Ruko is a male dragon who has a strange affiliation to the earth. He likes grass, trees, rocks, and even mud. he doesn't make friends easily, and doesn't mind his lack of wings- being in the air unnerves him slightly, since he is so used to the ground. Still, he wouldn't mind seeing the earth from above someday.
he is a vegitarian most of the time, although he eats carrion.
He was raised by an old druid who had fought for a long time to keeo his forest home pristine and unsullied by human invasion. Fought and was, gradually, failing. The old man hoped that Ruko would save the forest, and trained him in forest lore and, with his dying breath, sent ruko out on a quest to find a fae to bond with and return with to save the forest from loggers.

The old druid lay dying in his grove, old and gnarled like the trees he loved. He would return to the earth soon, and the roots of his grove would take him up. And he would live in their hearts forever. But it was his young apprentice that kept him breathing, for the young dragon had one more lesson to learn; the mission he had been groomed for since the old man had found the earthy egg and raised it as his own child. He had not taught his apprentice about death. It was time to do so. Ruko stood, staring at the human who had been mother and father to him, laying on the ground seemingly withered and small. “Come.” commanded the druid, wheezing as he grasped on to life. “I am dying.” the shock in Rukos eyes sent daggers of pity through the old man's heart. “You must protect the forest in my stead.” Short. To the point. He had little time left. “You cannot do it alone.” Too true. The dragon would become strong with time, but... now was the time to act, before the loggers had gotten a foothold. They were like termites: once they were there, they would destroy everything. The dragon had to become stronger now. “Go to the Forests beyond here. There are things there. The Fae. Bind yourself to them. They will...” he gasped. His time was soon. “Take what strength you can... and bring peace to my forest...” he weakened. “go...” Ruko watched as his mentor died. There was no question. It was time to go. It was time to find a fae. It was time... to be bound.
