It was truly a wonder there were any trees left outside of the citadel at this rate. There was hardly much reason they could even exist outside after all the bombing and radiation that had bombarded the land.

Mastema couldn't help but sigh to himself slightly. Yes, he had one of the biggest technological accomplishments in the reason, but people still didn't get the most straightforward things sometimes. "What gate? Just walk"

There really wasn't any need to add more. It wasn't as if he felt obligated to explain to his minions how the barrier worked as long as they went in and out.

Though the barrier didn't disappear, the part in front of Phia would become transparent, which was as good an indication as any. As the light of the barrier adjusted, the shadows around would shimmer a bit, seeming in response to the changing lighting. One could only wonder what she'd find in the citadel while seeking Mas out. It was likely someone would come find her before Mastema let her loose for too long.

*Nana and the children continued to near the tower, and about five minutes later they would be inside. Each of the children would be scooted off to their rooms to drop off the items they picked out. They would be packed up later into a small drawer by their bedsides. After that they would all return to the lobby with Nana. Micha would look out towards where Phia and Devon were coming in from, as would Eecheb a minute after. Trilla was too busy spinning for Nana to notice her brothers randomly staring elsewhere*

Micha: . . .

Eecheb: | >_>| Hmm.

She stepped forward throgh the gap in barrier and walked down the small path that opened into a road. It looked much like an abandoned city with the Citadel in the middle. She had spent some time here once but as a corpse in a glass case, unaware of everything. Still, she had been here. Devon was cooing softly at the new sights around him. Phia kept going since she wasnt sure exactly Mastema was located in the Citadel she didnt want to risk shadow walking somewhere she shouldn't, especially with her son. But someone would find her....or something, which troubled Phia slightly but she hoped that Mastema's personnel would be informed not to attack her.

With any luck, at the very least, the generals knew Phia was around, so they weren't likely to freak when they found Phia and thought she was an intruder. Since the Vanguard hadn't obliterated her yet, one could assume they were also informed.

Not long after the kids had finished coming back down to the lobby, the elevator left and returned again with Mastema in tow. Not having expected to see the four there, Mastema paused for a moment. "Ah, so this is where you all were....." He also took a moment to register his two sons, who were acting like compasses with the way they were looking. Maybe he'd sit one of them on the roof to look out for bad people in their spare time.

"I suppose this is a tad sudden.... however, an old resident of the Black Company is currently visiting the citadel.... I was on my way to meet with her. There is nothing really to fear from her, so you are welcome to join me if you wish." Mastema began moving as soon as he finished talking, clearly not wanting Phia to get too far before they met up.

------------------------

"Hmm hmm.... the transgression has begun. Now we merely need to wait for the appropriate day. The time will come sooner than later, one could hope." V5 mumbled incoherently to itself. On a far away rooftop, he had been observing Phia well out of visual range. Still, if one were to be able to look into the eye of the thing, it would be a surely sinister aura.

-----------------------

"Ha! Look at that! She just walked right in I tell you!"

"Will you calm down. There's no need to be so excited about every little thing."

Turing mumbled, looking through the binoculars toward the place where Phia had just walked through the citadel. Ever since the day he'd royally pissed Griffin off, he'd taken up resident with the young student known as Heine. For one reason or another, Heine was decisive in helping Turing on his mission to find whoever he was looking for. In return, Heine had gotten quite a good few technology 'tips' from Turing, a good knowledge booster as far as Heine was concerned.

Now here they were, on the mountain range opposite the one that had vanished; it couldn't be said at this point if they had anything to do with it. It was merely by chance, whatever the case, that they found the citadel. So now, they were observing the oddity of the thing, not knowing there was an entire city inside of it.

Oh? Hnn... Maybe I will.

