ananda082001 Yeah, bots are considered "cheating" and are a big TOS violation. What I don't get is how KC was accused of it in the first place. He's hardly been around to make any gold, let alone the obscene amounts botting can make you. The only thing I can think of is if he recieved a donation that had been "earned" through botting. Because, messed up as it sounds, if you receive botted gold, even if you didn't know it was botted, you get banned. That's really good to know. The moral, I guess, is to not accept ridiculous amounts of gold from people you do not know well. Of course, I probably would have, myself, before hearing about KC... I can kind of understand the reasoning behind banning the reciever of 'fenced' botted gold , though. If I were a smart exploiter I would have seperate accounts..perhaps even on different machines so they couldnt rip my IP address to find out who I am. Then, just mail myself my ill-botten gains. It's sort of like 'gold laundering' to 'clean up' the botted gold.

It's kinda scary to know that you could get banned for something you didn't even know about.

They see that user X recieved botted gold, therefore they must be banned. Which means there's the potential for a lot of innocent people to permamnently lose their accounts and everything they worked hard for just for accepting a donation, or even a payment for a service they've provided. I actually found one artist in the Minishops, who stopped doing comissions, because she was scared of being payed with botted gold. I know the reasoning behind the policy. I just think there has to be better way.

Or even, god forbid, charities. I think this policy has the potential to really mess up a lot of users.

All they have to do is sell to the wrong person and get banned!
