Aw she was blushing, but then again she always did when ever he made a comment about her looks and whatnot, he was always the charmer really and he would never stop trying to impress a woman. So he watched quietly as she got up, dusting herself off before she held out her hand towards him which he took and before he knew it he was back on his feet. "Well I'm glad you are keeping the old man in check, wouldn't want him to get hurt or anything...he's really good at what he does. Though you miss me eh? I never would of thought that I played that much of an importance in your life Mel." He said as he brushed himself off before looking at her again. "I just decided to hold my promise to come visit you guys...I may at least stay longer than last time so don't you worry your pretty red head about it." He said as he reached over and ruffled her hair, she was always fussy when he did that but he liked to. "So how are you guys doing? Job holding up well? Got any good clients or anything?" Well Gavin was well known in Honorsfeild so he got some good people drop buy asking for stuff, and Arthur like to know who just incase he actually heard about the person before, elves are curious after all.

"Don't worry. Obligation is the furthest thing from my mind." She shrugged when he refused the sandwich and she dropped it back into the basket then picked up a bunch of grapes, more grazing than actually eating. Popping a few in her mouth she chewed thoughtfully and listened to him then smiled softly. "Yes but you seem to be doing a good job. He's getting his baths, his reverie and he's eating and i'ts not all just cookies or chicken nuggets. He needs more variety than that." She glanced down at her lap and tried to keep the moment from turning awkward in her mind. It was so hard to talk to Sevilin these days. Everything concerned Zykariel which brought out all the other problems they were constantly dealing with too. She just couldn't escape from it. "He and I usually have a lot of fun together. If he has no objections I'd like to watch him when you need to work though I will understand if you don't want me to unless you really need me. I don't want to confuse the child."
She grinned, "Yeah though Daddy doesn't like it too much. Tells me to keep my pretty little head out of his business." She sent him a dazzling smile and playfully punched his shoulder. "Of course I miss you Arthur, we grew up together. Who else do I have to roll around with and get all sweaty?" She strolled over to one of the boxes and picked up a list considering it. "Ranulf ordered a new blade for his son and Willin decided he wanted to restore his father's blade, oh and some new guy came in and ordered armor, swords, and shoes for his horse. He's probably our best customer right now. Daddy's thrilled."

He propped his elbows on his knees, letting his hands clasp to each other as he leaned forward and let his chin rest on his hands. This was just fabulous wasn't it? "I wouldn't call it that." He looked at it as surviving. The boy still wasn't fully happy as Sevilin could make him thus he didn't think he was doing too good a job.
With a sigh he leaned back on the grouch, resting his arms behind his head with a sigh, staring up at the cavernous ceiling that was the underdark's sky. "Well...I don't want to take up all of your newfound freedom either...you can watch him if you want to...if he gets too much for you, just tell me and I'll find someone else."

"That's Gavin for you...always wants to keep to himself, working, drinking and eating are all he does and then everything else in between he wants to be kept in private." Oh that's Gavin in a nutshell, ever since he was a young lad but now the man is old and Arthur and him are still best friends, always will be too. Though be blushed lightly when she mentioned the good old days he spent with her, she was more of a tom boy back then, kept her hair short and her body dirty like the rest of the boys; though still a lot of young men were interested in her back then and probably they still do now. "Oh good times..." He said and chuckled, but now a days he did a different thing and kept him rolling around and all sweaty but that was his own business right? Anyways he wandered over beside Melody and grinned as he heard the list. "Well then that sounds like Gavin is going to have a fun time...glad to hear he's getting some work he got the hands for the job it's about time they get put to use again." A small chuckle at that before he stared at Melody with a puzzled look. "Hey Mel I'm sorry for prying but don't you think you should be seeing someone right now? You're young, and you look so beautiful..." He reached over and turned her head towards him. "I bet you could get any man in this place." He said with a light grin.

