just wondering. The Taijustu Body Downgrade tech you need to learn the 8 Gates....it says you forget all currently known ninjutsu and genjutsu, but it doesn't stop you from re-learning/learning new ones, right? I mean it has been shown that Kakashi and Gai can both use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu still and they can both use gates (kakashi can at least open the first two for when he copied the lotus)

The Taijustu Body Downgrade tech you need to learn the 8 Gates....it says you forget all currently known ninjutsu and genjutsu, but it doesn't stop you from re-learning/learning new ones, right? I mean it has been shown that Kakashi and Gai can both use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu still and they can both use gates (kakashi can at least open the first two for when he copied the lotus) As far as I know; in guild learning Taihutsu Body Downgrade, then learning the Gates means you can't use Ninjutsu or Genjutsu anymore. If you learn a new Ninjutsu or Genjutsu, then you lose access to the Gates and have to relearn the Body Downgrade. Least this is how I was thought that it was.

The two Body Downgrade techs /* One is for Taijutsu, and the other for Genjutsu; my creation */ work so as to force you to only use ONE type of Jutsu in exchange for the powers of the downgrade.
I don't recall Gai ever using Ninjutsu, his jutsu are actually sheer chakra manipulation. Or at least that is what I've seen of him. I don't pay much attention to the good guys in the Manga.
Anyways; if you get one of the downgrades. Part of the cost of using them is to forego any other jutsu style. So in the case of the Taijutsu one.
You become restricted to only learning Taijutsu and Kenjutsu. /* I do believe chakra manipulation is not counted as a Ninjutsu. We actually need to sit down and discuss this; I'll start the convo in the Mod forum if the mods don't want to just chat in OOC about it. */
So say you learn the Taijutsu Downgrade and you have
Kage Bunshin
Substitution
Leaf whirlwind /*Or whatever that one's called? */
You now have to strike out the first two, because they are not Taijutsu or Kenjutsu. As well, from here on, you have to learn only taijutsu and Kenjutsu.
Which isn't a problem, because there are a very high number of techniques, that can easily accumulate to a 200k character /* I've made one. */
The same goes for the Genjutsu downgrade /* Found in Hidden Whirlpool I believe */

ACM- I'm not a mod, and I put a lot of detail into my made-ups! Sometimes a bit much, which leads to it's own share of problems, but generally, more information is better, just like Reaver said.
Those new weapons look pretty interesting, some could really cause some chaos.
Reaver- I forget her exact total, but Kawari has a pretty sizable total, too. Getting to the point I'm forgetting just what other Tai techs there even are left to learn. (It'd help if all the techs were labeled with the type, but that's a pretty tall order...)
Random other news, actually trying to save up gold for a goal is apparently mildly frustrating. Never had to worry about it before, so this will be an interesting challenge.
Random other news, anyone else going to be watching the Twilight Zone marathon tomorrow? Looks like there'll be some of the good ones.
