*Mystina waved to Janani* Bye!
*Mystina faded out of the brink after waving at Janani*

**Enter Dafyd and Maggie from Guest Rooms, 73**
*Dafyd absorbs everything in silence, noting the layout and curious nature of this place. He feels compelled to ask, but restrains himself. There will be time, and much can be learned merely by listening*

Is there anything ye'd like, especially? *Maggie asks as she moves toward the bar*

Wine, or gooseberry ale... or Devil Himself, even that foul honey water the Danes swill. If it's wet, it'll serve. I just need to take the edge off my thirst.
*he doesn't admit it, but he hopes to take the edge off the pain also. Moving from the little bedchamber to this feast hall was more strain on his body than he wishes anyone to know. He slips into a chair at one of the oak tables casually, so as not to give away his weakness*

*Maggie searches around and quickly turns up a bottle of wine. She pours some into a mug for him and carries it back over to where he's sitting* Here ye are then, sir.

Thank you... *he takes a long satisfied drink, and then he looks at her, quizzically*
I do not even know your name, and yet... if I am to believe my memory, you played a strong hand in treating me when I was ill. I am a poor guest to be so rude to my benefactor...

Oh nay, fergive me, I ought te have introduced myself. *She reddens slightly at her lapse in manners and bobs a quick curtsy* My name is Margaret Dowling. Near everyone here just calls me Maggie, though.

Margaret... *Dafyd rolls the name smoothly across his tongue. He chases it with a sip of wine.*
... Greek, is it not? Like the Saint of Antioch?

Ehm . . *Maggie looks a bit embarassed by her ignorance* I fear I amna certain, sir. *She smiles self-consciously* I always supposed it just te be English.

I see... *Dafyd's face darkens a moment. Anglish then. Not ideal, but at least, he now knew. Quickly he smiles and squeezes her hand*
... It's a lovely name in any language, and it adorns a lovely girl. Just as God intended.

*Maggie's face reddens all over again* Ehm, well, 'tis very kind of ye te say so. *She clears her throat awkwardly and shifts the conversation back to introductions*
Might I ask yer name as well, sir?

*He finishes his wine and sets the empty cup on the table, considering*
Syr Dafyd y Rheged.
*He waits to see how the Angle woman will react*

*Maggie nods, smiling once more* Pleased te know ye then, Sir David.
*She notes the empty cup and offers* Would ye care for more? Perhaps something te eat as well? Ye'll be wanting yer strength back for when ye return home.

*Inwardly, Dafyd sighs in relief. This woman is not an enemy of Rheged or the Dragon, or seemingly, anyone else. And yet, she implied she was Anglish, and the Angles had little love for Urien and less for the Dragon.
*He wonders, not for the first time, whether this is a sort of cloister... and yet... a poor cloister that did not tell her the origins of her name. He rubs his chin and becomes aware of the stubble growing there.*
*aloud, he says* I would dearly love another glass. As to food, whatever you can spare would be humbly appreciated.

I'll see what I can find for ye. *Taking the empty mug, Maggie heads back to the bar to refill it. After a bit more rummaging, she returns with that and one of those little sandwich trays the Brink is so fond of conjuring up* Here now. *She sets both down in front of him* 'Tisna much, but 'tis something at least.
