Drago_the_Blackrose why aren't you watching attack on titan? I am, but I was led to believe there would be more potatoes in it. Hmph. Guess I'll stick with Madchen und Panzer, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory and watching ahead for Sword Art Online.

Guess I'll stick with Madchen und Panzer, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory and watching ahead for Sword Art Online. I work at a military museum, mostly on display there are tanks. I am afraid to watch Girls und Panzer because of historical detail flaws on the tanks. Should I watch it or will I puke?

I am afraid to watch Girls und Panzer because of historical detail flaws on the tanks. Should I watch it or will I puke? Well first off, it's an anime. So I wasn't expecting to get an in-depth explanation of how the caterpillar treads are aligned or what caliber shells are used. But that being said, the tanks do seem reasonably true to form, with at least a snippet of information behind most of the models used. As well, they do seem to handle realistically, you won't see any flying tanks pulling off a Death From Above or anything. (Admittedly you will see the damage largely mitigated, because it's not a title that deals with the more brutal side of warfare. Everyone gets scuffed and shaken, but beyond that the damage stays mostly cosmetic to the tanks.) As an aside, until I do some research into actual sizes of the tanks, I'm going to assume they are more or less the same size as they are in real life. All in all, I'd rate it a solid title both in realism and in entertainment value. Though it took some getting used to the sub track's random smattering of German throughout. (Japanese audio, mostly English subs with sporadic German popping up.) Handy for a secondary source for learning German, potentially? I'd say give it a shot. As far as the puking part, since I don't know what all drives you to vomit, I couldn't properly say whether this title would or would not have such an effect.

Well I saw one scene from the anime when they were singing Katushya. A bunch of t-34-85's rolled up on screen, fallowed by a IS-2, then a kv-2. At the end of the song they all fire, become a huge firing squad to just blow up what I think was a single Panzer III. It was so over kill that I didn't want to watch anymore. The 152 10mm would of been enough to destroy it alone in probably any place on the tank. Also I was wondering why Germany only sent one panzer III after around 10 soviet tanks. If they were scouting they would be using a leopard or luchous.

If they were scouting they would be using a leopard or luchous. Well Germany doesn't have much to do with the anime, besides where some of the tanks came from. The premise is that tankery/Panzerfahren (I think it was?) is the 'proper activity to raise proper young ladies' or some such. So the various schools in the anime hold tournaments where they field groups of schoolgirls in tanks, in mock sorties against one another. Thus you get a cultural mishmash of tanks on any and every side of the battle. Off the top of my head, I know the main character's school has a Panzer 4 and a Sturmgeschutz, along with three others. One of the other schools is all Sherman, I believe. And yes, for at least part of the series, one of the tanks is painted bright pink. A snippet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTtQhlGDIG0Overall, it's not a historical war anime, it's a girls in tanks anime.

So in light of the fact that no one can really RP in Mist, making it inaccessible.. I think I would like to make an announcement (IN RP) saying that the fleeing villagers of Hidden Mist have for the most part fled villages, to the closest nearby village. (Which I do believe ends up being either Whirlpool or Cloud. And as such that village as taken in the refugees for the time that the all out war is taking place.
Doing this, allows anyone role playing in the refugee holding village the ability to learn techniques from either that village or Hidden Mist, as if they were in both places at once.
I'd like to see any and everyone's opinion on this. If you think it's a fitting idea, I'll throw the announcement up immediately as an urgent news bulletin. 3nodding