She shook her head, he just would never admit that he was a perfect father now would he? It didn't matter the evidence set out before him, he would still deny his obvious ability to fulfill the role Zykariel needed. But she wasn't going to argue with him, it was pointless to do so. "You might not but I will." She watched him relax again and once again wondered what it might be like if they were different, maybe even in love right now. She scoffed at the direction her thoughts had taken and chalked it up to not being around him in a while. She had just missed him and now her midn was going all fanciful on him. "I wouldn't worry about it. I have plenty of time to do what I need to do. Rest assured he's not a burden."
Zykariel chose that moment to come back into the clearing cradling his hand. "Daddy!" He sniffled and shook his hand. "It bit me! And it huuuurts." He flopped down on his father and waved his hand in his face. "Make it stop!"
Melody nodded in agreement and dropped the list back on her father's makeshift box. He would be needing that later and no doubt searching everywhere to find it. Silly man, he never knew where his crap was stored. Her attention was drawn to Arthur once again as he complimented her and she felt two pink spots stain her cheeks. "Everyone but the one I want." she muttered under her breath. Shrugging daintily she tucked a curl behind her ear. "Elwin has invited me out a few times adn I hear that this new gentleman in town is attractive and quite rich. Maybe something will happen with him, though I'm not really looking for a man right now. I have found the one I want Arthur, now I just have to figure out how to snag him."

Thus they lapsed into that awkward quiet. It was indeed odd. He never saw her anymore and once he did this was how it was. He didn't see her as a student anymore, he didn't see her as the mother of his child anymore, he didn't even get to see her as dare he say a friend anymore. Would he say he felt isolated? Perhaps a bit...after all he seemed more like a big kid than an adult these days.
But he didn't have too much time to walllow in that as he was flopped upon by a yelling child. He sat up, of course making the child slid down his front to be standing as Sevilin was still sitting. "Let me see." Taking the child's hand and looking...well he didn't see a bite but his skin was a bit warmer than normal on his hand. "What bit you or what did it look like?"

Arthur had that same grin on his face when Melody blushed, oh how she looked so cute like that it was so funny just to see her do it. "Well that's a good sign now isn't it? you still got what it takes to snag a lad." Of course he heard it, elven ears after all or did she forget? But he was just joking around with her, she wanted someone and hopefully she would be able to get him, she deserved someone special in her life. "Elwin? Little Elwin? Oh my gods really? So he finally got the courage to ask you out huh? I can't believe it!" Well back then when Arthur and Melody were lads they were in a group, he was the leader, Melody was his second in command and then there were...five others, mixed gender of course, and Elwin was one of them, he was the quiet one who read books and was so cute too, he had such a crush on Melody and everyone knew about it he just wouldn't admit it. "Well good luck to Elwin and this other gentleman, if they can be seen in your eye they surely got what it takes to be with you." He said with a light chuckle but paused on the last few words that she said, so with a small grin he walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her into a nice hug, burying his face in her hair a little, she smelled like ash and fire wood; hey she was like a sister to him so he could do this. "Well Mel if you see someone you like than I say go for it, you deserve to be happy, I feel sorry for Elwin but I think he'll understand..." His hand went lightly across her stomach as he held her close. "So go for it beautiful...snag the lad maybe he'll love you back." He said with a light chuckle.

She watched the child go to his father for comfort and remembered seeing Malikhai after he had hurt himself go running for Mommy. That's what Zykariel had called her earlier. She was concerned as well but Sevilin could handle this without her so she would let him.
"It was red. No it was black. Well actually it was kind of black with red stuff on it. But it had really big pincher thingies and I had just decided to leave it alone when all of a sudden it reached up and bit me and it wouldn't let go. I had to shake it off like this." And he frantically shook his hand showing him how he got the bug off. "At least it didn't bleed..."
Melody hated it when he did that. He loved to remind her of her past and shook her head. True that when she had been a child, he was already an adult but she didn't care. Yes she was probably way too young for him but she wanted him and age didn't matter to her. But when he said things like 'little' and then someone's name well she felt like he was reminding her of their huge age difference.
Then he wandered up behind her and she stiffened as his hands came to her waist and locked around her and she felt his face push into her hair. How often had she wanted just this to happen? Was he telling her what she thought he was? That he wanted her to pursue him? She could do that. She relaxed back into him giving him silent encouragement and blew out a breath. "Not likely. He's quite stubborn..can't see what's right in front of him."

