Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:0/10 Roll:1 Hitotsu went to the back of the building, outside in the night. There were multiple logs that adorned a section of the training grounds and he looked longingly at their etch marks. For years, shinobi had been making their names and pumping their power here. Now he had the chance. Even without a kunai or other weapon to make his presence known, he would find some way of reasonable practice. Hitotsu slammed his fist against a log. It was something his father had taught him. When there's nothing else to do, punching a log can pass the time. He knew his father didn't mean it literally, but now wasn't the time to think. He had to focus. He drew his power to his fist. His parents scolded him whenever he blindly punched away. Instead of his norm, Hitotsu slammed as hard as he could. Each punch made him wince and he was forced to hold his hand every few times in pain.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:1/10 Roll:2 The young student sank to his knees. He had been throwing his right fist at the wood for almost ten full minutes. The pain was very powerful and he couldn't help but drop a few tears every couple punches. The was his main focus though. Picking himself up, he stared at the log. On it was smeared a red stain of blood. With or without weapons, he had left his mark. Hitotsu squeezed his right hand into a tight fist. Tonight, he'd make every limb he had burn with the pain of accomplishment. Letting his right fist fly, it hit awkwardly on the log. Hitotsu was forced to grab his hand in agony, then bit his lip. Let's just do this He thought. Every few punches, shooting pain took hold of Hitotsu's reactions and he would recoil. But determination was his key. Each recoil was met with an even stronger punch to the log. Every punch, he would see the wood soak with a small dash of his blood.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:1/10 Roll:3 Hitotsu stopped and fell to the ground. His fist was throbbing and he realized that punching the log would no longer assist him. That is, punching the log with his right hand. He was always told he was as stubborn as his father. . .so why not accept that he was not going to leave without having accomplished something. Picking himself back up, his left fist clenched in preparation. Letting it fly, he landed a blow right where his right fist had been splintering the wood. He continued through the night.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:2/10 Roll:4 The shinobi was overjoyed to feel his muscles working. They were tired, but Hitotsu pushed them as far, maybe farther, than they wanted to go. He shook the pain off but was forced to cradle his left hand every few minutes. Punching a log wasn't as easy as his father had made it sound, nor did it feel like an amazing way to train. In any case, he readied himself to punch again. Looking at the log, he could see a couple pieces of wood had been dislodged. He felt his progress was nigh. This sight simply invigorated him. Jumping into it, Hitotsu felt the wood rebound at his fist. He felt the wood slowly soften. Though he wasn't sure if it was from the beating he was giving it or if his blood had simply soaked through.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:2/10 Roll:5 Hitotsu missed the log by an inch, his left shoulder landing squarely where his fist was meant to go. He sighed and huffed, having been training for so long with his left fist. At first, it seemed to go very well. Now, he felt sick with pain. He slumped to the ground and leaned back, closing his eyes in relaxation. The stinging in his hands was slowly dieing down and he could even feel his right fist start to scab. That was a good sign. . . at least to him. Hitotsu warmed his nose against the cool night air with the friction of his jacket, rubbing it vigorously. He rose, still a bit woozy from pain, and looked at the log. Well. . .without pain, kids become ungrateful. May as well keep pushing. He thought. And with that, he raised his right leg and kick the log with the bottom of his shoe. One, two, three times against the wood. He would switch between right and left, but kicking as hard as he could.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:3/10 Roll:6 Hitotsu laughed to himself as his left leg hit the wood hard. He could hear the wood breaking now. It made him happy. If nothing else, he would at least destroy the log. Then he thought about it. This would be his very first mark as a member of the ninja circuit. Do I want to destroy my beginnings? He thought. With quick haste, he turned his attention to a log off to his left. He smiled and whipped his body around. With his left leg, he let the log feel his full wrath. One after another, he pumped kicks from his legs and hoped to destroy this log tonight. His first would become a plaque for the future. Some form of nostalgia.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:4/10 Roll:7 Hitotsu continued to kick, even though the cool summer air nipped at him. When it got to a point that his body shivered, he zipped up his jacket. This, unfortunately, only made him far too hot and he was forced to throw it off. Hitotsu howled in pain as his shin caught on the side of the log. He recoiled and jumped around on one leg, rubbing away the pain. After a few minutes of the awkward hop, he was dead set on teaching the log a lesson for giving him such pain. With a wild jump, followed by a twist of his body, Hitotsu let a hard right kick against the log, causing it to splint in several places.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:4/10 Roll:8 Hitotsu sat down, taking a slow breather. His shins were red and had a couple cut and bruises from hitting the log incorrectly. He sighed and inspected the wounds. They weren't infected, mainly because they were fresh, but he would care for them when he got home. Knowing that punching and kicking the logs would only further his pain, he decided on a different form of action. Hitotsu climbed on top of the bloody log that he had begun with. His footing was solid so he began to squat. His muscles were already sore, but they rushed with new life at the less brutal training regimen.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:4/10 Roll:9 Hitotsu found that the squats were doing very little for him. Still, he felt the need to continue with it. He wiped a little sweat from his forehead and pushed down, breathing in air. He pushed himself up, letting the air out, and continued this pattern in the dark of night. A distant light flickered, the courtesy flame kept for those who visited the dojo late at night.

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:4/10 Roll:10 Hitotsu still felt nothing from this exercise. Slowly climbing back down, he found his legs were a little weak. He was still determined to push himself all out before the night was through. Looking around, Hitotsu was unsure of what to do next. He jumped over a little stream that ran through the training field. With a gentle sigh, he found a grouping of multiple differently sized boulders. He smiled and went to the first one. It was about half his height, but when he exerted his strength it felt to weigh twice as much. He pushed, trying to move the heavy thing. It would budge every now and then, but remained motionless. (Gah, cheap azz dice)

Push for strength DC:10 Formula:1d20+str Train:4/10 Roll:11 Hitotsu struggled and moved the boulder, of which it continued to roll another few inches. He was pleased and pushed again at the large ball of rock, moving all of his weight into it. He wasn't sure how boulder rolling would help, but in the dark of the night he was given no other choice. He groaned and pushed and groaned again, almost willing the stone to move. Sweat dropped from his forehead and Hitotsu found himself straining to move it again.
