Introduction: History of Sunny Days Mental Institution

Sunny Days Mental Institution was established in 1892, with only one building and 10 rooms. It started as a rehabilitation center for drug addicts, alchoholics, and recent prison releases, but in 1958, it recieved a huge increase in the budget and added onto the original building. That same year, the name was changed to what it is now, and it began hiring highly qualified psychiatrists and other staff members to meet the needs of patients.

The rooms are all furnished with two cots, a desk, and a dresser. Rooms accomodate two patients at a time, and are routinely checked to prevent any life-threating situations. Full bathrooms are located in every patient housing building, including community showers, toilets, and sinks.

There are three levels of security: low, medium, and high risk. Patients normally start at medium level upon entry, then work their way down to low level with good behaviour and positive attitudes. Patients with a history of violence or that are a danger to others start at high risk level. Like the others, they have to work their way down. The lower the patient's risk, the more priviledges they earn and the more slack they are given. If a patient displays harmful behaviour, they are automatically moved up to high risk.

The low and medium risk level buildings have paintings on the walls done by former patients and hold sports and recreational activities every week. The medium risk patients are watched more carefully at these events, and are only allowed 2 hours each activity.
Every day, patients are to go to some sort of activity class, from yoga to art appreciation. There is a wide spectrum of activities to enable everyone to have a good time.
There is a rec room in these buildings as well, containing a pool table, a television, and a radio for patients who just want to hang out and relax.

The high risk level building has bars in front of the doors of every room for the safety of the staff and other patients. The doors are opened for breakfast, lunch, dinner, counciling, and classes if the patient is still in school.

Every day, patients are to report to counciling, either group or single, depending on their needs.
Classes are offered from grades 5-12, with english, math, science, social studies, and many arts classes to choose from based on the patient's pervious grades and their intelligence level as well as their talents.
These are located on the art hall, which is across from the cafeteria and main entrance.

The cafeteria serves nutritionally healthy meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It has roughly 20 or so tables, and all silverware is plastic for safety reasons.
In the same building is the main entrance, where the reception desk is located to sign patients in and out, and also has a visitation room. There are 7 chairs in the indoors visitation room, and patients are allowed an hour with a visitor. Visitors must send in applications and be approved before they are allowed to visit.
Outdoor visitation is an option for low risk level patients on a day with good weather.

Lights out is at 10 PM sharp for all patients, and they must be in their rooms by this time. Nurses check to make sure this has happened every day, and bring medication to those who need it.

At Sunny Day Mental Institution, we work hard to make your loved ones feel at home, and we hope you choose us to take care of them.

Ze_Mole
Name: Cynthia Lockharte
Age: 19
Mental Illness: Obsessive compulsive disorder
Risk level: Medium level
Appearance: Cynthia has naturally red hair halfway down her back that she always wears down. She has bright green eyes which she enhances with green eyeshadow and black mascara on her extra-long eyelashes. She is 5'5", about 130 pounds, and is very fond of black clothes.
Likes: Rock music, dreamless sleep, roses, long hair, romantic gestures, horror movies, and thunderstorms, complete with rain and lightning.
Dislikes: People that make fun of her, having her flaws pointed out, stress, her parents, country music, dogs, and spiders.
Anything else: She was put in Sunny Days because her parents were tired of her disorder and her in general. She hates them for it, and would tell them that if they'd visit her. But they never come to see her, and she doubts they'll ever take her out of Sunny Days.

Xymnal_Yumilton
Name: Tommy Rin
Age: 10
Mental Illness: Reactionary attachment disorder, multiple personality disorder
What you think your risk level should be: Medium level with extra supervision.
Appearance: A young child with many baby-ish qualities. A baby face with big cheeks that many people love to pinch, although he hates it whenever it happens. He's only about four foot two and about eighty pounds. He's not really that big, but whenever he goes into his other personality, his attitude becomes, if it's okay to use a cliche, like a bull in a china shop. He has traditional blonde hair and blue eyes and besides from that, is rather dull.
Likes: Ice cream, chocolate, the usual ten-year-old likes.
Dislikes: Spinach and the usual ten-year-old dislikes.
Anything else: Usually this kid attaches himself very quickly to everyone after being left on the steps of the Sunny Days Inn. However, randomly he'll go into different personalities, which are pretty much the embodiments of certain feelings. Usually he is very happy and attached to everyone. . . But sometimes he can lose it and be one of the strongest ten-year-olds you will ever have the displeasure to meet.

