This is probably going to sound like a very noobish question, but what's the best way to go about getting your work copyrighted?
First off, sorry for replying so late, my computer fried. As for your question, that's pretty much why this guild is here. Don't worry, it's not a noobish question at all since many writers on Gaia have asked me the same thing, hence the guild. It really depends on what you are getting into and how you want to go about it. If you are just starting out and not concerned about money but rather the critic of your work, simply posting a work on a website will technically work, since virtually anything posred on the internet is copyrighted. It's an easy way to copyright something, but there are complications even here. If you have a work that you've written, edited, submitted to peer review, and edited again, then perhaps you should think about finding a publisher for your work. Copyrights are a messy business, and I suggest coming back to this guild to check on the info about laws and publishing in general that will be posted.