Arthur chuckled lightly as he kept his arms locked around Mel's waist, he always did this when she was working or relaxing or whenever, heck they use to sleep together but not naked of course while they were still in their cloths; they had a tight bond and he liked it that way. "Now you listen to me this guy must be as dull as an old blade that hasn't been used in ages to not see that you like him, your beautiful, smart, and above all you know when to get your hands dirty you don't sit back your independent; any man would love to have you Mel trust me on that." He said with a smirk as he pulled his head out of her hair, then with his one hand he reached up and turned her head towards him. "Now you do whatever it takes to nab this fellow, he deserves your love and he should know about alright? If he holds a special place in your heart then tell him, let it be known don't keep it locked away it'll only bug you for te rest of your life..." He looked at her with sad eyes and smiled a little. "And I don't want you to be alone for the rest of your life Mel...you deserve to be happy." After all she was fairly young and Gavin well...he was getting to the point where his body will betray him and he wont be able to work anymore, he might have at least fifteen years or a little more and that's it then after that he'll be waiting or death to come knocking; Melody needs someone other than her father to love her.

Anything black with red stuff on it was bad...and probably poisionous. He took hold of the boy's hand and was about to rune it...when he thought better about it. If he did it he knew he was going to bleed...he was running on runing reserves as it was what with all he had been doing lately. Thus he got himself up. "Stay here a moment." And thus went to check the area the boy had been playing, indeed finding the bug squirming on it's back. Yup...that was poisonous.
With a sigh he walked back over to the pair. He had two choices. Say something to Zahara, or get home and rummage through her potions there. But first he knelt to Zykariel. "Don't be scared okay?" Thus turning his look to Zykariel. "You're a cleric...you can neutralize poisons with you're magic, can't you?" Oh yes, he was panicing on the inside. Zykariel and poison didn't belong in the same sentence...even in tiny amounts.

Walking witht he tray twoards thier room, looking at his son a moment, thena shrug.
"I don't really think so. the only jobs we really had that lets you fight was a warrior and a shadowknight. the others were spellcasters, but I was never really secure wearing those robes andusing staves and wands. much prefered blades. though we had assassins as well. but I didn't like all teh sneaking around stuff. If I was going to fight someone, I wanted to look at thier eyes, not thier backs."
then a knock on his bedroom door.
"Chev? You still in there?"

He nodded up at his father as he toddled along on his heels. "But there's still lots of stuff to choose from right?" Well this was all fun wasn't it. But they came up to the bedroom and he had been about to do his child like thing of entering without knocking, but it seemed that daddy wanted to knock...okay, stand there patiently. And mimic daddy. "Mommy!"
Piper was still sitting at the desk where she had plopped down who knows how long ago. Though she hadn't gotten as much done as she had wanted...being rather distracted be it from pain or from being off of good terms with both husband and son. She hated being the bad guy...Piper rubbed at her temples, letting the pen drop to the desk and looked over her shoulder at two familiar voices. Great...they were ready to make thier point weren't they? "Door's open..." She should of locked it. But back to papers, one hand breifly rubbing over the still bloody spot in her hair. Might as well take something soon for that pain...it was distracting.

So Malik came in with the tray of food, and laid it down on her desk by her, and took to rubbing her shoulders lightly.
"How is everything going? And Malikhai, you do want to say something to mommy, don't you?"
giving him that 'apologize' look, before back to Piper.
"I apologize for undermining you. and I know there are things he's still you little boy about. So if you prefer we stop his lessons, we can do that. But he is very good. hasn't hurt himself at all."

He had pushed open the door for his father and then toddler in after closing it, knowing mommy and daddy liked thier door closed then toddled on over to mommy's desk. Though he gave one of those 'I don't think I really need to but I will looks' as he got the apologize look. Thus he clasped his hands behind his back and toed the floor. "I'm sorry for touching what I wasn't supposed to and arguing with you mommy." Hey he knew what he had done wrong, wasn't like he didn't know. And then following up on his father. "Yeah! I was really careful and I didn't play around because it's not a toy."
She momentarily stopped signing papers and looked over as he set down what was apparently her dinner. "That's for me?" And she gave almost a confused blink then another as she felt his hands on her shoulders. "Everything's fine." Though her look went down to thier son as he pulled the cute look and duely apologized. "You're forgiven..." Though her attention came back to Malik as he then decided that he needed to apologize...and then stand up for what he did, the child chiding in right beside him. "Malik if we're going to talk about that, I don't want him around to hear it." Him being Malikhai of course...there was no need to possibly fight in front of the boy.
