with Isaac. "They think I'm a woman... They always think I'm a woman. And they're always trying to get me drunk and into their beds. It's disgusting. I understand why women can hate men." He paused. "As if my looks aren't feminine enough... apparently my voice is 'girlie' too. I have to VOCALIZE, 'hey I have no breasts. You can go away now.". He grumbled."Any of them actually succeed?" Isaac couldn't help but ask that one."Have some manners, you lout." Shay snapped, chugging the warm liquid. He bit his lip as he set the glass down and exhaled loudly. "I have some dignity. I drink what I'm given but I never go home with anyone.""Right." Isaac replied, grinning. He matched eyes with Vayle who was watching them carefully, smirked, and then ordered another strong drink from Able for Shay.Shay glared at him. "Don't encourage a contest over me." He growled."A contest over you?" Isaac scoffed. "I just want to see what he'll do. I'm bored with this conversation already." He replied simply."You'd better not be. Answer my question about the Ice Demoness." He commanded.Vayle puffed out his chest, clearly agitated that Isaac had challenged him. He stood up, and headed over to them.Isaac noticed Vayle heading towards them and hid his smile. "Here comes your admirer." He whispered. Shay gave a look of utter disgust but sighed as Vayle stopped beside them. Isaac ignored him. "The Ice Demoness explained about the kingdom and then stuck me with a ray of light. That is why my fate seems to be tied to this kingdom." He stood up to leave, wanting to observe Shay and Vayle from a distance."Stuck you with a ray of light?" Shay paused thinking, also ignoring Vayle. "Explain exactly what you mean by that."This comment also seemed to catch Vayle's interest, and he turned his head to look at Isaac. From this distance he could tell that Isaac was inhuman, as well as the woman.Isaac sighed obnoxiously. "A ray of light pierced my chest leaving no external markings. I didn't see it, I only felt it. She said it marked the souls of those destined to take action. She said nothing about the Kingdom actually being restored... In fact she left with a rather sinister note, indicating she felt that this kingdom would be overrun with darkness."Shay put a hand on his chest where the light from earlier had been. "...I suppose we're both 'marked' then, because I too was pierced with an odd ray of light earlier this evening."Isaac's eyes narrowed and he turned back towards Shay. "...Perhaps I won't leave on such a note then after all. The last person I met who was tied in with this tromped off, ignoring the call. Besides, you seem to have a good amount of power, which I could use..."Vayle cleared his throat. "Not to interrupt but... I think I was slammed with those light rays you're talking about."Isaac scoffed. "The elf is a man, however sexy he may be to you. So stop your bullshit and go home."Vayle jumped, looking at Shay as if he were a ghost."It's true. I am a man. You're not the first to mistake me for a female, or to hit on me... So don't feel bad." Shay laughed, though clearly agitated."Well I feel like an idiot..." He mumbled. "But it's not bullshit. I thought I had too much to drink but I saw a ray of light just like you described enter my own chest."Isaac looked Vayle up and down, sizing him up. "You're just a human though..." He grumbled. However, the more he looked at him the more he could feel it radiating from within... Vayle was indeed marked by the light. "...I guess that makes us comrades... for now."( 3 ) ( 20 ) ( 13 ) ( 10 ) † ԲՓԸΣעΣԸ მՊძ ΣՇΣԸՊქՇՎ ...ქԷ'Ֆ ჵԱՖՇ მՊՓՇխΣԸ ՖωΣΣՇ ძԸΣმɱ... †

Careful not to slam the wooden door, a cheerful young man stepped outside, electric blue hair swishing in the morning wind. As he squinted his eyes at the morning sun, a lazy yawn escaped his mouth, right hand proceeding to attempt and cover it. Scratching his head with his left, the young man motioned a friendly wave towards a passerby, towards another, and another. Just as his yawn ended with a tired ‘umph,’ the man glanced upwards at a friendly face in response to hearing his name called.
Avi! Mornin’! Going to work?
