One trick I use is when I want to write but the ideas won't come is to write in a separate file about whatever comes to mind. It might be a rant on why I can't write, or what lead to a recent moodswing, or a dream I had, but I write in that separate file because eventually, I do feel creative, and I do want to add to my actual story. Maybe you could try that, or try doodling in a notebook until the urge to paint comes to you? I also listen to music matching the mood of what I want to write, but if I get stuck I leave the music on, but do something else (like visit gaia or facebook) because, at least for me, it distracts me from the problem I'm having but keeps the mood going. I also have a few side projects I'm working on (another novel and various shorts), and if I'm having problems with my main project I will work on my side one to change things up a bit. Those are the things I fall to when I get a block and can't get anything done and more often than not they work, at least eventually. Hopefully there is something there you can use to help you when you get a creative block.

I'd take it, but honestly I never use my fish tank so they would be better off going to a home where it'll be used.

I currently have the urge to write but find myself procrastinating instead, so I'm killing time on gaia and facebook. .

Wow that sounds like a wonderful exhibit!!!! I saw The Parthenon in TN a couple of years ago. They have a replica built there. It was pretty amazing. I sat in front of a GIANT statue of Athena for a long while.


I will paint a canvas a color, just so I am not staring at the white. I have been known when I am really stuck, to paint a bad painting, that will urge me to cover it up. I have decided to journal mt experiences of these paintings I have way too really cool empty journals and the truth is, the reason I haven't started yet is because I can't decide on journal!!!!! I know lame, but true non the less. Write!!! If there is anything we can do to encourage you, just let us know!!!!


Am on a big countdown to see Harry Potter, I have three different dates to see it in the first 24 hours. The midnight showing on Thurs and twice on Fri. One of them is with my knitting group! They are going to knit through the movie!!!! If I can't make one though, that is the one I am skipping. It gives me more time to spend with my sweetie. The knitting one is earlier and I either spend that time without her, or she sees it the first time with me knitting, so I am thinking I might not go to that one. As a matter of fact, I just now worked that one out. Love my knitting friends, but honestly Am still in that phase where I want every minute I can with my honey.

Caustic, when do you start classes again? What will you be taking and what is your major???

I start uni again on the 1st of August...but I have to be up there the day before...another freezing month living at uni... xp
I'm only a first year so I have no idea at this stage about what I'll be doing as my major. Probably something to do with geology at this stage.

Silly me didn't pre-book tickets to see Harry Potter...I now have to wait a week or so before more tickets become available...

My crappy ex is at it again. Left a status message trying to get between me and somebody else. Saying she would like to take them to a concert but "it wouldn't be well received" The person she invited was petty ticked off at her for doing it and said she was stupid for even saying it, but it still made me mad. Its nice to know that I am loved though and that people are on my side without me even having to ask to them to make the decision. She is just awful for doing it though. I used to keep crap she did like this to myself as much as possible because I have well intentioned friends who really just make it worse. I used to not say so they would leave her alone, I didn't want her hurt but now I am only telling my current girlfriend and swearing her to secrecy just so its easier to leave behind. I just want her out of my life. The person she invited out could see it was not sincere why did she even bother???


Harry Potter, seen twice now and loved it. Spent a lot of time talking about how it really seem to be the end of an era and the impact it had on our lives. I got to see every one on opening night.

Thanx. She is still at it, but she has not hurt anybody since the " I would take you to a concert but I am not , lets blame it on Love To Paint" What a huge JERK!!! Anyway now its just annoyances, status messages I hear aimed at people kind of stuff. All in all just glad she is out of my life.

Things are going great with my love. Almost said my new love, its been 4 and half months now! It still feels really new. Actually its better because all the really good new feelings are still there ( and showing NO signs of slowing down) but the scary things about a new relationship are fading away. I feel very safe in this with her, which I know is weird thing to say, but I have not been truly safe in a long time.

I am one of those people who just knows things and I am almost always right, my ex, tried to beat that out of me, but now its taken for what it is and appreciated.

Not to get too personal, but my advances got spurned so much by my ex that I had most of my spontaneity beaten out of me as well, then I would get in trouble for never making the first move. My girlfriend is sincerely delighted when I make the first move. It surprised her at first, she thought I would be different, but she honestly loves it. I love her so much for just allowing me to be who I am.

I want to start integrating her into the rest of my life, but she is not quite ready for it. I go to her women's group when I can, she has yet to come to mine. Hers is different than mine and everybody in mine knows my ex. But all the ones who have spoken out about my ex not being there are glad that she is gone. I had no idea that she was so disliked there. Apparently they all thought she was a huge energy blocker. So I am not sure why my honey is not ready, but we are going to talk over a lot of things on Sunday and i am afraid that the "move in together" talk is coming. I have to say I am excited too. She is living with her ex and I am living with mine too ( the good ex, not the awful one) and there are other things that need to worked out, but I am sure we have the same end goals. Her women's group is more of a working group and mine is more of a learning group, but she will have to come eventually. Hers is all Lesbians, by coincidence I think. Mine is all straight women now except for me in the middle.

WOW sorry about he LLLOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG post but this is one of the few outlets I have to talk about it all so openly. I have one friend who hates my ex and is constantly trying to set me up, he will love her. Other than him I have only two other people I talk to openly. I am getting ready to tell my ex though, he needs to know. He is pretty open with me about his love life. One of the fears my awful ex did instill in me, that I can't quite shake is that every time I get close to having the life I want it all falls apart. I am terrified. I know these two women are not the same and I have gotten over every other fear but for some reason this one is haunting me. When the time comes I am jumping into this life with everything I have, just like the fool and the cliff. Its not a matter of trust like it was with my ex. I know I am loved and wanted. Just an invalid terror, I know that. But knowing it doesn't stop the feeling.
