Arthur sighed lightly and raised his hands for a second. "Everyone just stop for one second please?" He asked them all and waited until they were silenced before he continued. First he turned down to little Lark and patted her head. "Little one things are different down here than up on the surface, we actually buy things with steel down there than trade as you wanted to. It's just a common misunderstanding sweetie okay?" A small kiss on her head to try and calm the little one down so she wouldn't cry, that was the last thing he wanted Piper to know about. Turned towards Isle he gave her a 'Listen to me' look before actually saying. "Listen Isle you are out of your element here, things are different down here than up on the surface, people act differently so you can't expect them to be the same from the people you know on Andal. Please I'm not asking you for much, apologize to the man he doesn't know who Lark really is, as he as put it he gets things stolen from him all the time, having a business down here is taking a major risk so try just put yourself in his shoes for just a second." He sighed a little before taking a small breath before turning to Tym.

"Ah Tym it has been awhile hasn't it? It seems that your stand is still in good shape is it not?" Of course Arthur was referring to those times he kept on breaking Tym's stand while playing in the market place as a little boy. "Listen I'm sorry for what my friend has caused you, it is hard running your type of business I know I've seen you go through hard times, now my little friend here Lark is new to the Underdark and was doing exactly what she does from where she came from which is the surface..." He trailed off as he crouched down and asked the little elf if she wanted to sit on her shoulder, when she agreed he popped her on to it and stood straight again to Tym can see her. "Now listen old friend, first her pearls are real, I know her father and he would never give anything fake to her, second I will pay you 1200 steel to cover the trouble that has happened here and three can you please apologize to little Lark? She's just a child and she doesn't want this to bother her because she thinks it's her fault, which really it's all just a misunderstanding..." A small pause as he looked at Lark with a smile before back towards Tym. "So think you can do that?"

Though at that moment Arthur felt something within his coat, pulling it out he was holding a link crystal in his hand, once he activated it Zahara's voice came roaring through and his face winched a little bit. "Ummm Zahara now is not the time to be talking like this, I'm in a bit of a bind here in Honorsfeild where me, Malik, Malikhai, Piper, her sister, Isle have gone to so we can see the Oracle and now I'm talking little Lark and Isle on the tour of the marketplace so please can I call you back some other time? I'll explain everything later." And with that he cut the link off, hoping that Zahara wouldn't be angry at him for doing that.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 19, 2006 9:15 pm

Lharika stared at the man and promptly burst into tears. He was talking bad about Daddy Kieran. "He loves me too much to give me fake anything...right Isle?" Glancing down from her perch. she din't like that too much,s he was up way too high. She reached for Isle, still upset.

Melody shook her head. "For their trouble you ought to give it to them free Tym." She smacked him across the back of the head and sighed. "Arthur he had no right doing what he did. Don't give into him, that's absolutely not right."

Tym sniffed at Arhtur and shook his head. "No." Then he was smacked and he glared at Melody before relenting. "Just don't let it happen again. Children ought to be kept with an adult and adults ought to be well versed in the ways of the places they are going to." He handed Arthur the necklace and held out his hand waiting for the payment.

Melody slapped a pitiful amount into his palm and shook her head. "I think we're done here." A glance at the other elf. "Isle, is that your name? You'll have to excuse Arthur, he's way too nice for his own good. Needs someone like me around to keep him from getting stepped on."

Tym wasn't horribly happy with it and he merely grunted and stowed the steel.

He grinned at his father and then plopped himself on teh ground expecting Daddy to make the fire since he was too little to play with it. But it looked like he got to learn even more today, now didn't he? Watching intently as his father struck the flint and set fire to the stuff. He leaned down and blew lightly on the tiny flames watching them catch even more and light up the herbs and leaves. "You sure you can cook Daddy?"

Zahara stared down at the stone in her hand. "He hung up on me! I was going to ask him a fricken question and he hung up on me." She glared at the stone before shoving it back in her pants pocket. Nope, she hadn't changed. "Let's go Faete. As fast as you can to Honorsfield. We have an elf to speak with." Nightmare magic used and she was in Honorsfiled in no time, finding the market relatively easy as well. Thus she jerked to a stop before him. "Galesen Coldiron! Don't you ever hang up on me. Next time you do it, you will regret it." Dismounting from Faete who was pawing and snorting standing in teh middle of the marketplace she glared at him. "Tell me where my son and his father are."