Smiling in response, Avignian waved towards the older man, he nodded. “Yup, my shift changed.” Hey, that’s not bad. Everybody gets to wake up, listening to your piano music! Glancing downwards, Avi laughed, and scratched the back of his head. With a humble thanks, he turned to his left, and began walking down the street, waving hello here and there. It was a daily thing for Avi, waving hello, and smiling at the townspeople – he knew almost all of them anyways. This town was his home, whether or not he had been born here. In truth, Avi wasn’t particularly sure of his birthplace at all – he just knew that his parents had come to the village of Erasade, and it hadn’t been willingly.
Shrugging his shoulders, Avi slid his hands into his pockets after messing up his hair once again. Sighing heavily, he yawned as his crimson eyes set upon the castle within the town. As far as he remembered, it had always been there – intimidating yet so hideous all at the same time. It was much too large for Erasade, and the decorations and specific details of the building was much to extravagant. The castle would probably fit in a larger town, more densely populated, in a town not as simple and poor as Erasade. Pulling his gaze away from the building, Avi returned his course to the Broken Angel Inn, where he had been headed in the first place. Unexpectedly, he paused right between a bar and an alleyway. Raising a curious eyebrow, he took a step forward, only to walk straight into a young lady who was probably only a year or so younger than himself. Tipping his head in apology, Avi smiled sadly, and bowed. “I’m so-“
Ah, sorry, it was my fault.
The young lady walked on, an innocent smile on her face. Taking in her features, Avi took note of her white hair and eye patch. He paused, and turned fully around, noticing how much she stood out. Her height, her eyes, and her clothing…and the strange mark on the back of her left thigh. The shade was a mix between dark red and a shade of brown. Blinking at the image of her disappearing into the bar he had just passed, Avi turned back around, figuring the mark was only a simple birthmark. After a single step, Avi flinched at the sound of a shrieking scream, his ears splitting at the shrill noise. Raising his hands to his ears, he waited for the noise to stop, not expecting a flash of light to knock him off his feet. At the blinding shimmer of the ray, Avi blinked repeatedly, not believing what he had just seen, not understanding how such a thing could happen in an instant. Glancing around him, Avi watched passerby run by him, not even noticing him sitting down with a dumbstruck expression. Everybody was rushing to what Avi expected to be, the source of the scream. In utter shock, the young man stumbled for a few minutes, struggling to stand up on his feet. After many unsuccessful attempts, Avignian was still wobbling back and forth, holding his head in his hands, the scream still echoing within his mind. The sound waves resounded from the left side of his mind to the right, to the left, and back and forth. Placing a shivering hand on a nearby wall, Avi shook his head, trying to remove the sounds within his mind. Strangely enough, nobody seemed to notice his pain, nobody offered a hand of help. Feeling selfish, Avi realized the woman who had screamed was probably in more pain than he, and thus struggled forwards into the street, wobbling in the same direction as the disaster area using nearby objects as support.
As he reached the source of terror, Avi blinked, crimson eyes not functioning properly. Questioning his health, the young man wondered why such a simple scream was able to put him in such a shape. As Avi slumped against a wall, he watched from afar a crowded group of civilians, all whispering and murmuring about something. All of the voices seemed to reach Avi as they poured into his ears, a beat amongst them thumping loudly against his eardrum. Biting his lip in pain, Avi struggled to remove all of the sound, nothing helping whatsoever. As he sat scrunched up against a wall, slumped on the ground, a familiar face found Avi’s painful expression. With much care as she held worry, a blond hair woman carrying a bag of groceries steadily ran towards Avi. As she set the bag down next to him, the woman placed her soft hand on his cheek, eyes gazing into Avi’s own.
Avi…Avi! What’s wrong? Avi, listen to me…Avi?! Oh for goodness sakes, HELLO?!
Blinking repeatedly until he found a familiar shape, Avi struggled to read the specific details of the face, only knowing that this was a woman, and this woman was blond. In sudden realization, the young man struggled to ignore the echoing voices surrounding him, and to actually listen to the woman’s words.
“Sarah? That’s you…right…?”
