"Fooooor...a...lizard. For me," Crow said, trying to lie and as usual not doing that good a job. "He's really cute," she added. "S'got spines and poisonous spit just like komodo dragons."
She paused.
"And his name's Bartleby," she said, with a grin that would have been far more innocent if there hadn't been fangs there.

"There's not a single poisonous lizard in Mei-Vaar," Björn said, drawing money from his pocket and holding it up out of Crow's reach.

Crow sagged slightly.
"Oh. Um. Looks like that pet store guy lied then. And...it's...a bird. For me. Big, pretty bird with...red feathers," she said, wondering if she'd be able to jump for the money and knowing full well she'd never manage that without the aid of a trampoline.

Crow thought for a second.
"Two hundred?" she said, just spitting out a random number. Gods, but did Hellis owe her something for this. Like a candy bar....yeah, that'd do good, actually. She'd totally call him out on it next time he had candy.

Björn's eyes widened and he sighed, lowering the coins to Crow's height.

"Can do!" Crow chirped with a playful salute, dashing back into the store with the money. "Hellis, Hellis, Hellis, lookit I got money!"

Hellis blinked at her and smiled, holding the now-leashed puppy and a shopping basket up to the cashier, nudging Crow with an elbow. Again, he wasn't about to speak to strangers.
