And there it happened...she caught herself actually being a good mother of sorts and she pulled away from it all, just simply disengaged because that meant that she was getting too close to the boy, and to Sevilin himself. But he sat up, petting through his son's hair. "I am duely warned then. I'll just have to reverie with my eyes open then. Find out how sneaky you really are." Another pet to the boy, picking him up and setting him off to the side. "Hey, bet there are some really good bug around here...why don't you go pocket some?" He wanted just a moment alone with Zahara, he had to say something.

He gave a kiddie growl in his throat and then made a cute little 'I'm gonna get you' face before he grinned. "I bet you're right!" He wasn't going to stick around too much longer after being told he could find bugs since Daddy sometimes got upset when he brought some of them home in his pocket. Thus into the surrounding clearing, hunting.
Zahara watched the little boy scamper off and fiddled with the bottle in her hand. She really shouldn't have anymore since there was no need to be tipsy in the Underdark. Her eyes drifted over to Sevilin and her mind played with that image from earlier, linking them once again. Zykariel was off playing, she could curl up beside him and maybe even indulge in a few kisses. But she and Sevilin weren't that couple therefore she opted for the wine instead. "He's having fun.."

Well Arthur did what he wanted to do, he grabbed a drink of water while at the fortress, before Malik and his son started to cook, and went back outside to fetch his horse Brahnel. Holding an apple in his hand Arthur placed two fingers in his mouth and blew letting out a nice long whistle which his stallion responded too in record time, grinning lightly the elf presented the apple as a treat and it was eaten in two bites. "Missed me eh buddy?" He asked as he petted the stallion's side, his answer was given in a small nudge to which he chuckled at, after all he hasn't learned how to talk to animals yet, hopefully he would be able to pick up on a few things from Piper soon. But as he pet his horse lightly an idea popped into his head and he smiled a little. "Hey want to go visit a few friends of mine? Come on it'll be fun!" He said as he mounted his steed with a chuckle, hey he said he would visit Melody and Gavin so why not do it now since he has the means to get there? "Alright buddy on to Honorsfeild!" He shouted and squeezed the horses side lightly, and in a second they were gone in a blink of an eye.
Minutes later Arthur was now at the blacksmith in the city, the same one he took Isle and Lark to a while ago, getting off he lead his horse to be tied up, soothing the beast and telling him that he has to be tied up, he couldn't be allowed to roam now. "Don't worry buddy when we go back home I'll allow you to roam as much as you want trust me..." He whispered as he petted the horse lightly then went off and entered the forge with a small smile. "Hey! Anyone home or what!?" He called out, they should be home, Gavin never liked leaving his home alone anyway but that never stopped the man from going out from time to time.

Hm...where to start. For a moment he just watched Zykariel playing before giving a sigh and reaching over, taking the wine bottle from her so she would indeed listen to him. She never listened when she was drinking. And thus he played with the bottle a moment before looking up to her again. "I uh...I'm sorry he called you that...I know it's not what you want and it just probably made things uncomfortable for you. Though I do know how this whole thing in general is...but I do appreciate you coming. This whole horse thing is beyond me."
Giving perhaps somewhat of a chuckle that one used when trying to lighten moods, though he was never very good at that anyway. And an awkward pause again. What did he want to say to her exactly? He didn't know...he just wanted things to be right. "He misses you...n general you know. And I miss you too. Funny...you get so used to not being a stranger to a person that you find it even more awkward than when you first met. I guess I'm saying...though I've alreay told you that....you can come back if you want, I don't expect anything out of you..." They both knew that Zykariel might but that would just have to be delt with. "But...don't feel obligated to come back, you have your own life and all."
Yeah awkward pause again and thus he looked for a subject change. Ah yes what to do with Zykariel tomorrow. "On another note...how busy is Piper lately?" Goning on the fact of course that Zahara kept mentioning how busy she was herself.