Avi? Avi, what’s wrong?! Are you wounded? Avi!
“Thank goodness…”
Feeling safety was near, Avi blinked away into the darkness, his body slumping to the side of the wall behind him as he passed out. With a relaxed smile, the noises backed away one by one, until all but one remained, a song rather familiar yet distant. It was a song of his childhood, perhaps? The melody was played on a music box, yet as it ventured further into the chorus, other instruments were used – however all the while, Avi heard the music box and it’s mesmerizing tune, feeling a mixture of fear and comfort at the haunting theme.
With a dumbfounded look on her face, Sarah glanced down at the sleeping Avi, the young man looking so peaceful. Shaking the comfort off her face, she reached for the bag of groceries and placed them atop Avi’s stomach, placing his hands atop the brown bag to keep it from falling. With careful precision, she picked the young man up with slight ease, holding him within her arms. “Alright, here we gooo…”
As she carried him into the Broken Angel Inn, a few heads turned, but the regulars merely shrugged. More were in shock at the man she held in her arms. Sarah’s strength had been what made her famous, other than her great looks and attitude. As she set him down behind bar counter, Sarah seated the unconscious man half slumped against a wall, and half falling off the chair. As she pushed Abel away, the young woman fumbled for a glass of water, not able to decide what sort of liquid to fill the glass with, finally deciding with water as to how it was the cheapest.
“Wakkkkkeeeee…up!” Splashing the water upon Avignian’s face, Sarah dumped the entire glass atop his head, and after placing the glass right in front of a group of men, proceeded to slapped Avi’s face until it turned red.
The song was ending. It was ending like every dream should, getting further and further away from his grasp, as if it were floating into the sky, the distance becoming greater and greater, the sound becoming so soft until he couldn’t hear it. Knowing that he was asleep, Avi closed his eyes, knowing he would wake up soon, and the soothing melody would be heard no more. Feeling something beneath him shaking, Avi reluctantly opened his eyes and glanced downwards, feeling a surge of fear echo through him. This was a dream, and he wouldn’t die.
Even so, the young man screamed as the cracked ice beneath his feet broke through.
Avignian couldn’t swim.
Gasping for air, Avi clasped at his throat with his left hand, right hand struggling to reach for the surface above him. Amongst the pain and the struggle, Avi felt familiarity within this situation. Somewhere, somewhere far away, such a situation had occurred. Feeling pain pull him back into this fake reality, Avi choked out his last breath, eyelids giving out. His arms felt weak, and his legs no longer felt the strength to struggle. As his eyes fluttered downwards, Avi caught sight a strange image, one that would haunt him for more than just a while.
“W…w..w-what!? What the…”
Glad to see you alive Avi! Geez, don’t ever do that again! What was up with you? Trying to be late for work on the first day of a new shift?
Standing to his feet, Avi remembered the woman, the scream, and the flash of light. He remembered the voices, the irritating overflow of voices. In shock, Avi jumped to his feet, water splashing against the walls. Viewers laughed, and returned to their seats, their reactions similar to Sarah’s. Laughing himself, Avi shook his head like a wet dog, even more water flying throughout the air.
No…but really…
Shrugging, Avi disappeared through a back door for only a second, only to return with a lower apron tied around his waist. As he ran his hands through his stunningly blue hair, Avi cocked his head to the side.
“Honestly…I don’t know. I met this girl, and then I remember seeing this weird light, ya’know? Haha, I must have been seeing things though. But then after that, everything started to get almost amplified, and voices were all…Hahaha, nevermind. I need a drink.” As Avignian laughed carelessly, his face eased, honestly believe he was only imagining things. As he glanced towards Sarah to thank her however, his glee level dropped, reading Sarah’s expression as a mixture of anger and worry. Biting his lip, he apologized, glancing downwards as he picked up the glass she had slammed down in front three men and a woman?
Avi stared at…it. He paused, and decided, definitely woman.
“Sorry if I disturbed your morning here, ladies and gentleman. Anything to drink, eat?”