*Nana had no way of knowing the visitor was Phia, they had met twice, though Nana could only remember the second meeting when she visited the Dojo by herself. The children may have seen her once at the Dojo too when they were still one, though it wasn't the best experience admittedly. They had followed Thanatos, and luckily hadn't been attacked by anyone, though there was pleanty of bickering and yelling that day, something best forgotten. Devon was new however to all parties, Phia's most recent child. The boy was probably half the size of the citadel children, and less than half the age aswell. Still, he could do things they couldn't, and vica versa. It would be an interesting meeting, as the children followed both Mastema and Nana out of the building. Perhaps on the way Mastema would notice the children's attire was different. If anything they'd like to be acknowledged, as looking different today. Once Nana had caught up with Mastema she would wrap her left arm around his right, and interlock her right hand to his. The children weren't far behind, and proceeded like lemmings*

"We missed a opening, sir." Came the report, anxiety-ridden. Such oversight wasn't taken lightly among KB's forces, especially given the nature of that which they watched. Still, it seemed this one was alive for now, and not being torn to pieces. Furthering the aquired information, the man would continue. "There was a slight change about the field before entry, but as usual all our scans came up blank. We've reason to suspect whoever made use of the doorway entered, as they're no forms registered outside of the field." He finished simply, and earned a curt nod. For now, they would continue with their operation at hand.

Construction, and Recon. Assault could wait indefinitely, as neither side was in a hurry to go anywhere. Firing blindly into the field would achieve little, as even KB's mapping technique had failed to give him an accurate portrayal of the underground Citadel. That was KB's true aim, to reach into the bowels of the place and retrieve Mastema's secrets. Burning the tower itself to the ground would not be a dream realized for quite some time.

Nonetheless, precautions had to be employed. A single unit would disengage from it's node, filing out of the compound and activating its camoflouge. The thing left quickly, heading to the field.

She kept walking through the streets. Where Mastema was or even if he was meeting her personally was unknown. Little did she know his entire family was. Which would be confusing to her because it would be strange to talk about such private matters. Devon stared at the buildings with intrest, squirming abit in his mother's arms as they progressed, he wanted to explore but he wasn't free to wander here as he was in his own home, then again there was no spells keeping him safe.

It wasn't terribly far a distance to walk, though on that short walk Mas had to contemplate why he was going to put up with the crap he was going to get from Phia for showing up looking like a family man instead of the cunning b*****d they'd all come to know him as. The next thought was why should he have cared anyway. As Nana's fingers interlocked with his, she would feel his hand respond it tune while he leaned over and kissed her briefly on the cheek. While his head was turned, he chanced to look back at his children and finally took notice. "Ah.... so that is what it was...... I thought something was different about you three." More or less, it seemed as if they'd at least succeeded in having Mastema recognize their new appearances.

It would take about five more minutes before Phia's wandering would lead her to walk past a junction in front of Mastema and his family; they would be coming from her left. The first thing Mastema noticed, of course, was the child that Phia had with her. The sensors had registered two people, but Mastema figured Phia would have at least brought someone who'd hit puberty. Making a call out to Phia it wouldn't be hard for her to hear him. "I would have at least thought you would bring your older child, Olean."

*Olean? Nana wasn't familiar with that name, so it would naturally come as a surprise to see the woman she had met as Phia. So that was who it was, this... Black Company member that had come to visit. It seemed releaving somehow, though why that was seemed uncertain. Upon seeing Mastema and Nana, Phia would also likely spot three familiar children. They had been with Thanatos one day when he had arrived at the Dojo, they had spent the night there*

Phia turned at the use of her maiden name which she hadn't heard in years, her eyes fell on Mastema's form and she adjusted her glasses some, after all it didn't seem realistic that he would have people surrounding him that he wasn't going to use or kill, let alone children and a woman. The woman seemed overwhelmingly familiar to Phia, she had the sneaking suspicion that she had seen her in the Dojo, though could not place the circumstances. Her navy brow arched and she turned, walking towards them.

"My Oldest is elsewhere but I 'ardly think tha' age makes a difference when neither of them will be a factor in our talks. Now Mastema, ar' ye using these poor people for some sick twisted plot of yours or do ye actually 'ave some sort of a soft spot tha' doesn't 'ave ability to turn to goo?" Her last thought of the sentance was dripping in sheer sarcasm, realistically she didn't want to be here any longer than need. The children behind Mastema unnerved her a bit they looked somewhat like Mastema but also like the woman. "Also...where's Thanny at? I've not seen 'im fer sometime."

