Oh joy he had an opinion and a decision to make, wasn't that lovely...though the answer of 'home' screamed at him....he supposed a few more minutes out here wouldn't hurt the boy. He wanted to ride and it was something that he didn't get to do often. So then, he mounted up behind the boy once more, again trying to control her nerves. Though his attention went to Zahara again at her little nickname for him. He never heard it often from her, even less these days and she was the only one to ever use it. He used to know how she felt when she called him that...she was either in a wonderfully good mood or needed some comfort. Thus he ruffled the child's hair as he turned his eyes away from her, afraid perhaps of what they may be broadcasting. "A bit more time won't hurt...but not too much. Then we can head back home...besides, I'm sure your stomach will be interjecting for dinner soon enough."

She'd used it for a variety of reasons. Mostly because she had missed him adn hadn't said it in such a long time. It sort of rolled off the tongue when she was happy like that which also hadn't happened in a long time. And then there was that tiny part of her that wished he would have responded in kind and used hers. She missed hearing that nickname even when he said it with biting sarcasm or just to piss her off. She'd never admit she was lonely and so she was thrilled when Sevilin chose to continue the afternoon. She'd been sitting there praying he would. "Alright, let's go." Clicking her tongue at Faete she let him take a few cantering steps forward and then reined him in before he took his head. "Ready for a gallop?"
"YES!"

Arthur took a few more gulps of his ale then whipped off the remaining stuff off his face with a light smile before setting the mug on the table before an eyebrow popped up. "Oh really? Well this is interesting news Gavin, really interesting...is this fellow the man she was talking about? Well I hope the man can make a move or something cause she needs some good love that's for sure." Though a light chuckle at that, Gavin loved his daughter of course but he wasn't putting that down. "Hey if it wasn't for me giving you a nudge you still be sputtering and stammering everytime you see her and don't you forget it!" He said with another chuckle before tipping back his mug and draining most of it down before sighing lightly. "Oh it's so good to see you guys...the forge hasn't changed much...but it still looks good Gavin, you did a good thing by keeping the family business." though he paused lightly before leaning forwards in his seat. "What kind of weapons is guy asking for anyway? even though he maybe eyeing Melody he should know what the heck he's asking for, I don't want you wasting your time on meaningless tasks ya know."

No. But Sevilin kept that one the inside and merely looped the reins in his hands a little, making sure Zykariel was safe between his arms, and then dug his boots into the stirrups a little bit more. Oh gods in everyplane help him. Okay, yes he was being a baby about this and he'd admit it. Or at least Zahara would see it. Sevilin squinted a little trying not to close his eyes all the way...really didn't have a desire to see the landscape go by that fast. "Sure."

"Well good...because if I was, I would have to be forced to hurt you. Probably with something hard and blunt, maybe a big heavy book. Or my bow." A little shrug from her...seemed they were getting better with this compromise thing weren't they? It was a good thing indeed. "Though I do hope you know that I haven't completly forgiven you for blatantly underminding me." Giving him one of those looks that said she was going to not so seriously hold it against him but she had to prove a point damn it. "You're going to have to work for that."

Zahara grined happily andnodded. "Alrigh then guys, let's go!" She gave Faete his head and shot off, the stallion that Zykariel had chosen quick to keep pace. Of course she had to rein Faete in a little bit because after all, the younger stallion couldn't quite keep up when Faete was given carte blanche to run. She felt the equivalent of a breeze racing through her hair and threw her head back and laughed. "Having fun yet?" she called out exhilirated.
Zykariel had at first held on for dear life but now that the horse had begun to actually gallop and he could feel the breeze too he giggled happily and yelled out in response. "YES!" Galloping was fun!
"I would not be stutterin' and stammerin' over my Missy. Hell boy by the time you said anything I'd already taught her lovemakin'." He tapped his fingers on the table idly and took another swig of ale before shrugging. "Don't make no never mind to me what he orders, long as he has the steel to be payin' for it. I'll gladly make whatever he wants." Gavin was a businessman at heart and since he loved to make blades, it didn't bother him at all. "Good lovin'? Is that what ye be thinkin' she's a needin'? Well then boy, why don't ye be takin' care of it yerself?"