She let him take the wine without protest because after all, she didn't need to be drinking anymore than she already was. She tilted her head and watched him before realizing that he was serious in talking to her which would explain his sending the child away. She licked her lips and sighed, "I didn't know what to do when he called me that. But...it was kind of nice." She broke one of the cookies in half and slowly took a bite. "I want to...I just don't know how and I'm afraid of messing up. I know that sounds like an excuse and I'm sorry that I've put you both through so much misery. There's really no reason." He continued though and she felt a lump fill her throat. Zykariel had missed her. That wasn't what really hit her hard though. Sevilin had missed her. "You missed me? I would have thought you would have been thrilled to get me out of your house. I do intend to come back if I can, I was just afraid to do it too soon. I hate to get his hopes up and then dash them. I don't want to hurt him anymore." This had gotten really revealing really quick. She ate the other half of the cookie and then glanced up and met his eyes. "I don't want to hurt either of you." She swallowed and thought about it for a moment. "She's been far busier as of late since Malik decided to take a vacation. But I'm sure she could do whatever you needed. What did you have in mind?"
"Depends on who's asking and what it is you want." Melody came out wiping her hands on her apron and then grinning as she saw who it was. "ARTHUR!" She raced over to him and threw herself at him, locking her arms around his neck and bringing him to the ground. "Where have you been?"

Arthur lightly smiled when he saw Melody come out, it seemed that she was working but he didn't mind, Arthur worked around here sometimes himself when he was a young lad so he knew what it was like to get dirty. "And there is the princess Melo-" He was barely able to finish his sentence when Melody threw herself at him, with a small "Oof!" he found himself on the floor looking up at the human girl with a small grin on his face. "I've been around..." He said through clenched teeth, the surprise of Melody's throwing herself onto him took the breath out of his lings. "So how's things with you beautiful?" He asked with a chuckle as they laid there on the floor.

"Yeah..." That was all he said to her explaination. Yes it was an excuse and even she knew it but he wasn't going to protest it. It would just be him hitting his head against a brick wall again and getting little to nowhere. She was still a lap behind everyone else on what she saw and what everyone else saw. Prime example of her saying she didn't want to hurt anyone when she already was.
But he looked to her again. "I guess I got used to having you around. Truth me told I've never been alone. It was always my sisters, or my brothers, then it was you and Zykariel. And yes, I have Zykariel...but it's still not the same sometimes." No it wasn't. The child didn't know the horrors or anything, he could only do but so much to be company...and he would be just as happy to ignore Sevilin all day and play with Rawr.
But damn it all...why did Piper have to go and do things that would make his life harder? "Well...since you're so busy, I needed someone to watch Zykariel tomorrow so I can do these runics for Malik...I was going to see if I could grovel to her to watch him for me. As I don't like to put him in the hands of the serfs and well...Malik probably wouldn't want to watch him. Especially if he's on his little vacation status."

Hmm..okay how to answer this.
"A Shadowknight's path is a difficult one. requiring power, strength, conviction and faith. Shadowknights in my home followed a few dieties. Bertoxxulus, Innoruuk, and Cazic Thule mostly. those are the powers of Decay, Hate, and Fear. I follow Innoruuk, the Prince of Hate."
Let that sink in a moment.
"Our power is dark, and thus it is dieties of that nature we follow. poison, disease, lifetapping, the banshee aura..evne the shadowstep. they are dark powers. they cause harm, like my Harm Touch. Hatred can focus you, make you strong and powerful. but it can blind you as well to what is important in life. like you and mommy."
stirring the spagehtii sauce and getting white wine out and a wine glass for the tray to Piper.
"I hate those that might harm you or my House and members of it. There are other things I hate, adn through that hate, I draw power. It's not a path for nice people, but my past was hardly a nice one. and I certainly didn't have the privilage of a good father, and I didn't have a mother of sibilings very long, either."

Annnnnd he was confused...and it showed on his little face. "But you're nice now and you're still a shadowknight." If it wasn't for nice people...then how did daddy do it because daddy indeed was nice. Sure, he had a temper to other mean people but they deserved that. "Does that mean I can't be one because I'm nice?" Well that certinally wasn't fair now was it? To be excluded because you were nice.
He looked like he was trying to process some things, which he did understand most of what he was being told, that is except for how his father was two things at once but it still worked out somehow.