She let her features melt into an emotionless mask as Galesen again turned to her and lectured her. Somehow she liked it that he took the chance to boss her around when men usually backed down to her...but that didn't mean that she was any less pissed about it. And alook to Lharika, walking back over and taking her from Galesen's shouders, holding her and cuddling her a moment. She huffed out irritatedly and looked to the vendor as he proceeded to insult her. But hey the important thing is that she didn't have to apologize.

Thus she set Lark down and pet her on the head. "Don't worry, these people just don't know how wonderful Kieran really is." Tapping her nose lightly. "Now dry those tears, don't let silly people make you cry." But a look as she was addressed. "Isleandra." Then a nod. "Some people erase thier benifit of the doubt before they even get it." Though her attention shifted as Zahara literllay popped up. "Wow, Zahara is on the warpath today...I suppose hellos can wait."

"I can cook over an open fire anyday. I used to go on long long trips for days at a time sometimes and I had to cook for myself. I cook good when I'm outside...open flame is easier for me. I don't need that fancy kitchen cooking. Now watch." Constructed more or less of a rack over the flames with stones and stone shards, as well as feeding the fire a bit more. Then handing some of those herbs he had to his son. "Here, squish these." As he was throwing the fish ontop of the quickly heating rocks.

Well it seems that no matter what the hell the elf ever said it actually made things worse for everyone else, which is something he didn't need right now. But at the moment he had a crying Lharika who was taking by Isle, thank the gods she was around, Melody was there to keep control of Tym who was still stubborn as ever, that man never really smiled once when Arthur was living in Honorfeild, not once; thought at least he got the necklace which he handed over to Isle to give to Lark. Though Melody's words did bug him a little about how he acted and he sighed in frustration as he pinched the brow of his nose with his finger tips, his ears burning a little bit in embarrassment. "Thank the gods that this wont turn for the worse." But it seemed that the gods were not going to be nice to Arthur as Zahara showed up on the scene all piss at him for hanging up on her with the link. Oh damn it not now... Another sigh and a look to the ladies near him. "I'll be right back..." Then he wandered over to the drow with his hands placed in his pocket because he didn't want to come across as an angry man at the moment. "Didn't you hear a word I said? I told you I was busy at the moment so we couldn't talk! I was going to link you later! But it seems you took it upon yourself to come over here." A soft sigh before he crossed his arms as he watched her for a moment. "You wasted your time Zahara, I don't know where they are, they aren't here that's for sure." That was the truth, he hasn't seen Sevilin for awhile now so where the hell could he know where he and his son went off to? He didn't care anyways since the drow could take care of himself for all that matters. Did Arthur need this now though? No he had a crying little girl, he probably got Isle angry at him and now the whole marketplace was looking towards him, what a great day he was having.

Lark nodded to Isle and smiled through her tears, much happier. "You're right Isle, they just don't know Daddy Kieran." She hugged the woman tightly around her waist and then slipped her hand into hers.

Melody smiled. "Pleasure to meet you Isleandra. I'm Melody, Gavin's daughter. You were exposed to him very briefly over there." She glanced back towards her father and grinned, though her eyes reflected brief fear. "She's drow..."

Zykariel wasn't sure if he believed his father but he was tempted to see just what his father was going to do. He took the herbs and squeezed them really tightly then accidentally dropped htem on top of the fish cooking. "Oops...sorry Daddy..."

Zahara glared at Arthur. "Now you listen to me. First of all, I don't wait for later. If I call you and you don't have time, don't pick up the stone. SEcondly, you hung up on me. Why would you think I would let that go?" She shook her head. Very close to picking Arthur up and shoving him into the nearest stand. She clenched her teeth and glared at him. "Did he say anything to you about planning on doing something later today. You talked to him. Do you know anything. Anything Arthur would be of great help in this situation. I dont' know where they are!"

Seemed Galesen was having a bad day. But she took the necklace from him and handed it to Lharika. "Here you go honey. See, the bad guys always loose." Another pet to ther hair, looking over and seeing Zahara more or less burning Galesen. She sighed and looked back to the child and then to Melody...well she seemed nice enough. "Yes, niced to meet you too." And she waved a hand dismissively. "Just a drow, she's Zahara. No worries. Watch Lark a moment?"