Staff

I need people as councilors, nurses, and maybe a teacher, if there are patients under 18. So, send me a profile through PMs including these things:

Age:
Position to fill:
Appearance:

Anything else:

Ze_Mole
Name: Terrance Diarmen
Age: 39
Position to fill: Psychiatrist
Appearance: He started going bald on the top when he was a junior in college, but the remaining hair he has is a light brown. He always wears suits, even though he doubts his patients would care; looking professional is always important, in his opinion. He is about 6'2", so he sits in his chair most of the time to keep from intimidating some of his more timid patients.
Likes: His wife Anna, his two year old daughter Kaline, spring, classic rock, and vacations.
Dislikes: His job, his boss, his life, and animals.
Anything else: Terrance has been at Sunny Days for six years, and for the past four, has hated every minute. He only stays because his wife insists they need the money it brings in. He pays attention and tries to rehabilitate the patients who come to him, but deep down, he really doesn't give a s**t.

Rules

Basically the same rules as the ones on the front page i.e. no over-PG-13 material.

Oh, and this is a literate roleplay, so use your best spelling and grammar. If you're unsure, Microsoft Word has spell check and a grammar check. Pretend you're writing a paper for english or something. Just act like you're [insert your age here] and spell like it, please. sweatdrop

Cynthia flushed the toilet, turned around, flushed it again, then washed her hands, taking a few minutes to do so. She then went out to join back up with her nurse escourt. She hated that they felt the need to escourt her to the bathroom for the first few weeks she was there; she was OCD, not suicidal. She followed the nurse, who led her to the rec room where she could be with others. The nurse looked at her, then said softly, "Have you made any new friends, Cynthia?" She shot her a venomous glare; did this woman think she was 5? She chose not to answer, and instead walked silently with the nurse who now wore a frown. She hated being treated like a child just because of her "problem" as her parents said.

Come on, Tommy, let's go watch T.V..

Ooh, yay! T.V.! Can we watch Pokémon, can we?! Can we?! With that question, Tommy jumped on top of the nurse that came to pick him up from his room, leaving the toys that were keeping him preoccupied right where they were.

I don't know, we're going to have to see what's playing right now. I don't think Pokémon's on, though.

Bummer! He said, pouting as he snuggled in between the nurse's breasts. He felt comfortable there, in between her breasts. He threw a tantrum when they tried to change his nurse to one who was completely flat-chested. . . He could never get snuggled in just right.

Go and pick up your toys, we need to keep our room clean, now don't we?

No, we don't. He replied, smiling broadly.

Yes, we do.

No. . . We DON'T. His voice was getting harder and surprisingly deeper, his eyes' temperature was falling through the floor and his hands started balling into fists. . . He was getting angry.

Fine, fine, leave them out. The nurse had learned quickly not to push it when the young'un started getting like that. . . When he had picked her up over his head and threw her halfway across the room. She had always wondered how the ten-year-old managed the strength to do that.

Good, that's how I was gonna leave 'em. He said as he squirmed to get out of her arms. She let him down before he grabbed her hand, pulling her out of his room. Let's go! I wanna watch Pokémon!

The nurse sighed, letting herself get pulled around by the ten-year-old she's been personally assign to watch over. They got to the T.V. room and he went straight to the T.V., grabbed the remote, and changed it to the Pokémon channel.

Bulbasaur, I choose you! The T.V. squawked as he sat right in front of the T.V. and started to stare at the episode of the show that he wanted to watch.

The nurse sighed and went to take her hour break, shaking her head. Hopefully she would be able to get a transfer soon.
