*Luke faded into the Brink, sitting on a table with his feet hanging over the edge. There are circles of weariness under his eyes. Luke rubs his eyes as the Brink comes into focus. He stood up and walked forward in a sort of daze.*
*Luke notes the quiet and finds that he’s alone. His eyes scan the floors. No one lying on the ground. Well, hey, -there's- something new. Luke’s grateful that no one is there. He doesn’t especially feel like talking to anyone or doing anything for anybody.*
*You didn’t do anything for anybody. Guilt hits him and stays, poking a sharp finger in his ribs.*

*Luke's eyes find the spot where he faded in with Karebana Hajime. She only said her name once, but he remembered it, along with most everything else they said. Luke walks back and slinks down into a chair.*
*Luke glares. He can still hear it. (They way he snapped her neck.) The Seraphim said something about her family, that they were dead. But that didn’t mean that she wasn’t somebody’s friend, somebody's student, something to somebody. And that b*****d was coming back. He could take him or any of them. Luke knew it was a fear tactic – but it had worked. Luke –believed- he would do it again, who he wanted, when he wanted.*
*And he was sitting here not doing a thing about it. Luke glared harder and stood up. Well <********> that. He wasn’t going to just sit here. He wasn’t. He, all of them, had done that too ******** long.*

*Again, he thought about Hajime. She stood up. When the Seraphim called her out, she stood up and gave it everything she had. Luke had been witness to that, too. He stared down at the spot on the floor of the Brink. No matter what he forgot about her, he wouldn’t forget that.*
*In front of him, Luke sees the table he faded in on. Then he sees the cigarette burn in its corner. His jaw clenches, and Luke paces over to the bar. He takes out a beer and opened the bottle. He takes the cap and slams it on one end of the bar.*
*Luke stands there for a moment, staring hard at the cap. Every other time he’d tried this, he’d felt inwardly stupid, ridiculous, and self-conscious. Those feelings are ******** gone. No more ******** games. He’d do this. He’d do it for her. He’d do it for himself. He’d do it to get that b*****d and everyone else with him.*
*Luke puts out his hand. In his mind, he sees the bottle cap and the exact spot on the bar where he wants it to be. He pushes his hand forward and gives it everything he’s got.*

*The bottle cap starts to stir, shaking on the bar. Luke's eyes go wide when he sees it working and he waves his hand forward.*
*Shhhhhhhick.*
*The bottle cap slides about a foot down the bar and stops. Exactly where he wanted it to be.*
*Luke lets out a grin and breathes.* Huh!!
*At the same time, Luke collapses forward and barely catches the bar with his hands. Exhaustion hits him like as runaway train. Holy s**t. HOLY s**t! His arms feel like jelly. Breathing hard, Luke stares up at the bottle cap. But he did it. Holy s**t. He DID it.*

*A fierce grin spreads across Luke’s face, but he isn’t able to hold himself up. He stumbles back and his a** gracelessly finds the floor. He sits there, taking time to catch his breath.*
*He stays there, until some of his strength returns. Luke stands up, swaying, and once again catches himself on the bar. Ugggh. ********. It took a lot out of him. Luke stumbles down the bar and grabs the bottle cap. With that in hand, he walks very carefully over to a table. He sits at it and waits some more. Then, after a long while, he puts the cap onto the table.*
*He gonna do it again.... in a minute anyway. And if he passes out, he’ll wake the ******** back up and he’ll do it again.*

:::Cora quietly walks down the guest halls towards the main room. She hears nothing, and imagines that by now, everyone was gone from the hours before. She pokes her head in, and gasps...
It's clean..! The whole place is back to normal!
And as she scans the place she sees Luke, so she walks out to where he's seated. Once again, she's dressed in her uniform, boots, cuffs, and her hair is tied back. They feel a little better on her skin again:::
Luke...?

*Luke looks at the bottle cap. He's got a queasy, thumping headache, but .... C'mon, champ, show, the lady. Go. Bring it.*
*He brings up his chest and focuses his hand on the bottle cap. Again it stirs and this time the cap shiiiicks only half a foot.*
*Luke grins and laughs a little, before the room blurs before his eyes. Luke's head dips back in the chair.*

Oh... Luke. :::She looks at him just in time and realizes he's about to pass out:::
Luke! :::Her hands steady him in the chair, and she lifts the back of his head forward:::
That's enough... you're going to knock yourself out. Relax...

*The room's spinning a little. It's like he drank a fifth of Jack, except he hasn't drank a drop.* No, I'm not. I'm... I'm alright. *He lets Cora steady him and pats her on the back.* Don't worry. I'm a superhero, baby.

*Luke's head rests against his arm on the table. His breathing's still a little heavy, but he grins.* Thanks. *looks to Cora, his words still coming out between breaths* Just give me a sec..... Then, bring me my cape. I'll fly us the ******** out of here.