Then walking over to Zahara and Galsen...might as well help some. "Now now Zahara, he hung up on you because there was some trouble here caused by one of those arrogant humans here. He was trying to protect me in a sense." Giving a little smile and a bat of her eyes to Galesen before looking back to Zahara. "Now calm down girl, you're going to pass out if you keep yelling like that."

Meanwhile Sevilin was throwing some of the other herbs he had grabbed on the way into the fire, letting them burn and make the fire change colors for breif moments, the smoke from the fire taking on a rather nice scent as well. But a chuckle at his son. "That's alright Zykariel, we were going to do that with them anyway. You don't want to cook it all dry and stuff...makes it taste bad and all the juice gets away. And now we just wait until it smells really good and the scales start to turn color and curl some." Yes, Sevilin cooked his fish whole...less mess later.

Arthur was seriously going to blow his top if Zahara wouldn't tone down her voice just a little, he did not need her to start bitching at him because of a few things he did here and there that got her mad by mistake. But before he could open his mouth Isle had come over and started to speak to the drow, giving her own comment onto why he had to hung up, but when she bat her eyelash at him a little that made the redness on his ears grow just a tiny bit. "She’s right, we were having a bit of a problem so I needed all of my attention focused on trying to protect them." Well he was calmed down for now, thank the gods Isle decided to step in she's a life saver, but there was still the issue of where her son and the father were at. "Well we talked but Sevilin didn't speak of any plans he was going to have with your son, it seems to me this was a whole spur of the moment kind of thing they did. Did you check the river? They may have gone there." Well he and Zahara had been to the river many of times and it stretched for a nice long distance, maybe they went there to spend sometime together.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 19, 2006 10:26 pm

Lharika let go of Isle's hand as she was handed over to Melody so to speak. "Hi, I'm Lharika." Smiling shyly at her and staring at her toes.

Melody got down to the little girl's height and smiled. "Nice to meet you Miss Lharika, that's a very pretty name for a very pretty elf. I'm Melody."

Lharika grinned, "Melody? That's what Isle plays. She likes melodies."

She threw back her head and laughed, "Well then here's to hoping Isleandra and I will get along." She took the necklace from the child and undid the back looping it around her neck and fastening it. "There, that just makes you look even prettier."

She blushed, her cheeks taking on that lavendar toning and she reached up and reverently touched the necklace. "Thank you Miss Melody. I like it very much."

"Well kiddo, for one as pretty as you, you deserve it." She stood up and held out her hand, waiting to see if the child would take it and grinned when she did.

He was quite relieved to hear that that was supposed to happen because that had really worried him. After all he knew tha tyou couldn't pull things like that off a fire once they were already on there. He watched the fire change colors and sat there with his knees drawn up to his chest then sniffed the air.

Suprisingly the fish did exactly what Daddy said it would. It started smelling really, really good and his tummy began rumbling. "Is it almost done? I'm getting hungry." He tried really hard to be patient but it was hard. Especially when he could smell the food and watch it cooking. "The scales are kinda changing colors but they aren't really curling..."

Zahara met Isle's gaze and shook her head. "I'm sorry Arthur. I just know he talked to you and I can't find them. They didn't come home for dinner and that's just not like them. They never do that..." Pissy Zahara was quickly being replaced by worried Zahara which she had been all along really, just went about it the completely wrong way.

Ha, she made him blush again. That was going to become a past time. But her look turned back to Zahara and she reached out, patting her friend on the shoulder. "No hard feelings then, you're worried you can hear it in your voice." Though then it seemed to hit her. "Sevilin? Oh! So the one I met and the father of...the kid...is the same person. Silly me." And yes she was careful how to mention said child, after all, she remembered how detached Zahara wanted to be. "I'm sure they're fine Zahara. Boys will be boys after all."

"Just wait a bit more." Hey patience was important when cooking, even Zahara said that. But it only took about five more minutes before Sevilin fished the fish out of the fire with his dagger, flopping it over onto another rock, going about splitting it open and carving out a chunck of meat for the boy, "Careful now, it's hot...and don't eat the scales."

