Winning. She was like a Charles Shimmer of the horseman world. Majestic and beautiful and drinking tiger's blood and all that. Very hardcore, very skilled at what she could do. People wished they could be like Lan but no, if you tried, you'd get hurt. Get burned. Can't take the heat then stop trying to be someone you obviously could never compare to.

Lan went back to assert her place over the pond. But, no this time the ducks weren't having none of her prima donna s**t. Which was fair. She showed them once just how good she was, (okay), she would show them again when necessary. Ducks might cry fowl but b***h, haters gonna hate she was to fly for their snapping to ruffle her metaphorical feathers.
Because it was fact that conquest horsemen didn't get wings.
Unless they were really super special but then if you hand wings why did you even mingle among the peasants aside from good public relations?

Excuse you strength test, that was for peasants. Or you know. Guys. Who liked that sort of thing. She wasn't about to get all worked up over a hammering. No, she had more important things to do. Like win all of the tickets and get all the other things and then show off just her vast genetic superiority to-
Okay technically she had the arm for it but really, she didn't want to dirty her dress. Picking up the hammer with two fingers she scowled at the 'dirtiness' of handling something so many halloweeners might have touched with their grubby paws and claws. She tossed the hammer really, letting it flop onto the scale. The gnome's joke fell flat as Lan just stared, trying to make sense if they were attempting to be witty or smart or sassy with her.
She just slapped them with her fan.

Invicus would tell Lan that attempting the way of a master before she had even passed novice was foolish and arrogant. But, her cousin wasn't there. And Lan was a fairly prideful and arrogant horseman. Horsewoman. Person of horse heritage. She was in the end, too much herself, too little one of her people. They were not normally so brash and reckless.
Lan was just Lan.
And her failure only made her anger at her own lack of mastery of a children's carnival game was like that of someone getting mad ata kid who played card games on motorcycles.

Zar felt like games were for scarelings and did not much approve of the odds involved in any of the events he found himself presented with. He settled on the ducks first simply by virtue of their proximity to him rather than any perceived success. These tickets were evidently important, and if he had a task, he would do it to the best of his ability.

Lan said screw the rules, she's there prove her skills. This time Lan was going to up her game. She was going all out so the emperor help her, (no don't help her Invi that was an expression and besides you're not the emperor just yet. One day though, one day). A deep breath, there was some measure of focus- before she was tossing darts fairly right on the mark. Puffing up like some kind of pony puffer fish, Lan preened in her victory.
Suck it suckers.

He would have to look in depth later to try and find the correlation between this pointless busy work and fun. Normal creatures were a strange sort, occupied by illogical actions.
Making his way to the hell's bells booth, he picked up the mallet and swung, not expecting much with his scrawny physique and prepared to write some strongly worded letters if he pulled anything in the process.
Apparently it earned him a stuffed toy and it wouldn't make sense to leave behind any perceived profitable gain.
He chose one that was a very large dog.

Dreading the ring toss, Millie wasn't very good at it. Tossing a few rings, Millie found that some went wildly off course and managed to only get a few rings around the bottle necks.

Grabbing a duck out of the pond, Millie was delighted to see a little green ribbon tied around its foot.
This netted her a cute little voodoo doll.