"So it really is your perception of a 'good idea' to have such a young child around someone you have such little trust in." Mas didn't take kindly to being so rudely treated after the amount of effort he was already going through for this Irish woman. "I find it hard to justify such crude remarks as years have passed since our last meeting. And, if I recall, it was your family who attacked us the most recently. There is also the fact that you owe your current state of being alive partially to me. So let us not trod so hard on fragile territory; I have no wish to infect yours or my children's minds with slander for a day." Mastema recomposed himself.

"As for who these people are, allow me to introduce you to my wife, Nana, and our three children." Mastema spoke it like a normal introduction, but it wasn't terribly difficult to detect a faint hint of boasting behind it. "Thanatos is elsewhere. But as you said, I do not believe he has any bearing on this discussion."

Ah-- Um... H-hello.... again.

*Sick and twisted plot? ....well, that was certainly-- different. If Mastema did have such a 'sick and twisted plot' in mind, he certainly didn't show it. Trilla hid behind Mastema a little, Eecheb also moved over a bit. It was one of those people again... The ones from that Dojo place that were arguing and yelling loudly, and she didn't seem happy either. Perhaps more unnerving to Phia would be Micha, who appeared to be staring a whole right through the core of her very being. The woman wanted to see Thanatos, Mastema however in a polite sense, told her no*

Phia's brow arched higher, there was suprise non-the-less in her eyes but not overwhelmingly so, she wasn't her normally expressive self. Mastema commenting on her parenting skills wasn't really needed either after all there was Thanatos. But she chose not to mention that, she assumed that his family knew little about his past and he'd want to kept it that way, she respected him for that.

"Well Mastema it was either bring 'im with me or leave 'im in the 'ouse alone with Sairys...Since I don't particularily trust 'er, I prefer to 'ave my son where I can protect 'im." Devon seemed to not notice his name being spoken and had taken to staring right back at Micha in curiousity, the blood juicebox still hanging from his mouth. Phia looked to the children and then to Nana and smiled warmly at the woman. "'ello again to ye too." She soft with an equaly pleasing tone. Her eyes slid back to Mastema, neutral at best was her expression. "But I suppose everyone can change for the bett'r Mastema. I commend ye if ye 'ave...Now...if we're done with introductions shall we dicuss plans 'ere or do ye pre'aps 'ave somewhere less in the open we may speak?" She was by no means asking to be invited in but to be in a place where all sorts of wandering ears could here didn't sit well with Phia.

Mastema's right hand was still held by Nana, so he couldn't very well move it while Nana was comprehending this odd reunion. "I suppose there are a few places we could speak discreetly. So--" Mastema cut himself off and suddenly turned his head to look up slightly. One of Zio's warnings had cut him off. Someone else was approaching the citadel? Who the devil would be crazy enough to try? "It seems I have a little situation to take care of. We can talk as soon as that's done..... I do not think Nana will have any problems showing you around if you wish. You two seem to be acquainted already." Mastema would reach back with his other hand and pat Trilla on the head. "There is nothing to worry about. I should have this rectified shortly." Before long, Mastema was starting to move away from Nana to get back to the mind. He had no hesitations about leaving Nana and Phia together with the children.

All right--

*What ever it was must have been important, even if it seemed a little... abrupt? With Mastema having to take his leave, Trilla would take up a spot behind Nana instead, staying close like a chick to a mother Hen. With that Nana and Phia were left with their children, standing for the moment silently and well, slightly awkwardly aswell. Just what was with that greeting to Mastema? What ever the case, Phia clearly didn't like Mastema all that much. Their family also attacked the citadel too? Nana didn't know why of course but that was all in the past right? The children would stare back at Phia and Devon, what were they going to do now?*

Micha: . . .

Trilla: .___.

Eecheb: *snort*