Arthur lightly sighed and raised his hand a little as a sign of comfort of sorts, he wasn't angry at Zahara or anything like that he was just really emotionally drained from that whole argument thing they had a few minutes ago, he did not need someone coming along and starting to yell at him. "Zahara it's alright you are just worried about the two of them so its understanding that you reacted this way." Though the more he thought about it the best logical explanation was they went to the river, after all they didn't have anywhere else to go, besides why not teach the little drow how to fish? It would surely come in handy as he grows older and wants to roam around. "so like I said just check the river or around the area, you should find them if not then return home and wait for them, that's all I can say really." Well it was kind of weird to see Zahara so worried about Sevilin and their son, he had never seen her worry about anything so much ever since they were together, he hoped that she would find them soon.

"Yes he is the same person. In fact I heard you met Zykariel already. He can be quite the handful." Though she shook her head and spun on Arthur. "I am not worried, I am furious. Do you think it's every day that someone misses my meals. That just doesn't happen beside it's particularly rude for them to do that. I don't like rude." She huffed out a breath and shook her head then turned for Faete. "But if you don't know where they are then you are of no further use to me. Isle, I'll catch up with you later. Link me when you're back at Twilight."

He picked up some patience from somewhere and calmed down a bit, tapping his hand idly against his pants before finally Daddy decided the fish was done cooking and began to slice into it. "It smells really good." He took the meat with his fingers, juggling it lightly because it was really hot and then nibbled part of it. His lips split in a crooked grin. "It is good. You can cook Daddy!"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 20, 2006 3:55 pm

"Um right, bye Zahara..." Waving lightly to the drow as she went off and then she turned to Arthur. "Well...she sure was moody now wasn't she?" A little shrug and she tucked some hair behind her ear and turned on her heel, walking back over to Melody and Lharika, pulling Arthur back with her. "I'm sorry, I de believe that you were having a conversation with these...people."

Sevilin gave a smile, cutting a piece for himself and munching on it. "You see, I told you. I'm not completely helpless now am I? I just can't cook like Zahara does. This is outdoor cooking, we don't use the fancy stuff she does and we can still make it taste good." Reaching over and ruffling the boy's hair before cutting him another piece of fish and handing it over.

Kora-chan

PostPosted: Mon Nov 20, 2006 4:02 pm

Kora frowned at the soaken patch of her shirt... and the teeth that were clamped onto it. She could feel each of Deidrick's warm humid breaths. Her bottom lip trembled involuntairly. She didn't feel hungry anymore.

"Hey... give the girl a break. I'm sure she's not as bad as you think she is."

Kora gained a little confidence from Rusty's comment. Maybe she could wiggle out of this, yet.

"There wouldn't be coins if I've spent them, no?"

She chose her words carefuly. Not a lie, not the truth. There was something about Deidrick's intent stare that made her cower, just then.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 20, 2006 4:10 pm

Arthur blinked a few times when Zahara had to snap at him again. "Okay, okay you're furious." Gezz women, they always have to be right about everything huh? Sighing lightly the elf pinched the bridge of his nose again as he closed his eye, he was really glad that was all over when Zahara bid them farewell, or at least bid Isle farewell and just leave Arthur there with no hint of thanks; well that was the way Zahara worked sometimes. Though suddenly he felt himself being pulled by Isle back towards Melody and Lark where he was finally able to have a decent conversation now. "Well they aren't people, they're friends Isle that I knew while growing up...or rather they did the growing up and I just watched really." Yup the one thing Arthur did around Honorsfeild as a lad was watch all the humans grow from tiny tots to the grown ups they are today, he had lost a lot of friends but he accepted the fact of their limited life span and kept on making friends. "So Melody, the years have been wonderful to you how is everything for you and your father?" He asked with a bright smile across his face.

Zahara was to say the least not a happy drow. She was not about to go scouring the underdark for the men...and then she decided what the hell she might as well. Faete was urged on and she began looking for the errant boys.

Lharika glanced at Zahara for a moment and then grinned at Isle. "Isn't it pretty Isle?" Showing off her necklace.

Melody smiled at Isle and smoothed down Lharika's hair. "Everything alright?" She raised an eyebrow at Arthur and then smiled. "It's all been just fine really, Arthur though you know me, always into one kind of trouble or another," she said with a grin. "As for Daddy, well why dont' you ask him yourself?"

Zykariel ate the rest of his and nodded quite happily then holding out his hand for more. Taking the piece offered he nibbled pieces of that and grinned. "Does this mean you're going to start cooking all the time now Daddy? Or is Mother going to take back over when we get back home?"