No no he was not fine. He had an aversion to horses for a reason. He lived in Andal after all, and it had nightmares there, and the drow used them. And he had sisters who thought it was fun to get horses to trample, bite, kick, and then drag him tied by his wrists. So he had learned to hate horses at a young age. Nope, not having fun.
In fact he was quite nausous and light headed from anxiety, however he was staying in the saddle...probably only because he had himself wrenched down so well in it so as not to fall off. It was funny for a man to be breathing so hard when he wasn't the one exerting himself. But it was for the child, remember that...for the child. He could do this...not enjoy it but at least lie well and said he did.

Much to Faete's dismay, Zahara reined in the galloping horses shortly after she'd given them the free will to run. They had gone a decent distance and she didn't want to overtire either horse or rider. Zykariel hadn't ridden very much after all, only once or twice before and those only short rides. This was the longest he'd ever been out. "Come on Kariel. Time to go back."
"But I don't wanna go back yet!" He held onto the horse and started to rock and kick to try to get it to go again. The horse got agitated and started sidestepping then let out a whinny and reared up batting his hooves in the air, the whites of his eyes showing agitatedly.
Zahara shook her head. "Zykariel! Stop it!" She snapped at him whirling Faete and leaping off of him to grab onto the stallion's reins. "Never ever ever kick a horse because you are upset! Never! Do you understand me?"

Oh look, it got worse! Of course it would get worse now wouldn't it...rearing horse...okay he could handle a rearing horse, just had to keep hold the the reins. And wait...where are the reins? Zahara wonderful woman that she was in her attempt to help had in fact yanked the reins from Sevilin's hands...well...there went his leverage. It wasn't easy sharing a saddle with someone, even a child...so then gravity took it's course on Sevilin and he duely slid off the horse involuntarily, though he still had one foot caught up in a stirrup while the rest of him was one the ground.
Fell off the horse...yeah just great. Of course by the time he looked back, Zykariel was okay, if not upset. After all, Zahara could calm those horses in two seconds flat...pity she didn't leave the reins alone. But he didn't get up just yet...no he was pretty content to lay there on the ground a moment on his back, taking a breath or two, about five seconds from having an anxiety attack...and one foot still caught and probably twisted at a slightly funny angle, though nothing really wrong with it. Of course with Zahara yelling...he knew he would have to deal with something else. But...breathing first.

Arthur popped and eyebrow and looked at Gavin with a weird look on his face. "Oh you bum! I can't believe you lied to me then! You said you had trouble getting her and I was trying to think of way a for you to take that final step! And yet there you were already sleeping in the same bed with her!" He shook his head lightly before drinking from his mug again and sighed a little. "She was a beau alright...Melody takes so much after her mother..." A small chuckle to that as he shook his head lightly before he stared at his mug then back to Gavin and raised his hands in defense. "Alright then if that's the way you'll be going at it then fine be like that Gavin, I know you got a business to run so I'll keep my mouth from saying anything bout it then." Well Gavin did have a taste in what to do when running a business like this one, after all his father owned the place before hand and the big man who sat across from Arthur learned all that he can from his father before he passed away. Though now Arthur was drinking from his mug when Gavin made his comment about Mel and again somehow he swallowed his drink down the wrong pipe, with a few coughs and his fist pounding his chest he was alright in no time; but he looked at Gavin with another weird look on his face. "What are you saying? You want me to be with your daughter? Like...that?" A small blush formed on his face and he looked away slightly. "She's like a sister to me you know...I watched her grow up just like I watched you grow into the man you are today, it just be weird besides if we were to get together I just be watching her slip through my hands...you know what I mean don't you?" He asked the man as he looked at him with a small sad look. "Besides Melody told me that's she's interested in someone already...either Elwin or this man that has been coming around so there's no reason for m to screw around with her head."