A small chuckle.
"I channel the power of Hate differently than I used to. When I was young, I hated all of mommy's kind. We were raised that way. now, I hate those people that would hurt mommy and you. and I don't like humans, so I use my hate of them to keep my shadowknight powers."
Okay how to simplify this.
"and I am a nice person to people that I want to be nice to. But I'm not always nice. I wasn't nice to the lich, was I. Or to the humans in the last Tournament, or to the Orcs that attacked our home. Because I hate the orcs, adn the humans I can still use the power from Innoruuk."
And a tap on his son's nose.
"Shadowknights have to study necromancy. that magic type you didn't like, the black robed guy."

"Ooooh." Well it made sense now he got it. But of course he had plenty more to say as they were making mommy's dinner. "Why would you want to be taught to hate mommy's kind?" Not that he totally understood that...he knew mommy was a surface elf but being who he was he didn't see the harm in that. Though a grin from him, knowing what daddy was talking about from the stories that mommy told him. "They deserved it."
Then a wrinkle of his nose as his father tapped it and he gave a skeptical huffy look. "That's not fair." Though since he was on this current 'I want to be like daddy and thus a shadowknight' kick this evening, he was using his smarts. "What if I just learned a little, would that count?"

Then making two plates of spagehtii and meatballs, laoding on the parmesean cheese, and setting them on the table for later.
"On Norrath, Tier'dal and Koada'dal hate eachother. and that hate extends to Fier'dal and Ary'dal as well. surface elves and underfoot elves have a long hate and history of war. almst back to the birth of the first Tier'dal."
A shake of his head.
"So young Tier'dal are told about how horrible and cruel and arrogant and dangerous Surface elves are. and it's constant you go to school, your taught to hate them, you go to church, your taught to hate them, parents teach thier children that. You're training in the military is so you can kill them first."
A pat on hsi son's head.
"But we know better, your mom and I. and We won't teach you that way. and it's more than a little. you have to learn half of what they do."
A chuckle though, picking up the tray that was all ready to go.
"But there's lots of dieties, and lots of paths to choose. I didn't get a choice, In Neriak you became what the Empire needed. they wanted Shadowknights, so I was trained to be a shadowknight."

He smiled at his father after being pat on the head. "That's good because grandpa and grandma and Lharika and Isleandra are all surface elves. I don't wanna hate them and I don't wanna hate mommy." Because that was bad. Though one of those looks of distaste at being told what he would have to do to have daddy's job.
But he took to following his father since it was time to go when daddy picked up the tray. "Really? Do you ever wanna be something else?" Hm now there were choices in the mix. "So I shouldn't choose yet, right?"

"Neither have I. It's been hard the last week or so and I've pretty much been keeping to myself. Things just aren't the same as they used to be." She wasn't the same as she used to be. She nodded in agreement to him, mulling a few things over in his mind. Finally she curled her legs beneath her and settled herself more comfortably on the blanket. "Well, if you both want me back then I can make that happen." She dug in the basket and pulled out the last sandwich offering it to him since she couldn't eat anymore and she doubted Zykariel would want it. "Piper might be really busy but I'm not. I know I've been telling you that I am constantly busy but that's a lie. I just didn't want you to know that I was sitting around thinking about you two everyday. Kind of thought that made me look pathetic especially since I still maintain that I can't be his mother the way he wants me to be..."
She blushed prettily and slipped off of him, picking herself up and dusting herself off, then extending a hand down to him to help him gain his feet as well. "Oh you know, same old same old. Missing you, keeping Daddy in line, making sure everything goes smoothly and working. That's about the extent of it. What are you doing in town and how long are you staying?" Where was the elf he'd come with last time? Had they broken up? Could she be that lucky?

"Like I said it's up to you...don't obligate yourself. You'll just learn to hate us." He already came to the assumption that she disliked them on a level for some reason, no need to turn that into a hate of any sorts now was there? No, of course not. Though he did look surprised as she mentioned her 'busy time' was all a lie. He smirked slightly and somewhat pitifully, shaking his head at the sandwich...even if he could probably pack away five or so more. "I can think of things that are more pathetic than that." Yeah but he didn't want to think of those in his head right now. "I suppose if you wanted you could watch him...it's only one day and then I'm taking some time off. It's hard doing it all by myself sometimes. Amazing that I can manage...but I think I'm doing well...we're both still alive after all."
