So many possibilities, and so little time to act them out...
It wasn't often Daemyn was allowed to wander the city streets. In fact, he was never allowed to do more than play in the woodsy back yard at home and study inside. He was the eldest child, and examples needed to be set in proper behavior, or at least so his mother believed. Sibuna was also a terribly worrisome woman and feared possible bad impressions or bodily harm if she were allow him to be alone. Not often did she allow him out of her sight or easy reach. It was partly her fault now that he had collected some money from her dresser when she decided to leave him home alone for one evening, assuming that he was asleep. Creating ruses for his mother to fall into were all part of the boy's second nature now.
He had used some of that money to take a bus to the city, quite alone but far from defenseless. Still, the woman would have likely had a stroke if she had known. It was really more enjoyable this way, though, with his hand not being grasped tightly by another, and his ear free of lecturing. A trip to the city had been a needed expedition for the young, bored deity.
Even if he now found himself lost in the midsts of the concrete jungle, he was not afraid. It was merely a challenge; something new to learn from and adapt to. Absently as he wandered along, he wondered what his surrogate mother was really afraid of here. Perhaps it was the evenly-paved roads, or perhaps it was the women that wore tight clothing and sauntered like predators on the street corners. Maybe it was even fashion itself. Sibuna had always said the new things were simply a way of distracting you away from the god of this world, but right about now Daemyn was done relating things to what his guardian had said. What he saw now was opportunity- the possibility that he could spend an evening amusing himself with something that didn't involve bloodying his knuckles against one of the trees out back. And even bleeding was beginning to become a hassle to accomplish.
The boy had grown some, a preteen now by the looks of him. Thumbs hooked into the belt loops of his pants, he strode with an easy sort of grace down the mildly crowded sidewalk, fluidly weaving his way through. He wasn't sure where he was going, simply figuring that he would stop when something caught his eye.

It used to be that Varian could travel freely - albeit he'd have to deal with being scolded later, but that never stopped him. Recently, however, he had come into the care of someone else. And while that person allowed him to wander freely, it hadn't taken him long to realize that there was always someone following him when he did.
So, needless to say, he had begun attempting to sneak away without being followed. It failed, most of the time.
It was somehow fitting that the first time he managed to succeed at slipping away without being followed, he found himself lost.
Varian remained where he was, attempting to get his bearings: the crowd was beginning to thin as the night grew closer, and it began to get darker. It didn't seem to help the heat much, unfortunately...he was even wearing a sleeveless yukata top in concession to the heat, as well as his hair being pulled back in a pony tail.
Twisting his lips into a scowl, he crossed his arms and glared at the people around him. Of course he had to discover he was in an area of town he'd never been before. And of course, there were no shops around where he could attempt to discover the location of someplace he did know (although they'd never catch him saying he was lost.)
Well...there were a few shops. But they would also never catch him going into such low class places.
So, the fae was feeling unusually uncertain; he didn't have the slightest idea what to do. Varian wasn't exactly scared, however - simply irritated.
Varian had grown as well, although his looks hadn't changed very much; his ear was still mangled, his build the same...he had lost a bit of the 'baby fat', but he appeared much as he always had.
