Second pregnancies are often worse for ki mothers as opposed to their first. Not only has their energy decreased by in some cases an extreme of twice as less energy that they possessed during the first, but also the duration of the pregnancy is often extended by up to a week and a half. For reasons as yet unexplained, if the child retains the same father as the elder sibling, mood swings are far less dramatic and frequent than if it were otherwise. In the layman's terms, "Morning Sickness" starts within a few days of pregnancy but should last no more than five. Should it continue for longer, please seek medical attention immediately, as this could be a sign of serious injury.

Please remember that if there is doubt as to how many children the expectant ki mother has issued, a medical examination is required by Faye law whilst she is still in her first trimester. Pregnancy numbers can now safely and swiftly be determined using state-of-the-spell techniques (all with royal approval). Should the fetus be discovered to be a fourth child a termination and reincarnation shall be ordered. Should the fetus be discovered to be a third child constant supervision by a trained medical professional is required.

These laws are for the good of the mother as well as child. The board of the SISTERS would like to remind everyone of the consequences should such requirements be ignored. A third child is often the victim of serious deformity, most often in the lack of the formation of a durable epidermis. Neurological damage may also occur. The fourth child is always stillborn. The death is violent. As the energy by now has increased four fold what it was for the first child, the metabolism starts to cannibalize the fetus. The heart is not able to sustain the stress and before the starvation is complete the child has suffered a heart attack. The ki mother of the would be second child does require more energy. While it is under her discretion if she prefers more nutrition, rest or intercourse, five meals should be made for her. Snacks should she wish them. Youkai fathers are advised to leave during the last few weeks of the pregnancy as it is the tendency of these mothers to feel violent urges directed towards them. Youkai mothers during this also may require constant feeding depending on their size and sub race. Faye mothers are advised not to bless the fetus, or to have a relative attempt to bless the fetus. Humans have not been subjected to an adequate amount of research to report adequately on their particular fancies that separate them from the other species during this time. It has been noted that however that they tend to decline offers of food. It is not known why, but the refusal is to be ignored for safety.

Miscarriage, although not common among our Faye, is an affliction that follows that of the Youkai and Human races. Youkai mothers are advised not to walk during a second pregnancy. They should also refrain from eating anything not protein-based. Any portion of food with more than four simple carbohydrates is safest taken with a glass of warm blood (fowl and lower level mononoke seem best suited). Should they accidentally consume anything with wheat gluten in it, contact the nearest SISTERS poison control center. Human mothers ideally have limited mobility for the last three weeks of their pregnancy. Massage is best avoided, as well as too hot or too cold temperatures. Orange juice (but no other citrus) and cottage cheese are particularly recommended for the human ki second pregnancy mother.
