You have to look under weird news under the news link. I looked at that and some of the other stories there and was reminded of how cold hearted I am. This is a good example that will make the animal lovers here hate me a little. Sorry everyone but if my pet needed surgery that cost more than it would for me to have the same surgery done to me? Sorry but put it out of its misery. I told my husband a long time ago that once we grow old if I get to where I can't take care of my self I want him to have me put to sleep. His grandmother has lost her mind and pretty much any ability to take care of herself. She is like an infant almost. It is sad but there is nothing we can do for her now except wait for her to die. So sad.

I think it really depends on the situation. Since I discovered Bailey had a bladder stone the size of a ping pong ball thanks to the poor care of her previous owners just 2 days after I adopted her, there was a distinct possibility that she was going to have to suffer for much more time than I would have liked had we not been able to work out an alternative with my veterinarian. Fortunately, there is the CareCredit Healthcare Finance corporation which provides payment plans for all sorts of patients, be they human or otherwise. We were able to pay back the cost of everything she had done with no interest in less than a year thanks to that. sweatdrop

This is a unrelated topic but this happened 2 days ago at my workplace.
It's a stolen credit fraud. Unfortunately, there's no way to refund the purchase. sad Anyway, this is what happened...
Male suspect walked into the store and purchased $50 phone card. By the time the card approved, I looked at the (female) name of the cardholder.
Me: I'm sorry but your signature does not match the signature on the card. What is your name?
Suspect: I'm (Cardholder's name).
Me: *thinking "Okay..."* Since that the signature does not match, (insert female cardholder's name), may I see your photo ID.
Suspect: I left it in the car.
Suspect left the store leaving the stolen card and merchandise behind.
He's not a total idiot. He signed the transaction with his gloves on. sad
