"A good decision," nodded Sva-la serenely. It was impossible to judge if she was frustrated with him or not. Best assume not. Char Langui murmured something that sounded like 'kids these days.'
"The temple halls can be confusing," she added, smiling in that comforting way of hers. "There is a droid waiting to guide you to your dormitory so you don't get lost on your own."
"The droid will probably get you lost," grumbled Char Langui.
"You'll find that your personal items have already been moved to your dormitory," continued Sva-La. "There is also a uniform waiting for you, which you will be expected to wear whenever you are outside of your room. "
She nodded. "The droid is waiting. May the force be with you, Zain."

The room felt imposing - not in decor, but in the weight of expectations and history. Nylla'a felt that weight on her as she looked around, her quick green eyes on the look out for anything small and pocketable as was her habit when she was nervous. If in doubt, steal.
Her ears twitched; flicking as she listened for the sound of anyone coming, and she padded on quiet, booted feet around the room. Her tail tip flicked as well; not that it was still often, an ever present movement and a great reflection of her moods. She only had a slight inkling of why she was here, something about potential. But being a Jedi or Sith had never been something she had figured for her future. Her family background was such that she'd expected to either live as a thief, or run cons. Her father had wanted more for her - he was honest, and tried to make his way in an honest fashion...which meant he was the black sheep of the family.
So when her mother had died in an alley over a gambling debt he'd seen his chance and sent her away. So here she was; wrinkled and tired from her journey and not a small bit nervous.

A rich, female voice rang out from the far end of the chamber. "You have permission to approach, Nylla'a," it said. The voice's source was a tall togruta woman in warmly colored robes. Beside her was a short human man, who looked not quite as ancient as the legendary Yoda. His robes were of cooler colors, but no less regal. It was he who spoke next.
"Some students come here already knowing which path they plan to follow," he informed her. "Others require some guidance. Should you not feel certain of your choice, we will explain the orders, their benefits and drawbacks, to you, and then you will be required to chose."
The togruta nodded. "I am Master Svarsika-la-toa, of the Jedi order," she explained.
The human cleared his throat. "I am Master Char-Langui, of the Sith order," he said. "Do you know your path, or do you desire clarification?"

Nylla'a visibly jumped when the voice called out, swivelling on booted feet to see where it had come from. The fur on the back of her neck had risen, and when she stood in front of them she felt very, very nervous..though not quite so nervous that she didn't cast a quick thieves eye over them, wondering if they had any valuables on them. Maybe the woman..
'Uhh, hello..Masters?' she added quickly, remembering that she was meant to use the manners her father had taught her whilst she was here.
'Path? Well, y'know, never thought I'd even be here.'
She was a thief, huckster..Jedi? Couldn't wrap her head around that one.

Master Sva-la folded her hands serenely in front of her. Everything about the Jedi master was calming and sophisticated, which some students found soothing and some just found grating. "The Jedi and the Sith are equal and opposite orders," she explained. "While their goals are the same, their methods and philosophies differ greatly."
"It is not," she continued, "strictly a matter of dark and light, good and bad. The Jedi seek to quell their emotions and grasp the force with a calm and steady mind. They are mediators and negotiators. A Jedi is accepting of others and works well within a group. They provide stability, order, and structure to the Galaxy."
Master Char-Langui coughed. She inclined her head towards him. The diminutive Sith clicked his walking stick against the ground. "The Sith are not afraid of the powers of their emotions," he declared. "They seek to harness their feelings and channel them towards a greater personal strength. They are passionate and athletic, protectors and warriors. A Sith is self-reliant."
"The path of the Jedi is that of the warrior-diplomat, and the peacekeeper," added master Sva-la.
Char-Langui tutted. "The path of the Sith is that of the diplomat-warrior and the freedom fighter."
It was impossible to tell if their banter was just an act for new students, or if they indeed had some degree of animosity.
"Any further questions?" asked Char-Langui.