The stallion was easily calmed once she tempered her voice and murmured to him soothingly. She pet at the bridge of his nose lightly and then glanced up to make sure the riders were alright. Zykariel had his hands plunged into the horses mane and Sevilin was- wait, where was Sevilin? "Sevilin? What in the name of all that is holy on this plane..." She glanced down and shook her head at the sight of him on the ground. At first she thought he'd been thrown when the horse reared, then she glanced at the reins in her hand and realized just what had happened. Dropping the reins lightly to the ground, she spoke a command to the now calm horse and crossed in front of him. Crouching down she gently untangled his foot from the stirrup and peered over him. "Need a hand?" Thus she reached down and pressed her palms beneath his shoulders to assist him in getting up. "That was a close call."
Zykariel didn't have to be told twice what he had done wrong. He was repentant, sitting very still on the horse, his death grip on the mane released. Daddy had fallen. Was Daddy okay? He glanced down and almost lost his balance so he straightened up really quickly. "You okay Daddy?"
Gavin shrugged. "Missy didn't want anyone to know we was together that way. Reputation or somethin' like that." The big man leaned back in his chair and lifted his fingers to his face to tangle in the red beard as if he was deep in thought. "Doona be thinkin' I doona want yer advice me lad. I doona disregard such words so easily. Ye've been around a mite, seen a bit more than me." And still the lad be blind to what's right in front of his face, he thought. Trying valiantly to keep his face from betraying him he coughed himself and cleared his throat. "Well now, Missy was close to me growin' up that doona have nothin' to do with it, Arthur and ye well know it. The love of a friend or sister can easily become somethin' else. But I'm a stayin' out of it. If you want me lass, you woo and win her yerself. If ye doona, then doona." Finishing off his ale he slapped the table with a snort. "That lass is no more enamored with Elwin or Glindon than I am with that old Mrs. whoever. Crotchety ol' widow she be."

Arthur blushed again and looked away slightly, Gavin had a point there even if you were friends with someone for so long love can come around and bring you and your close friend together, he knew Gavin's wife as much as the old man did until she died and he respected her a lot for the way she was, strong, independent, caring, smart, and Melody took after her in every way. "Oh man..." He muttered and sighed drinking the rest of his ale before placing his head in his hands, Gavin did want him to get close to his daughter but even though Arthur looked like he was in his twenties he was over a hundred years old, and if he dare get very close to Melody there were a few bad things to go along with the good! But still Gavin said she would alone because she doesn't care for anyone else! "I don't want her to be alone Gavin...but still if she were to be with me..." Another sigh as he thought it over, this was just perfect really. "I need some fresh air..." And so the elf got up and quietly left the forge, it felt stuffy inside and he needed sometime alone.

"Mommy! Daddy! Mommydaddymommydaddy!" Speak of the devil eh? There was a good reason he wasn't in bed, and as he came running into thier room, shoving the door open with his shoulder, the reason was easily seen in his hand. Little Malikhai was holding an even littler draithix in his hands. And it was apparently freshly hatched seeing as it still had egg chips on it and was still slimy to an extent. "Look it! Look!"
"Good, then I don't have to say it twice." Though she did give that, 'wait it's scary quiet' look when he mentioned thier son...but that quiet didn't last very long as the child was apparently screaming at the top of his lungs for them. "You're good at that..." Though her attention turned to the child to came to stand before them and hold up the slimy furry and scaley creature for them to look at. "And apparently that is why he's been quiet. Did you pull it out of it's shell or did it come out on it's own?" Had to ask these things.
"Iwasdoingitsbeddingbuttherewasacrackandthenitmov-" Duely hushed as Piper and bent over and put a finger to his mouth.
"Spaces bewteen your words, us grown ups can't keep up."
He took a break, again holding the draithix pup up high for them to get a better look at. "I was doing its bedding but there was a crack and then it moved. So I sat down to watch it and it broke its egg from the inside and now it's out!"
Yeah...wasn't this fun? He was musing to himself in his head when he felt his boot untangled and gravity yanked that too the ground and then his eyes looked up to Zahara's as she made an attempt to help him up. Didn't take him too much effort to get himself back up once his anxiety levels had dropped a little. "That was eventful..." Looking over to Zykariel and ruffling his hair. "I'm fine...let's just not spook the horses anymore, okay?"
